• XAV-601BT - no name of caller ID, without the audio without removal of the front plate

  Well, apart from the interface user terrible on my 601BT-XAV who deserves a bad firmware fix, my unit came with a few interesting problems:

  1 when a call comes in, the number is displayed, but the name of the contact is no longer.  When I go into my history of calls to unity, it displays the name of the appellant and the whole directory is in the main unit, if I open it to make a call, but incoming calls show the number only.

  2. the unit will sometimes have no audio when put on (when the car or device turns off).  Audio comes back if I go from the sources.  I can then move on to the previous source, but if I turn off the car or the unit I get the same thing.  Pulling the façade seems to zero something and it will work again for a while.  I don't remove the plate Assembly and even for troubleshooting I don't delete entirely because the right is a bear to get up again and the unit is so fragile, it feels like it will break.  But I'm glad that the device will beep whenever I stop the car to remind me to remove a mounting plate that I don't want and don't feel like I can remove it...

  Is there history with the 601BT being compatible with the new samsung galaxy sIII XAV? This phone uses mirror link.

  The XAV-601BT will support Samsung GalaxyS3 with MirrorLink after August 14 (available at esupport.sony.com) firmware update. Since the update of the firmware is scheduled for Aug. 14, the date may be subject to change without notice.

  I have a central unit with radio xav-602bt and would like to know. Currently I have the Xperia Z which works very well. The list of compatible phones website said the job of Z1 and Z2, but I don't know if the site should just update or if in fact the Z3 is simply not supported!

  Currently, it is not possible to take advantage of the Mirrorlink with the XAV72BT and any iPhone model.

  2 create a playlist that includes USB and USB video music?

  Unfortunately there is no shuffle a playlist which can include music and video via USB or USB video car.
  What you can do is to mix music USB found on page 25 of the users manual and you are able to sort the list of videos on the USB device on page 29:

  Can someone tell me if the Sony XA-NV200TL (browser plugin) is compatible with the XAV-701BT central unit?

  I bought both, but the connection of the module with USB for the 701BT gives me no "navigation" in the menu.

  Or do I need another firmware, the firmware I have now is HR13_xav_1.12.001.

• XAV-701HD questions, even after the update - changing Staion, no sound after the cycle of keys.

  I have a Sony XAV-701HD installed in my 09 Ram. I have had for a while now and still have problems even after the last update of the firmware. Since I installed the radio, the stations would change when I turn off the key and then restart the truck. Ususally a station off where I was listening. Then I noticed that when you listen to a CD, if I stop the truck, stop, and restart, I have sometimes no sound from the CD unit that change source to something else then back to CD. In addition, it seems to take an eternity for the CD start playing when I insert one, or when I start the truck every morning. Sometimes the CD start just up, other times not. Now, I've added SiurisXM to the unit, and I noticed that when I turn the key off the coast, and then back on, the device will not be playing Sirius Music until I have changing source, let the next launch of source for play, then switch back to sirius. I'm a professional installer, I know all my wiring is good, everything works. My Kenwood has worked perfectly in the same truck for 2 years before I changed to the Sony. Any ideas?

  
  

• Custom themes / backgrounds for XAV-64BT in dashboard cd/dvd drive?

  I was wondering if there is a way to load themes customized on this unit?  There are only 5 to choose, and it would be really cool if I could create my own and load them onto the device.  If someone has done this?

  going to do a quick summer of mail that has been deleted with the last forum

  reception of the radio - AM useless. A lot of pop and noise FM

  XM Radio.     -1/2 audio is in the boot of the car.  must pass entry

  FEATURE SET VERY POOR.  Unit I bought supports but the interface user and features are TERRIBLE.

  IPod - Capacity lost playing ipod a month after.  can scroll through songs and ignore them but will not play.   more choice songs is almost impossible as you drive.  iPod stolen last week so I guess I don't have to worry about that for now

  VOLUME - this one is boring the * out of me.   at least half of the time that I start the car, I can't control the volume of the main unit.  doesn't work on the remote control.  After a while of driving it usually starts to work on the main unit

  Here's some news that has just begun.  during the first 5 minutes of driving the car during the restart of the radio if I hit a bump.   can't ever after the first 5 minutes of driving.  wiring appears to be well

  Mirror link is a huge disappointment.  not really the fault of sony, but it seems that its dead in the water

  someone else is having problems I'm having?

  overall, the UI appears ill thought.  too difficult to choose a source.  too many distractions of the road while trying to change things.    I like the sound and BT seems to work well, but I do not buy another sony after that.

  I bought a car stereo 601BT Sony XAV in the hope to use my phones with MirroLink navigation application. I tried a Blackberry Curve (which he said that he supported). He did not, and I went to a gingerbread android (HTC Explorer). Does not work too. Now I have a Nexus 4, which of course does not work, with a message that says: USB device not supported. It's terrible here is anyphone it supports? What work aorunds do I, firmware updates or whatever it is on the stereo that can help?

At this time the only Android based phones supports mirrorlink is the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Samsung Galaxy 2 Note (Note 2 are not in the URL below, as it has been added).

  Have you already tried to install all the available sounds? One AST 10 GarageBAnd updates was supposed to have added Chinese Instruments: try ' GarageBand > solid library > download all the available sounds.
