Xbox 360 on laptop?

How can I connect my Xbox 360 to my laptop so I can use the screen as a screen? Im trying an hdmi cable, but nothing... Help, please

Very few portable supports HDMI input - most are only a HDMI output, which means that you can not connect an Xbox 360 console and watching on your laptop.

Check the specifications of your laptop to see if it supports a HDMI input.

  • Qosmio G20-139: use the laptop screen to play on the Xbox 360

Hi I have a question about the monitor function with the G20-139,

I have an xbox 360 and would like to know if there is a way to use laptops screen to play on the 360 in high definition or composite mode using the monitor function. With the laptop came a composite cable at one end and a sort of headphone 3.5 mm at the other.

I read the manual about the case and it does not work.

Any help would be appreciated thanks

    Hello

The port monitor - where you can connect with the composite cable can be used to display video from your digital camcorder, video game or VCR on the internal LCD screen. It can be used as a line-in port to allow the connection of a stereo device for audio input.

In my opinion, you also need this cable to connect the Xbox to the Qosmio with composite cable plug-in software component.
    http://www.madcatz.com/default.asp?page=257&CategoryImg=Xbox_360_Cables

Then to commence the Qosmio with the Monitor-in button that starts the Qosmio player.

Short answer: without additional hardware, no you can't play your xbox through your laptop. Those are video output devices only.

    Workaround solution:
Adaptec makes a product called the adaptec AVC-1400 gamebridge. You can buy this somewhere and maybe play your games on your laptop.

  • Bluescreens Vista laptop with ndis.sys when I connect Xbox 360 via Ethernet

I have a laptop with Windows Vista HPG5056EA. When I connect my Xbox 360 with an Ethernet cable, it bluescreens with the message:

    "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"... to it also States:

    ' * STOP: 0X000000D1 (0 X 00000200, 0X00000002, 0X00000000, 0X82D4CBA1).
    NDIS.sys - address 82D4CBA1 base at 82C7D000, DateStamp 479190e7 ".

To do this, no bluescreen at any other time. only when I connect the Xbox 360 to it.

I looked all over the internet and can safely rule out bad ram (as I changed it and the problem still happens).
Others have said that it is to do with the Realtek network adapter that is installed. I've updated this to the last version of driver with no improvement.

This problem has happened twice. The first was after installing some software Nero. I have uninstalled and rebooted and things were very good.

The second time was after installing software Ashampoo. I removed that too and things were good again.

This time, the only thing I installed before getting the blue screen is Microsoft Silverlight.  I uninstalled it but the blue screen issue continues.

I tried to use system restore too but the problem remains.

I tried to access the mini dump after the blue screen file, but the ' C:\Windows\Minidump\ folder is always empty, even if I choose 'partial memory (64 KB) image' in the "Write debugging information" parameters. "
(Some have said that the issue of minidump could not have enough memory, so with my laptop with 2 GB of RAM, I put the pagefile 3072 and had at least 7 GB of hard disk free space but I don't always get the minidump file).

If anyone can help with the blue screen I would be really really grateful that I no longer us Xbox Live.

    Features of the laptop:

    Windows Vista 32 bit
    RAM: 2GB
Processor: Intel T2080 1.73Ghz (Dual Core)

Thanks for your quick response. I had already tried most of what was suggested before you put this question up, without success.

However, I apparently managed to fix the problem (for now at least) using Device Manager to completely uninstall the Realtek network adapter and remove the driver. I restarted the laptop after this and Windows reinstalled automatically and hay presto, no blue screen when connecting to the Xbox!

I don't know if this is a permanent solution but if it starts to happen again, I'll try the same and let you know.

    Thanks again

I spent a few hours trying to solve this problem, and I've been to countless forums.  They all told me to go into "Manage network connections" and right-click-properties on my connection Wi - fi.  Then they speak by clicking on the tab sharing... which I did not.  I don't know how to share my connection to the WiFi with my xbox 360.  It is supposed to be easy, but I can't realize what is designed as "highly probable."  I have a laptop Sony Vaio VGN-FW390 and Vista Home Premium. Maybe I have to set up a connection to an access point, or do a sort of thing ICS... I do not know.  I am incredibly annoyed by this, and I'd appreciate any help.  Thank you.

    Messier,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.

Try this and see if it works for you, it has worked for some users.
With no cable connected between the computer and the xbox, go to control panel, network and sharing Center. You should see a "Local Area Connection", which will show disabled at this stage, and your "wireless network connection", which should show connected. Connect the ethernet cable to your laptop and the back of the xbox. Select the 'connection to the Local network. After that it is well connected, disable your 'Wireless Network Connection'. Once disabled, right click and click Properties. Go to the Advanced tab and check "allow other users of the network to connect through this computer's internet connection". Once this is done, your wireless internet connection should say shared next to the State of the connection.
Turn on your wireless connection. Then, right click to 'connect to the Local network' and click on repair. Allow the end. test the connection on your xbox.

Let us know how that works for you.

  • Network problem, Xbox 360, laptop Windows 7

Problem: My laptop does not connect to my xbox 360 via ethernet.
I ran into a problem trying to set up my xbox as a test ground for the xna development. My xbox is used to connect to xbox live through my old XP desktop, it refuses to acknowledge even my laptop with Windows 7. I tried a variety of bugs, including the network settings on the xbox and laptop of compensation, reinstall the drivers for the network card and copy network settings from my desktop to the laptop. I currently have unique network cable from my xbox to laptop. No I don't have a WiFi connection at home. However, I have a hub, but I know that xbox network adapters is able to switch so I don't see what difference that would make. Any ideas? Hi nmagness,

Please use the Microsoft Windows Forum.

    Top of page Solutions

Try these solutions in the order. If give you each one a shot and you can always connect, contact Xbox customer service.

    Solution 1: Check your network

Make sure that your PC is turned on and connected to the same network as your console. You can quickly do this by physically checking that your PC is turned on and all cables are in place, but you can check in 'ping' of your console to the PC. Ping from your console, you need the IP address of your console.

To get the IP address of your console:

    1. in the Xbox interface, go to my Xbox and open Control Panel.
    2. Select network settings, configure the network.
    3. on the basic settings tab, select IP settings.
4 enter the number of IP address (for example, 192.168.1.9). You can leave the network settings area, but leave your console.

Ping on your console from your PC:

    1. If it is off, turn on the Windows Media Center computer.
    2. click on start, run, then type CMD and press ENTER.
    3. at the command prompt, type PING and the IP your writing (for example, PING 192.168.1.9), and then press ENTER.
    4. If you see a series of replies, then your PC 'sees' your console. If you see a series of replies "Request timed" out, then it cannot find your console.

Again, make sure your console or PC are connected to the same network.

Solution 2: Check your PC firewall

Your PC can block your console to connect by using a firewall to filter traffic by blocking ports. You will need to open some ports to connect to your PC.

  • Trying to connect Xbox 360 to Internet using laptop with Windows 7, but am not finding the 'Share' button in the network connections and I don't have the ability to "bridge connections".

Sorry about the long title, but it pretty much says my problem. I am trying to connect my Xbox 360 to my Windows7 laptop with the ethernet cable. I have a home network that the wireless laptop works out of. When I go into the control panel network connections section, I can't find the 'Sharing' tab that says that every tutorial I can find there should be. Tutorials can say to go to the screen that shows your wireless connections, highlight your home network and the network to your Xbox and then right click and press "bridge connections". I do not have the option for bridge connections. Can anyone help?

After having connected the laptop and Xbox with an Ethernet cable, you should be able to enable sharing of Internet connection on the wireless network connection:

    1. Make sure that the two network connections are enabled.
    2. Right click on the wireless network connection.
    3. Click on Properties .
    4. Click sharing .
    5. Put a check mark in the check box under Internet connection sharing .
    6. Click OK .

After you enable ICS, not bridging the connections. Boulder computer Maven

  • My laptop sees my Xbox 360, but the 360 will not connect to the top of the Tower

I have a crossover ethernet cable

I tried everything, but the 360 will not find the network,

It saying that he "cannot obtain an IP address form the router or modem.

Your router or modem can be automatically assigns an ip address, you can try a static IP address instead

    DHCP Server IP address form

    Help please

    Hey tons-of-pleasure-101.

You can set a static IP address on the Xbox 360 by going to network settings and then manually enter an IP address.

    (1) type cmd in the start search field.

    (2) type ipconfig/all in this window, and then press the Enter key. This will display a lot of information.

    3) take down of the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and name servers. Be sure to note which is which.

    (4) type exit in this window, and then press the Enter key to close.

    (5) once more, open the start menu. This time, click on Control Panel.

    6) click view the status of network and tasks.

    (7) select the settings of map on the left side of your screen.

    (8) make a right click on your network adapter and choose Properties to open the properties of this internet connection window.

    9) click Protocol Internet Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), and then the properties button.

Until you make changes, write down the settings you see on this page. If something is wrong you can always change the settings back to what they were! You should see a point in the obtain an IP address automatically box.

    (10) choose an IP address and type in the IP address box. The ip address that you choose should be very similar to the ip address of the router. Only the last number of the ip address must be different.

    (11) put the previously found in section mask subnet mask subnet. The default gateway should enter in the default gateway box. Enter the dns servers we prevoiusly found in the two zones on the DNS server. Completely out of this menu, click OK.

That's all you should be done.

Once done, you must assign a static ip address for your xbox as well.
When you're done, between the two, the only parameter that must be different is the actual IP address. The gateway and subnet mask must be the same on your XBOX and PC LAN connection.

    Refer to this:

Can not get an IP address from your router or modem
    http://support.Xbox.com/support/en/us/NXE/xboxlive/troubleshooting/NetworkHelp_dynip.aspx

    This should be it.
