  • What are the best export settings for a first Pro CS4 video HD?

    Hello!

I had so much trouble with this issue and that's something that continually frustrates my boss. I have a HD video what are the settings for it

    23.98 FPS

    1920 x 1080, then a few lines down he says 1408 x 792

    16-bit,

    2 channels

    48000 Hz

What should be the parameters when I do a new sequence?

When I look into the window in Premiere Pro I constantly have to "shrink" the image to fit the window, is that something I should do or he says that the configuration of the sequence is bad?

But more importantly what should be the parameters of export? I exported a long video of 4 minutes and the size was 1 GB, I know that it's too big.

I need to export without losing quality and export another one which is consistent with the limits on the size of Youtube and Vimeo.

Vimeo is 500 MB per week, sometimes I download 4 videos per week. I think that Youtube, you can download 500 MB at a time.

I need to get the smaller size with lose the least possible quality AND the best export quality settings, so I suppose I have 3 separate issues.

What are the best settings of sequence for HD video?

What are the best export settings for HD without losing quality?

What are the best export settings for the size of out about 500 MB with losing the least possible quality?

Hello. I want to create a dual-boot installation, both using Win XP Pro SP3 on a large hard drive while having an extended partition available for data. I expect in the next two years, going to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro. Put the two primary partitions to 20 GB enough or should I go ahead and do 40-50GB each in preparation for a future upgrade. Thank you!

20 GB is too small to install and run Windows 7 well.  I'd go with 40 to 50 GB. Boulder computer Maven

Since it is a Dell computer, chances are a Norton or McAfee free trial is preinstalled. When you have done the clean install, the free trialware would have ALSO reinstalled (but not valid now).  Let's see if the execution of two removal tools & a few tweaks resolves the behavior.

[You can print these instructions for reference offline. [If a step said to restart, restart! ]

    1. click right on the following link to download the Norton removal tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

1B. right click on the following link to download the tool McAfee Consumer Product Removal, save it to your desktop: http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

  • Show contents of window while dragging doesn't work, XP Pro SP3

The option to display transparent versions of file icons when they are dragged in a different window is no longer works in my XP Pro SP3 installation.  "Control Panel-> system-> Advanced-> Performance settings-> see the window contents while dragging" is selected and remains selected after restarts.  The HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\DragFullWindows registry entry is set to 1 and the remains after restart.  This is a Dell computer, but I have no Dell Multimedia Experience installed, which is not the problem because it's with a lot of people.

This setting has worked for years on this machine and work stopped for no apparent reason a few days ago.  It works on another identical machine, which makes things even more strange.  What could possibly happen?  Thanks for any help you can give.

In case anyone has the same problem and comes across this, I managed to solve this problem (and the infamous 100% of svchost CPU problem) by applying this fixit. I have no idea why this fixit has something to do with "show window content while dragging", but it worked.

Moreover, this forum software is atrocious.  I can't mark my answer as the answer just because I wrote it?

  • Problems with sound: XP Pro, SP3

    Hello experts:

I'm at my wits end. I can't get my sound to work after a charging system.

    I did this:

-Re-partitioned, formatted my hard drive.  Loading XP Pro, SP3. Had no problems.

-Loading the appropriate drivers, including AC 97 Audio Realtek and Realtek high Definition Audio Driver.

    Current state:

-Control Panel, sounds and Audio devices: "Volume", not "No audio device" tab, all gray. "The audio tab, no device, all gray." Tab Voice", all gray. "Material" tab, everything is listed, in order to include the Realtek High Definition Audio. Also listed are the "Audio Codecs", "Media control devices", "Legacy Audio Drivers", "Video Codecs.

-Control Panel, administrative tools, Services, Windows Audio: "on the road", "automatic".

-My computer, hardware, Manager of devices, "audio, video, and game controllers.  Everything is there. This is the same list as above to include the Realtek High Definition Audio.  There is no yellow marker.

-My computer, hardware, peripherals, reviews, hidden devices Manager: there is a yellow marker on the icon 'Serial '. When I right click on this icon, it looks for material changes.  No change of material found and the yellow marker remains on the icon of the series.

-Volume control: when I click on the volume control icon, "there are no active mixer devices. Go to control panel, click Printers (huh?) and other devices and then click Add Hardware. When I do that it can not find NEW hardware, but it does not list the same elements as above to include Realtek High Definition Audio.  The volume control is a 'single '.  I remember well he was a multi balance settings with other cursor.  Don't know if that makes a difference.

-BIOS: I have the latest update for my processor.

So, I'm hunting my tail here.

About five years ago, I remember having the same problem when I did the same thing: partition / format / reload XP Pro / SP3.  AND... I remember well, I ended up doing back SP3 to SP2.  I think that's what I did, but, in any case, I finally got the proper functioning...

    Clearly, I forgot something.

    Hello

I suggest check the chipset on the computer drivers to update, by contacting the manufacturer of the computer, check to see if it helps.

Important: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Method 1: Turn on the Audio device in BIOS

    (a) turn on your computer and access your BIOS settings. The key of the keyboard in question varies according to the manufacturer of the motherboard. In general, the key to the BIOS is disclosed at the bottom of the screen during the Power-on Self Test process. Access usually consists of the F1, F2, F10 or delete key.

    (b) go to the 'Advanced' in the BIOS section. Go to the 'Onboard' or 'Device Configuration' option by pressing "Enter". The sound settings are usually under "Audio Controller" or any other similar configuration related to the sound.

    (c) press 'Enter' to turn on or off the sound setting at hand. Note that these options vary according to the motherboard, even if they are the default settings that are programmed into a computer's BIOS.

    (d) press F10 to save and exit the new settings.

Method 2: Uninstall the audio codes and drivers installed

    (a) open Control Panel and double-click the system icon.

    (b) select the hardware, and then click the Device Manager button.

    (c) add to the list "Sound, video and game controllers". Double-click the Audio Codecs or video Codecs item to display a list of the installed codec.

    (d) select one of the codecs and either remove this codec from the system or turn it off.
Note: To be on the safe side, always create a system restore point before removing or reinstalling the codecs.

    (e) restart the computer and check if that helps.

    Reference: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283658

    Method 3: Install the drivers.

    Download the right drivers http://pcidatabase.com

Find details such as the device ID and the ID of the seller

Use the Add Hardware Wizard and get audio device and the corresponding model

Step 1: Install Audio drivers using the Add Hardware Wizard

    (a) click Start and then click Control Panel.

    (b) double-click Add Hardware. The Add Hardware Wizard will begin.

    (c) click Next. The wizard will search for any new Plug and Play devices on your system.

    (d) the next screen will ask you if you have already connected the hardware on your computer. Select Yes.

    (e) a list of all the devices installed on your computer appears, if the device that you want to install is not listed, go to step 8.

    (f) If your device is listed, click the device to highlight, and then click Next.

    (g) a screen a message stating that "this device works correctly. Click Finish to complete the wizard, your hardware is set up OK and you don't need to continue with this process.

    (h) in the list of devices, select the option "Add new device" and then click Next.

    (i) to the next screen, select the option "Install the hardware that I manually select from the list (user)" and then click Next.

    (j) to select the type of device you are installing, in the list, for example if you install a select graphics display adapters and then click Next.

    (k) the following screen will show you a list of manufacturers and models. Click on Have Disk.

    (l) you should now point the wizard to the location of the driver. Click on the Browse button.

    (m) on the next screen, under look in, select the drive that contains your drivers

    (n) below to look at in the section may appear a list of folders. Choose the correct path for your driver. (Location of the downloaded driver)

    (o) click Open.

    (p) a confirmation of the way of your driver will now be displayed. If they are correct, click OK.

    (q) if the driver for the hardware has not been tested for Windows XP, you will get a message "the driver is not digitally signed" - informing that the software did not for Windows XP logo. Please continue

    (r) you should now have the exact device you want to install displayed on the screen (or a small selection of similar devices. If so, choose the appropriate device). Click Next.

    s) click Next. The driver will now be installed. You can still get the Windows test message from Windows XP logo, click on continue.

    (t) the wizard will ask you once it has finished installing the driver. Click Finish.

    (u) you may be prompted to restart your computer.

Step 2: Drivers of Audio using INF file installation

    (a) access Driver download folder and search the INF file

    (b) make a right click on the INF file (extension should end in. (INF).

    (c) choose the installation option.

    (d) restart Windows.

Try to start your system from a "Live Linux" CD free.  This CD runs a version of Linux without installing anything on your hard drive.  To create the CD, you download a file ".iso" and feature "Burn Image" of your CD burner to create a bootable CD.  The advantage, that you win, is that Linux is a lot less strict with permissions, so you should be able to access your files and copy them to a USB device.  Some Linux Live CD are:
    Knoppix: <> http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html >
    Ubuntu: <> http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/try-ubuntu-before-you-install >
Ubuntu is actually an installation disc, so be very careful to follow the 'Try Me' instructions so that don't accidentally install you it on your hard drive.

An another boot CD, you might try is "Hiren".  It is in fact a version of "First environment" of Windows XP, so you could get access to some files that you would otherwise not not when starting on this disc.

  • Windows xp pro sp3 will not start corrupted boot.ini and hal.dll - please help

I installed Norton 360 offred via internet was last updated.  It immediately launched all applications previously disabled at STARTUP in msconfig.  And shortly after he started to gives me the blue screen "to the death".  This done in two days, and I was desperately trying to solve the problem by turning off almost all applications critical to running Windows XP Pro SP3, Norton and Office 2007 Home and student.  I even went and tried to edit the Boot.ini file in startup and recovery under the Advanced tab in the workstation properties.  Now all I get is an error message Windows cannot start because the hal.dll file is missing or damaged.  I replaced it by copying a modified version of the boot sequence, while the hard drive of my laptop was enslaved to my desktp PC, but nothing helped.  I can't even the Recovery Console to start on my laptop.  I need HELP, please.

These profile errors are usually caused by one of the following:

1-profile corruption.  The user profile is damaged and that Windows cannot load.  To resolve this issue, create a new user profile and move your files to the new profile.   See here for more information:

How to copy data from a corrupted to a new profile in Windows XP user profile

2 drives or corruption of the file system.  Run chkdks /f on the volume C:.  Please note that there is ALWAYS a risk of data loss when chkdsk is run on a volume, ideally, you should have a backup of your files before running chkdsk.

3 - virus or malware activity.  Some of these parasites can revoke your permissions on the folder of your profile, check the permissions on "C:\Documents and Settings\Andre" and make sure you have a full control on the folder.  Check this box until you try #1 or 2 above.

Some of these parasites can also revoke your permissions in key areas of the registry and create real Dany on the machine that can prevent you to run some of your software.  Use Regedit to load your old profile hive (NTUSER. (DAT) in your profile folder (C:\Documents and Settings\Andre\NTUSER. (DAT) and make sure you have full control over the key.  In the advanced security settings to ensure that the child objects are inherit permissions from the parent and put a check mark on "replace entries permissions for all child objects...". "Click on apply and OK your way out.  See here for easy to follow instructions for loading and editing of remote registry hives: http://www.rwin.ch/xp-live/regedit.htm make sure you unload the hive when you're done, otherwise the changes will not be saved.

These parasites can also revoke permission on the other key of registry and system files, you can use SubInACL to restore your permissions on these key objects, see here for more information:

  • Internet connection with XP Pro SP3 and Airport Extreme - possible only Internet with no secruity, WEP - "status is always acquiring network address.

IMac seen the router and connected flawlessly, Sony Vaio however under secruity always gives me "absorbing the network address", I was looking around and heard xp pro sp3 has problems with wpa2 so I changed the settings for wep on apple Airport extreme and it STILL does not work. If I have no secruity that it picks up the signal from the internet and everything is fine. I tried to update the drivers for the wireless LAN card already, any input would be great

SOLVED... apparently xp pro sp3 has problems with wpa2, it refuses to connect. I went to settings on extreme airport secruity but wep was not an option, I had to click on OPTION on my MAC keyboard, then click the settings secruity and wep is there, so I removed all the "preferred networks" and restarted the process 'learning' on the vaio and everything's fine. I want to share folders on my xp pro sp3 PC. How can I configure it so that a login prompt appears when users connect to it as \\ip\shared... ?

    Hi Kelvin,

You can share a folder on your XP by the listed method: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040

Others have an option to connect to your pc as a guest, to make interactive you will need to click on start-> run, type &-> gpedit.msc

Navigate to Computer Configuration-> Windows settings-> Security-> Security Option settings. On the right side, look for-> ' access network: model sharing and security for local accounts "-> double click and select-> classic-Local user authenticate.

Now another pc you can access this computer and you will be asked for the username and password.

    I hope this helps.
