I do a new repair install using the correct windows disc? Update C80003FA error code and AutoCorrect cannot correct problem (States: failed). Thank you

    Hello

If the DVD you have is Microsoft Vista DVD (retail or OEM System Builders DVD sales) that you have bought yourself that shouldn't be the problem with a repair installation, because they contain the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Information from Microsoft about this update error code points to the problems related to the Internet.

  • Is it possible to do a repair install on an OEM system to solve problems of SFC. Can if so someone help?

When I do a SFC his only to 96% and say there are files that cannot be fixed, I checked the CBS but it seems that the same files are in for repair twice with success. I don't want to do a clean install, because it means losing 16 months of updates, drivers, patches and programs. Some OEM recovery disks can be used to repair, depends on this PC manufacturer.

Please return your previous post. You seem to have the impression that your computer is malware free since you did a scan with Kapersky. I know me. No anti-virus or malware scanner has a 100% detection rate. For this reason, you need to scan with several scanners.

Open Control Panel > user accounts > click "Change the way users log on and out". Place a check mark in the check box use the Welcome screen.

  • Trying to do a clean install of Vista 64 but only gives the repair installation option

I think I got a virus and it got to the point that I can not go on my computer safe mode. I got my drive and put it in. Unfortunately he gave me the opportunity to do a repair install (which wouldn't help because the virus would still be on the computer) or reinstall windows, but if I did, he said he would keep my old files in a special folder, thus keeping the virus. I canceled the installation and restarted my computer to look over all the other options, but now it just goes to something automatic repair windows instead of the thing to install vista. Any help? I can post other info if necessary.

    Hello Locust103,

Your PC is only blue screening after entering the windows environment, this Safe Mode or in Normal Mode. Reinstall works, initially, in the windows environment. In many cases, blue screens are attributed to hardware problems.

If you look at the article that the link in my original post is to scroll down to step 15 in article. In the screenshot, you'll see a checked option "Drive Options (Advanced)." When you install windows and go to this step, if you click the Options to drive another series of option is displayed. example of Format. If you click the format option that your disc/partition will be wiped, everything on this drive/partition will be deleted. Once the disk has been formatted, you can continue to install a completely fresh copy if Windows on your system.

The Windows installation will normally restart your PC twice or three times before finishing the installation.

  • How to install Win 2000 form a USB CD on a protected 3440CT

I have a 3440CT protected and are in need of repair/install Windows 2000 on a CD. I have the 4 game Win2k boot disk and can boot from USB FDD. The CD player is also a USB port that is connected via the port replicator, but he never saw also available.

What I need to do to be able to see the CD drive for installation of windows?

    Any help much appreciated.

    Sam.

    Hello Sam

I have never done this, but I assume that you need DOS driver for the external hard drive. You must start the unit by using the startup disk, install the correct driver, and after that, I think that you will be bale to use external player of ODD.

Please check that a little this Portege category and you will find a lot, but really a lot of topics with the same theme and a lot of interesting observations and proposals how to proceed.

  • HP EliteDesk 705 G2 MT: windows 10 tries to install windows 10

I bought a new HP EliteDesk 705 G2 MT Desktop, with 10 Windows installed and every day after that I turn it on, it did a restart planned to install "Upgrade to Windows Home version 1511 10, 10586". I can't stop this restart, and it does not level to something new?

    How can I stop this?

    quark_uk

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about the problem of repeated upgrade Win10 and wanted to help.

If you bought this PC last fall, it sounds like he's trying to make the November update - again and again.

This update changed the OS release Win10 10240 to 10586.

To see what version you have, open a command window and enter "winver" (without the quotes).

"If who says NOT version 1511 release 10586.nnn, then it is the update of November" probem "- and you can work around this by forcing your PC in the new release to make something known as a repair installation. It is less destructive of all functions of Windows recovery and rewrites the files from Windows system, including drivers, leaving your apps, settings and data intact.

To do this, you will need to use the link to the installation media to download Win10 and burn a DVD or create a USB key: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10

Note that when you download and build install media, the default tool corresponding to what is already installed on your PC (as in home for the House, and 64-bit to 64 - bit).  While you CAN change these settings, are NOT.  If you do, the media that results will be different and will force you to enter a NEW product code.

Once you have that media, follow the instructions in the link: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repair-install-windows-10-place-upgrade.html

    Good luck
