Xbox on pc vista

I'm trying to get tha 360 to post a link with my vista computer. I see the pc on the xbox and the xbox to the pc, but they do not speak. If that makes sense?

Hi Yfz450guy,

A. how you wired Xbox to your computer?

B. do you receive any errors?

Are c. you using a cable or a wireless connection

I bought an XBOX 360 Wireless Controller to my PC which is Vista 32. It worked at first and now it does not work... There is a lot of ppl with this problem with no will... Please help?

    cuzandlisa,
I have not had this problem myself.  But you might want to look at the troubleshooting on the Xbox site.
This page is especially for the Xbox to the PC controllers:
    http://support.Xbox.com/support/en/us/NXE/hardware/accessories/accessoriesforPC/ControllerforWindowsList.aspx

Hope that gives the info you need.  FYI: My first thought would be to uninstall\reinstall the driver.  Also make sure that your PC is up to date with updates.

Windows 7 was not my idea, but it still rocks! Soli Deo Gloria!

  • Configure the xbox with windows vista wireless controller

I recently bought a wireless Xbox 360 controller to use for playing mainly with Call of Duty 4 on my PC
I followed all the instructions and have the wireless receiver but cannot operate at all which is extremely frustrating
I have an install 32-bit windows vista Home premium
    Can someone please

    Hello Foxesfan1.

First step would be to ensure that the controller is actually seen correctly by Windows.  I'll assume that you have already synced the controller and the wireless receiver by pressing the button on the receiver and the little one on top of the controller.

To make sure that the controller is configured correctly in Windows start tying the game controllers in the box start the search on Windows 7, the option is called installation USB game controllers.  It could be called game controllers or something similar on Windows Vista, I have here in front of me to check.

Anyway it should open a window called game controllers, the controller must be in there, in this case click Properties and check that all buttons work properly.

If it is then its probably does not work because Call of Duty either is not setup in support of controllers (a ride in his options to enable the controllers support), or simply does not support at all, not all areas of PC games. • Xbox 360 and Vista Media center (understand not found)

I've looked everywhere I can think and have not been able to find an answer to this far (including the green button forums)

After you run the transfer Assistant to move things to the Media Center and use as a desktop pc, the xbox 360 and Media Center cannot find the other and settings, I can see the xbox inside network but devices Media Center doesn't see it and I get the infamout (extender not found error).

configuration is a wired connection via a belkin router, network configuration has not changed and the media center has been able to connect to the xbox previously, I tried several things so far

-uninstalled onecarelive and disabled the firewall (one of the problems solved but are still unable to find the xbox)
-reset the xbox to factory settings
    -check the firewall router so
-installed all the updates that are known for pc and xbox including SP2

Here's the event codes that I get when you try to configure the Extender, it shows correctly configured but yet I get the error not found "extender".

  • Vista Media Center and my Xbox 360 extender connection

Hi I have a problem connecting my xbox 360 and my windows vista media center. Everytime I try I get the message saying that it can't find the range extender and suggests that it is one of the following three things

    (1) the Extender is turned on and connected to the network

It's on and it appears as an icon of the xbox 360 in my network on the vista machine and can connect to the internet, so I guess the network very well.

    (2) that the code is correct

It's that I checked it about 30 or twice now.

    (3) UPnP does not work properly

I guess that's the problem but cannot figure out how to solve. I have a BT Homehub router. I've implemented through active UPnp. I even tried to disable the firewall completely on it and on vista, it made no difference to the port forwarding doesn't seem to be the answer.

Help please it is one of the main reasons I got an xbox 360 and vista

    Paul.

  • Windows Vista Home Premium cannot find Xbox 360 as extender

This may be long but im giving information as possible.

I'm good with the computer. My Vista Home Premium computer cannot find my xbox 360 as an Extender. When I use the WIndows media player 11 and share, he sees my xbox very well. Zune software, same thing. My xbox 360 is here no problem on my network in "My Network Places".

In Media Center, once I typed the 8 digit number it is said that he can not find the Extender. I did the following:

    Reset my router
    Reformat my computer
    Reset my xbox 360
Double checked I got the right 8-digit number in media center
    Disabled windows firewall
Went to the tab exceptions and compatible: WIndows Media Center, Media Center Extender, eshell.exe, discovery network
went to the management of the computer and turned on UPnP device host (changed the startup type to automatic and restarted my computer)
Permit "filter multicast" in my router settings
UPnp enabled in my router settings
Upgrade Vista (with SP1 as well)
Re-installed the drivers for my wireless card
Connected to the Xbox 360 WIRED to my router

Heres the funny thing, I have a Sony laptop vaio with Windows Media Center Edition 2005 on the same network that sees my xbox all the time. Its actually connected through a microsoft extension program (XboxMCE05Lite - enu.exe) basically it works fine.

One funny thing that may help with my vista (Home premium) Windows Remote Assistant machine fails or the other.

Any ideas? If this can help, too, this computer is built on the ground.  Sense, this isn't a HP, Dell, Sony, etc.

    Network equipment:
    Router Linksys WRT54G
Map of Netgear WG311v3 54 Mbps Wireless

works fine with my other laptop. So I guess that the problem must be my wireless card. I guess that's a PCI card it would have nothing to do with the problem. I'm going tomorrow to buy a NIC. USB Im not in a race simply because my internet works very well without getting a new network card. I am just puzzled and would like to get this to work because I hate running through computer problems and in abeyance. I'll get one tomorrow and let you know the guy.

  • Can I play Xbox 360 games on my Windows Vista laptop?

    From: Scott

I just got a new laptop because my old is dead and it is running vista and it has a socket to plug a x box 360 control in and theres all this hype x box 360 and vista together so I was wondering, that would happen if I stick a 360 game disc in the computer. so, what would I be able to play this match as if it were a x box 360 with a computer instead of a TV screen or it would destroy my laptop I need to know. I mean I'd be pised if I went and spent the money on a 360 and then discovered that I could have just played on my computer.

To put it simply, can I play a box x / x box 360 game on my laptop.

    From: Dale M. White

    Simple answer No

Longer answer, no. Xbox306 games are written for PowerPC, which if I remember correctly a RISC based chips and Intels\AMDs are CISC based chips.

The excitement of Xbox360 and Vista, was more in the sense to implement the sharing of multimedia files and at some point, but always on paper. Set up the games between a PC and a Player X 360, through their Xbox live, to talk to inluce to link your xbox live with the X 360 has.

  • cannot fill connections for xbox 360 on my home pc with vista

I'm really bad at bridge my connections to go on xbox live! IM using vista 32 bit and I have the image of ethernet and my conection internet when I try to fill happens to create a network connection, I need to select at least two LAN or HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTIONS WHO DO ARE NOT CURRENTLY USED BY SHARING of INTERNET CONNECTION with... now my home pc has no wireless so is there a way I can do please help

I recommend you to get a new router, ethernet and wireless on this subject.  Who would set will cost you about £40.  Looks like you got just an ADSL USB modem at the moment.  Which, as you have noticed can be kind of annoying, and it's something that will only get worse in the wire of the time that you want to hang more things on the internet.

You can use sharing of internet connection - which will transform your PC into a router, but in my opinion, you'd be better off with a long time dedicated hardware router.  Use internet connection sharing, you will need to cross style ethernet cable that goes between the PC and the Xbox 360 and you would need to go to the Network Center and sharing-> change map settings-> right-click on your key USB modem go to properties and there you can enable internet connection sharing. • Cannot connect Xbox 360 Elite to runnings Windows Vista PC

After surfing the internet for hours, I really need help with this problem...

I am trying to connect my Xbox 360 Elite to my PC running Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit).

I can connect to Xbox Live without any problems, and the Xbox also appears in the network view in Windows (and in WMP11 media sharing).

The Xbox also discovers the PC and COMPUTERNAME:username display on the screen. But when I try to connect the Xbox since it does not work. I have tried many solutions and advice found on the internet, but I can't work.

I also tried to use the Media Center and connect the Xbox as an Extender. Does not work either.

Is there a setting somewhere in Vista that keeps me?

    Hi Christian,

    ·        You receive an error message when you try to connect to the Xbox?

    ·        You are able to access the Xbox from the PC?

You can try to temporarily disable the security software and third-party firewall on the computer and check if you can access the computer of Xbox. If you are able to access, you can contact the manufacturer of security software and firewall manufacturer to check if you need to change the settings. Subsequently re - activate the firewall and security software after verification.

You can also post your question on the xbox forum and check if you can find any suggestion that can be tried to solve the problem of connectivity to the xbox. Access the link below to post your question in the Xbox forum.

  • Windows Vista Ultimate Media Center cannot connect to Xbox 360

Hi, I can not connect my PC Ultimate Windows Vista for my Xbox 360 as an Extender. My configuration is:

Xbox connected to the router, PC connected to the router
Xbox connects to Live (e.g. internet) very well
    PC connects to the internet

Here is a list of the things I've tried so far:

Tried to connect Xbox normally (using the digit 8, many times)
    Computer restarted/Xbox
    Reset the router
    Installed all Windows updates
    Turned off the Windows Firewall
Turned on Windows Firewall, with exceptions for Media Center Extenders
Opens the ports on my router
    UPnP enabled on the router
    Unchecked "filter multicast" on router
Updated drivers for the network adapter on PC
Checked the event viewer for a conflict event program:
    Source: Media Center Remote Manager
    Event ID: 8
Description: Unauthorized window was detected while running the Media Center experience, Program_name window, under the name of file Program_name.exe
I tried to delete the certificate (it did not exist) for Media Center according to the http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/932163. I could not uninstall the Extender (part II) well because it is not installed.

I am pretty sure that the problem is with the Xbox or PC (and not on the network), since up to last month, I've had a laptop XP Media Center using the Xbox as an Extender very well, using settings and identical network hardware. In this context, I unplugged the connection of the laptop Media Center Xbox, and I erased the extender connection data according to the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932208/en-us. (This does not work either.)

Notice that I can see the Xbox when you view the network on my PC devices.

I've been at this for hours! Thanks in advance for any help.

What anti-malware-virus\firewall\anit programs you have installed?  You can try adding it after a clean boot to try to exclude another program interfering.
You can also run System File Checker to help eliminate a possible corrupted system file.  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

How can I get my xbox 360 controller to work with my computer?... I can't even recognize the hardware? Im running Vista 64 bit on a quad core rig any help would be appreciated... Thank you

    Hello Ghostdogaln.

How do hang you the controller?  You must either use a * wired * controller, or use a wireless controller with receiver game Xbox 360 for Windows.

If you use a wireless with a Play and Charge kit controller, it will not work as long as the USB cord only actually plug into the battery for the controller itself. * original title - I have windows xp and xbox kinect, trying to connect my xbox to my pc, so I have to upgrade my pc *.

    Hello

Windows 7 is the latest operating system. Here are some keys or Windows 7 featuers:

    a. loads programs faster

    (b) stops faster

    c. faster switches

    (d) better use of memory

    e. provides a full recovery of the system easier if there is a hard drive or a computer failure.

    f. makes it easier to see, find, and manage icons. Preview in full screen in the bar tasks allows you to save time by making it faster and easier to click open files and windows.

    OT:

    Please help with this

Try this: go to "Start" then go to "Computer" right click on computer and left-click 'manage '.

This will bring you to the management of the computer. From there, you should see the drive. Try "initialize disk".

If you are not the "backup operator" or the "Administrator", then go to the control panel - system tools

-Administrative Tools, then click on "disk management". From there, you can follow these instructions.

    Initialize new disks

Backup operator or administrator is the minimum number of members required.

    To initialize new disks
    1. In disk management, right-click the disk you want to initialize, and then click Initialize Disk.

    2. In the dialog box initialize the disk , select the disk to initialize. You can choose to use the master boot record (MBR) or the style of partition GUID partition table (GPT).

    Note

The disk is initialized as a basic disk.

    Additional considerations

    • New disks appear as uninitialized. Before you can use a disk, you must first initialize it. If you start disk management after the addition of a disk, the disk initialization Wizard appears then you can initialize the disk.
