WRT54GL - has been "secured", now listed as "not secure".

Hello

Last night, while browsing the internet, I was disconnected.  I clicked on the available network connections, and my router was not.  I then pressed the "reset" button, which has held for about 30 seconds and again, the router did not appear.  Then I unplugged the router for a few minutes and is plugged in.  Now the router was on the list, with a strong signal, BUT it was listed as "unsafe" and did not require the password (encryption key? WPA?) When connecting.  In addition, the router was listed as "linksys" and not the name I had given orriginally, "wright_residence."  What should I do in order to make this router secure, re - install somehow.  If so, could you please provide guidance on how to do it?

Thank you.

Keith

Hi heelz11 and welcome to the forums!

The router returned to the settings by default because you pressed the reset button. Please follow the procedure step by step on how to secure your network and change your SSID (network name).
