X61s internal SD card reader vs Pro Windows7

I have a laptop Lenovo ThinkPad X61s PC with an internal Ricoh SD card reader that worked well until the upgrade to Windows7 Pro.  The device does not appear in Device Manager, but the lamp flashes during insertion/withdrawal of a card (regular or HC).  Has anyone in the community of ThinkPad found a resolution?

Well you send messages to a group of users win, not the Lenovo Forums

Did you first run the win7 compatibility checker before installing win7?

Did you visit Lenovo support to see if this model is compatible win7?

    Hello

Yes, this mass storage controller could be the card reader. So, you can try to reinstall the drivers, which can be downloaded here:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

or you can remove it from the Device Manager and restart your machine

or, if that didn't help then you should send your machine to a service partner chartered for an assessment of health/repair of equipment.

  • Xubuntu and internal SD card reader

I use Xubuntu (Fiesty & Gutsy) on my Portege A100 for several months now, and everything seems to work fine except for my internal SD card reader and the inactive recovery. I managed to solve the problem of the recovery by turning off suspend but haven't found anything + that could help get the work card reader.

If someone managed to solve this problem?

In your case, there is only a problem: Toshiba does not support Linux OS and there is no driver that can make the SD card works properly. What you can do is to visit a few pages on Linux on Toshiba laptops. You might find something there.

  • Internal SD card reader of the A200 Satellite no longer works

When I got to my Satellite A200 worked the internal SD card reader, and then after using it once it has never worked since then, and I got it almost a year now.

I was wondering if I m the only person having this problem or if someone could help me.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Dan

I assume that your problem could be linked to the SD card reader driver/software anomaly.
In most cases the installation of the new driver can help solve these annoying problems.

First, you need to go to Device Manager and must check the status of SD card reader. Sometimes a yellow exclamation point may appear if something is not wrong with the software or the driver for the SD card.

In any case, if the yellow exclamation point appears or not, you should remove the SD card from the Device Manager reader and reboot the laptop.

Then you should install the new downloaded SD card driver and need to check if a SD card compatible and taken in charge would be automatically recognized in the A200 SD card reader.

    Good luck Dan

  • Internal SD card reader does not recognize SD card

I have an internal SD card reader I have ever used before.  I am trying to download pictures from an sd card that I used on my desktop and it works fine, but when I insert in my laptop nothing happens. I went to start / my computer and there is no driver does not list other than my cd/dvd driver. How can I fix it?

Mini SD cards and adapters are the hassle that I connect
my phone with a USB cable for uploading photos.

    In any case...

The card reader should not require no installation. If this is not
recognized, it can be fried or it is possible, there could be a
    loose connection inside the housing.

  • Internal Ricoh card reader of W700 XP x 64

I am very pleased that lenovo has finally decided to release Windows XP x 64 drivers. However, the drivers for the internal SD Ricoh card reader do not work on my W700 (2757CTO). When I insert an SD card into the reader, the LED lights but no drive does appear in 'My Computer' or 'Management\Disk computer management. " The driver installation went well and allowed also Ricoh three controllers (Memory Stick, SD/MMC, xD-Picture Card) for Device Manager. The Panel "Add or remove programs" lists a "ver.3.58.01 R5U8xx RICOH Media Driver' that this is supposed to be. I tested on a XP minimum 64 over x and the same SD card works fine in other two readers of cards (USB and ExpressCard). I also have Vista, x 64, and 7 x 64 on the same computer and the drive works properly under the two BONES. Any suggestions?

    Thank you

I found a solution myself. The problem is not caused by the Ricoh/Lenovo drivers but by the Microsoft SD Bus driver, which does not support the SDHC. There is a hotfix for x 86 XP provided by MS (KB934428). For x 64 However there is only a non-official source:

    http://thehotfixshare.NET/Board/index.php?AutoCom=downloads&ShowFile=9395

The x 64 new driver is Microsoft as well and I don't know why they don't officially offer it on their own site. At least, after you install this fix my card reader SD working properly.

I could get online and chat with a support person.  They sent me a diagram of the mobo.  There is only a single connection to the Board of Directors.  That's the front USB ports.  There is no other connections.

I bought a pci card and plugged from the inside.

    Hello

    You receive an error message?

    Method 1:

I suggest you to see link and check.

A card Secure Digital (SD) may not be recognized on a computer Windows 7 Basic.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/981642

I also suggest you to run the fixit tool and check.

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us

    Method 2:

Check if the device is detected in Device Manager. Follow the steps to go to the Device Manager

    (a) click Start, type devmgmt.msc, and then press ENTER.

    (b) search for the name of the device

If the device is not detected in Device Manager, and check if it is the hidden device.

    (a) click view under view hidden devices

    (b) expand all winks in Device Manager

    (c) it would be multiple entries in the device in gray Manager uninstall all entries shaded under all the winks and then restart the computer and connect the external device to the computer and check if it works

    Method 3:

I would also update you card reader drivers and check.

  • Satellite U920T - SD card reader error

Toshiba U920T BSOD error and Windows 8.1 card reader

Whenever I do a scan operation, the Format, copy or Delete on my internal SD card I get this error.
    KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED or FAT_FILE_SYSTEM,

I have tested everything, all the drivers are updated, and it happens even with laptop in safe mode.

I even experimented with SD card formatted in Fat32, exFat and NTFS.

This happens with the internal drive, if I use an external SD card reader connected to USB, isn´t there is no problem, so there is no physical problem with the maps.

I use 2 SD, one of the other with 32 GB and 128GB.

If it is inserted 32 GB, I'm doing a drive > properties > scan and comes the BSOD saying FAT_FILE_SYSTEM without number

128 GB inserted, I do a scan and comes the BSOD saying KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED no number

Someone has an idea or my internal card reader must ensure?

It seems that the internal SD card reader does not support the cards inserted correctly.
According to the specifications of the laptop (user manual), the card reader supports SD, SDHC and SDXC cards card.

    Media card reader
SD cards up to 8 GB
    SDHC card (4GB / 8GB / 16GB / 32GB)
Card up to 64 GB SDXC

Where and when can I get an updated driver for the internal memory card reader?
I just tried to format a 8 GB Sony Memory Stick, but can only 3.5 GB format - after discussions with Sony and re-formatting on a Toshiba laptop not quite new, I reached the full format of 8 GB.

    Hi Martin

Compatibility with memory cards depends on the available hardware and not software!
This means that a update driver card reader won't help you!

First of all, you should check your user manual to see which cards are compatible with your internal card reader!
Generally, these details can be found in the manual pre-installed.

Model of laptop you know me not, but I doubt you'd be able to use the 8 GB Sony Memory Stick. Perhaps the size didn't is simply not supported.
