WUSB100 settings on router

Can someone give me please with the optimal settings for my router to communicate with the card WUSB100?

My router is a WRT160N.  Is the WUSB100 an adapter N or must it run as a G?

I am not very well informed on this subject.

Thank you

Open an Internet Explorer browser on your computer (desktop) wired page. In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter.Leave empty username & password use admin in lowercase.

Click on the Wireless tab

Here, select manual configuration... Wireless network mode must be mixed...
Provide a unique name in the name box of the wireless network (SSID) in order to differentiate your network from your network of neighbors...

Define the Standard - 20 MHz Radio band and change the Standard channel at 11-2, 462 GHz... Wireless SSID broadcast should be enabled and then click on save settings...
Please take note of the name of the wireless network (SSID) because it's the network identifier...

Click the sub-tab under wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the mode of WPA wireless security, encryption, select TKIP. Password input your desired WPA key. For example, MySecretKey, this will serve as your network key whenever you connect to your wireless network. Do NOT give this key to anyone and do not forget the key.
NOTE: password must be equal to or more than 8 characters...

  • Fast internet, slow Web pages, is that network settings or router apple

I have not changed the settings from anywhere in quite some time, but I suddenly loads of slow Web page. It was suggested to add some dns (8.8.8.8, 6.6.6.6) to my network settings, but that did not help - can made things slower.

But I'm having the same problem on my ipad WiFi, blu - ray via wifi - so can I assume that I need to change the settings in my extreme? Are there settings DNS from the router as opposed to simply a device? If so, what are the differences.

Once again, my wifi seems strong, my bandwidth speed look ok, but I just recently in the past few days affected by the slowdown on Web pages (in safari and firefox and chrome)

I stumble upon a page from apple for the "optimal settings for routers", but honestly, few things on their page seemed to jibe with extreme settings I have (and Yes, I have all the updates on the firmware of the router about a month ago)

'Internet Fast, slow Web pages' usually indicate DNS problems. You use the Google DNS servers, may or may not, help depending on where you are.

To get a better idea on what DNS servers are going to provide the best performance, I suggest that you try an app like namebench. This application will literally be hundreds of test servers and report their respective performance. You can then decide to use one of their suggestions to see if that will help.

  • Router Wifi Smart AC1750 cannot set the full 100 WAN port

I connect to a static IP address.

After putting in the IP (static IP) settings the router does not receive speeds defined by internet provider (Logix Communications).

After consultation with Logix, told me that the WAN should be set to 'Full 100' and I could not find this setting on the device.

From now instead of a 50mbps down I get 10 Mbps download and upload 50mbps, so I guess the current WAN settings are 'Auto' on the AC1750 router WAN and cannot be changed?

So now I'm getting data collisions and slower than expected internet.

I need to know if it's fixable or to return this product for refund. I've updated the firmware for more later, still no dice.

I confirmed that my internet provider has no problem with a much older Linksys router with WAN set to 'Full 100'.
    Thank you.

Just a heads-up... No domestic router vendors provide ports that you configure manually, they use all the settings of auto-negotiation. So, your ISP will have to adjust their speed of port auto, or provide you a taking router support port speed settings...

  • Routing and remote access - on three subnetworked, two subnet unable to reach to the internet!

    Hello

    Good evening everyone.

I had a problem in Routing and remote access on windows 2003 server.  This server is already configured as a file server, domain server, and application server. Also configured as a router (thanks to access routing & remote) to connect the three different networks with each other. If this server has three NICs installed and each separate NIC network cards represent.

    three different networks are - 192.42.160.0/24, 192.42.161.0/24, 192.42.162.0/24

Three cards of the NETWORK adapter installed on the server as with the IP - next

    NIC - 1 = 192.42.160.220, Sub - 255.255.255.0, gateway - No.

    NIC - 2 = 192.42.161.220, Sub - 255.255.255.0, gateway - 192.161.220.112 (this ip address for internet access then 4 g router IP)

    -3 = 192.42.162.220, NETWORK cards, Sub - 255.255.255.0, gateway - No.

Now the question is I can get Internet & (also scathing in router ip 192.42.161.112) one network i.e. - 192.42.161.0/24, BUT when I try to access the internet from another two network (192.42.160.0/24 & 192.42.162.0/24) I can not access and in addition can not ping to internet router ip - 192.42.161.112...

So, how do I access the internet to another two network also?

I was already the configuration of static routing for all three network but I wasn't always successful. I don't really know what exactly static routing this should be done in access routing & remote area so that all three network can reach to the internet?

Here is the result of the current track...

  • Router WRT160N - Macbook Pro can connect but not Internet

For some reason any my macbook pro can no longer access the internet wirelessly through my WRT160N. It works very well through a cable connected. I can even connect to the wireless router - full signal and get only one ip address, but it does not connect to the internet - via my browser - I get "cannot find server" and "internet connection doesn't seem to work." Or other applications that use the internet don't work.

My mac has always been able to connect to other wireless routers. My router is the latest firmware.

I tried a lot of the things I found in various forums - redo manual settings of router configuration on the router, security (WEP, WPA, unsecured) settings and one suggesting same zap the PRAM. Any Suggestions?

If your MAC can connect to other networks / Wireless Router, it must do something with your wireless network...

In this case a simple reset can help you solve your problem, you need to reset your router to default and then re - configure the router from scratch...

To reset the router press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds... Release the reset button... Unplug the power cable from your router, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cable... Now re - configure your router...

  • Setup VPN on WRV210 as second router

I'm trying to set up a network containing two routers, a primary giving me access to internet ADSL (a 3CRWDR101A-75 3com) and a secondary router which has VPN (Cisco WRV210).

The main router has the following parameters of LAN: 192.168.0.1 / 255.255.255.0 with active DHCP.

WRV210 has the following parameters of LAN: 192.168.1.1 / 255.255.255.0 with active DHCP.

The cable connection is LAN port of the first router to second router Internet port.

In this way, I'm able to get the Internet on 2 laptops connected to WRV210

I also have a Panasonic IP/PBX connected on the second language (WRV210)

I need to configure VPN on WRV210 to be able to get SIP calls outside the local network (via internet).

As I am a novice in networks, both routers are the DEFAULT setting.

I learned a lot during the last 7 days can understand the concepts of network management, but was unable to put in place the appropriate configuration.

For example if I change WRV210 router mode gateway mode, I won't be able to surf the internet despite the assistance that says "the mode in which this router will work. If this router is hosted your connection of networks to the Internet, select gateway. If another router exists on your network, select route. When the router is selected, dynamic routing is enabled'

Also I am able to ping the LAN 192.168.0.x WRV210 first but not on the other side (from primary router WRV210).

I am confused to use and combine different settings (NAT, routing, Ports,...)

I really appreciate if someone could provide a step by step to configure the appropriate network and be able to reach my IP - PBX on the second language of anywhere.

    Thank you

Hi, Ghassan, port forwarding must be configured on the WRV210 router. The 3com device is basically a non-facteurs. If you need assistance with the creation of port forwarding, please call the small business assistance Center.

  • I can mutually ping in router RVS4000 VLAN without another router

One of our clients has RVS400 router with 4-port LAN VIRTUAL. We have recently added Crestron devices to our network and have some network problem. Search Google points to this page: Network slow question as discessed in this article: Troubleshooting network slow issues... There are two things happening with the Crestron system:... www.chicagotech.net/NetForums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7737 It recommends to create a local network VIRTUAL for Crestron. However, the Cisco RVS400 manual States: "function VLANS at layer 2.» VLANS isolate traffic within the VIRTUAL LAN, router layer 3 functioning router is needed to allow traffic between the VLANS. Layer 3 routers identify segments and coordinate with local networks virtual. "If we create two VLANS on the router without another router, can access us each other in these two VLAN?

    Hi chicagotech.

I implemented a RVS4000 in our laboratory and created 2 VLAN, VLAN 1 and VLAN 2. I connected two PCs, 1 on each VLAN and they were able to ping each other with Inter-VLAN routing active. Here are the steps I followed:

    1. Go to L2 Switch-> create a VLAN. I have added VLAN ID: 2 and click Add VLAN
    2. Go to membership to a VLAN and select VLAN 2 from the drop-down. In the table for Port 2, select the Untagged radio button and click on save at the bottom.
    3. Go to settings-> Advanced Routing and ensure that the Inter-VLAN routing is enabled. (It is enabled by default)
    4. Connect a PC to port 2 and make sure he gets an IP to VLAN 2. (in this case 192.168.2.100) Ping this address in VLAN 1 PC-> success. From VLAN 2 PC, ping 192.168.1.101 (VLAN 1 PC)-> success.
    5. As a test I gave then the PCs in each VLAN to an IP address static and turned off the DHCP server on the router. 192.168.1.102 was able to ping 192.168.2.102 and vice versa.
    6. I then disabled Inter-VLAN routing and the PC could ping is no longer among them. They still had full access to the internet.

It seems that the devices connected to the RVS4000 in different VLANS have no trouble to access each other with Inter-VLAN routing active.

  • Stability of the connection

I have a WRT110 Router with 2 workstations connected with of WUSB100. The router was in the basement on my main computer while 2 adapters were on the 2 floors. I went from the router to the floor today to try to improve the speed of internet on the top floor, but now I get kicked off every time the phone rings, (wireless phone). The thing is that I've never had interference from phones wireless in the House before. Suggestions?

Well in this case, you must change some settings in your router, I think this might solve your problem...

Open an Internet Explorer browser on your computer (desktop) wired page. In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Let the empty user name & password use admin lowercase...
For wireless settings, follow these steps: -.
    Click on the Wireless tab
-Here, select manual configuration... Wireless network mode must be mixed...
-Provide a unique name in the name box of the wireless network (SSID) in order to differentiate your network from your network of neighbors...

-Fix the Radio band to wide - 40 MHz and change the broad Channel 9 and channel Standard 11 - 2, 462 GHz... Wireless SSID broadcast should be enabled, and then click on save settings...
Please take note of the name of the wireless network (SSID) because it's the network identifier...
    For wireless security: -.
Click the sub-tab under wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the mode of WPA wireless security, encryption, select AES... Password input your desired WPA key. For example, MySecretKey, this will serve as your network key whenever you connect to your wireless network. Do NOT give this key to anyone.

NOTE: The password must be more than 8 characters...

    Click the settings advanced wireless
Change the interval of tag to 75 > change the Fragmentation threshold to 2304 change the RTS threshold to 2307 > click 'save settings '...
Now let's see if you can locate your wireless network and try to connect...

  • Equium M50-164 - cannot connect to Windows XP

    Hello

Would appreciate a lot if someone could help it, here is what happened. I changed some settings of router and the computer restarted, but instead of normal boot to XP, a black screen appears with Login: curries and password: empty, am I right in guessing it is some sort of system in the House of curries used on the laptop to connect?

It's very strange, never seen before. I bought the laptop from currys and tried the regular password of admin, any other ideas?

    Hello Oliver

Very stupid situation, but I really don't think described issue has something to do with Toshiba as a manufacturer of the laptop. There must be a problem with the operating system settings.

Currys unknown for me and maybe you should make a call and clarify this situation. Either way, in my opinion, you should do some operating system clean installation using supplied recovery DVDs. There is nothing that can be linked to curries after doing this.

You will plant again settings and you can set your own password to protect the operating system preinstalled.

  • Satellite L500-12F - WLAN speed drops down

    Hello

I have the troubel with my wireless network. I have the strength of the complete signal, but after a while, the speed drops to 78 of the MBP to 5.5 MBP and it remains there (but), and Yes before you sugest, I tried updating my drivers, even uninstall and install drivers, but to no apparent effect.

    That's what I tried:

-Check to be able to save the settings
    -Uninstall/install drivers
    -Check the wireless settings
-The router settings. (my laptop is the newest and the only one to lose speed in the House.) Other laptops maintains a constant speed, it is also the only computer with vista installed)

(PS: wireless cards / wireless snow effect can?)

Thanks for the help in advance! :)

    Hi mate,

I think that it s is not easy to say why this happens, but in the properties of your WIRELESS card with (Device Manager), you can choose wireless mode. Set the value to IEEE 802.11 g wireless network card always uses the fastest speed.

Also check WLAN channel. You can change it in the properties of the router, another value allows perhaps at a faster speed.

Options for energy-saving wireless network card must be disabled or let's say together for maximum performance. The wireless network card never recorded engine so that it uses the fastest connection.

In addition, it would be interesting to know which driver you have installed. From the Toshiba site or another page?
Last but not least, you should try a BIOS update.

I've had my Toshiba Equium A300D - 13 X for a few years now. I also have sky ADSL broadband for a few years. My signal from the router (netgear) until a couple of months has been very well. The router is located in my hall, and I use my laptop mostly in the lounge which is through a wall, 3 or 4 meters. Strength showing on the wireless icon in the tool bar used at least 4 or 5 bars but now the best I have is 3 bars force and my connection is variable with Web pages take longer to load.

If anyone has experienced this? Could there be something wrong with the internal wireless antenna?

    Any advice would be great.

    Hello

Have you changed anything on your phone (settings, updates), router (update firmware, settings), or perhaps in the region (placed a device which can interfere with the signal)?

I have tried many many suggestions on this support site that none have worked.  Any other ideas?  We did even restart router as a cause, it seems to resolve DNS names.  We don't have a dedicated dns server is just the router.  It seems even with fixed DNS the ip in the ip settings the router which is what we always used, it does not work.  I could not enter information in the lower body so had to go into the details here.  So I think it boils down to this... When I installed sp3 there is something that makes dns does not resolve so even though I can ping, be pinger and am authenticate to the net again I can not access resources or inet.  Help please.  No support for sp2 more but most everything worked fine.  Had a problem so I decided to go ahead and install and that's what happened.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled with the same results.

  • I want to use my lap top while my boyfriend is connected to XBox Live

I have read several entries here, but none of them seem to adapt to my situation. I don't mean to connect to XBox via the laptop, I can't use both at the same time. We have the best internet available, we have a router, and yet somehow, we are still unable to use our internet at the same time. I read things about how you need to change the IP address (or something?) on the router, if it allows both to work at the same time, but I'm totally clueless when it comes to routers. The laptop runs on XP. If anyone has ANY suggestions, I'm more than willing to give them a try!
    Thank you.

Still, I don't think she wants to share the connection.

@ptaseller it's really hard to walk someone through changing their settings of router because all routers are different. What I can do, is try to offer good suggestions. Your boyfriend knows nothing about routers or networks? If so, you must inform him manually set its IP address on his XBox to something that will be different from yours.

If it is not, then you will need to do some work. You will have to

-) First make you sure the XBox is off and do not use the internet and that your computer has access to the internet
-) are going to start-> run-> Type "cmd" without the quotes and press enter
-) type "ipconfig" (without the quotes again) and remember or note the number next to the default gateway. This is the address you put in the address bar of your browser to access your router. So go ahead and load up your browser and type in these figures as they appear and press ENTER.
(-) If you must enter a password and you do not know and that you did not change it then visit this site: http://www.routerpasswords.com/ I hope to find a. For example, the default connection to my router was "admin" and the password I have left empty for Linksys.
-) What you want to look for is the DHCP SERVER. You want to make sure that is enabled. This gives your computer and his XBox their own local IP address because it sounds like them trying to share the same local IP address and it's not good, because only one device may be using a local IP address.
(-) If it does not, then I would try and force his XBox to manually use a local IP address. Once again, if he does not know how to do this then try and follow these steps

+) Are going to start-> Control Panel-> network-> double click the internet connection you are using (connection to the Local network or network connection Wireless in most cases)
+) Click on the support tab and click on details and leave it on the screen
+) Turn on the XBox and go to every time that you change the connection settings and tell him that you want to manually configure network settings and for each witness, you will need to fill in, refer to the window you left open on your computer to fill. HOWEVER, the only thing that will change is the IP address on the XBox. The IP address that you see in the window of your computer will be something like 192.168.1.100. It's probably not the same thing, but in which it has four digits in all less nearby.
+) I want to do you is to copy whatever your computer has the IP address of the XBox, BUT NOT THE LAST NUMBER. So in this example, do not copy on the 100. Instead, whatever that last number, add 5 more to him and put this number in the XBox.
+) So if your computer you 192.168.1.100, your XBox will 192.168.1.105
+) Save your changes in the XBox and try and connect to the internet.

    I hope this works.

  • Acquisition of problem of network address

The OS is XP (SP-3). Trying to set up a wireless laptop - it works very well if connected via ethernet. We have another laptop which works without problems and logged before several other laptops without problem - so suspects don't not the router.

-Device Manager show (RT2500 Ralink) wireless adapter to work properly

    -WZC is enabled

-with active DHCP, the message is cycling between "absorbing the network address" and "not connected".

-IPconfig shows the 0.0.0.0 IP address

-Run IPconfig / release and / renew gave the message "no operation can be performed on the connectionwhile wireless there media disconnected." Also ' an error occurred during the renovation - the DHCP client obtained an address that is already in use.

-Enter the IP address manually produces (no active DHCP) a different effect. The message now cycles between 'connected' and not connected ' about every 3 seconds. IPconfig shows now the manually enterd IP address details. I tried several different numbers at the end of the address to ensure no conflict with other addresses.

    -repair of rand without success

    -restarted the router several times

-maximum strength of the wireless signal is available.

-not scanned with malwarebytes and tren micro - no problems.

-There are two installed versions of XP. Original (very slow) and recently reinstalled (works perfectly). The same behavior occurs in both versions of the operating system running.

Now, I can't find any other ideas of previous discussions in MS Answers. Can someone suggest a solution.

    Hello

Don't worry that WARNING connected to the router, in this context the 'server' is your router. Simply enter your username and password and click OK.

If a USB adapter has the same problem it eliminates pilots as something to worry about.

If it works well with the router of your daughter, then he must either be the router settings or router failure.

Do the other troubleshooting and let me know what happens.

Disable the 3rd part software admin wireless and just use Zero Windows wireless. It is easier for me because I have this knowledge. There are too many other utilities of party 3rd to give me specific instructions for them.
