XP Service Pack 3 KB936929

I can't install Service Pack 3. I have disabled the anti-virus programs, wrote to Microsoft, spent hours searching forums. The code KB93629 happens. Where can I go for help? I find no phone number even if the site says that it is available. Does anyone else have this problem?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

WinXP SP3 - read all the prerequisites for a successful installation
http://msmvps.com/blogs/harrywaldron/archive/2008/05/08/Windows-XP-SP3-read-all-prerequisites-for-a-successful-installation.aspx

Free installation and unlimited compatibility support for WinXP SP3 is available since April 14, 2008 to May 2009.  This support will cost you 59 US$ or more per incident now.

Note: Extended Support for WinXP (x 86) SP2 ends July 13, 2010. After this date, computers that run Windows XP SP2 will NOT be offered additional security updates critical (x 86), automatic updates do not work, and Windows Update Web site is not accessible until SP3 is installed.

Does that mean if my version of Windows is no longer supported?

  • Cannot install Windows XP Service Pack 3 (KB936929) - HELP!

I am running Windows XP Professional.  I had a few problems with this computer, and this is one that I rarely use.  Her husband used to surf with.  I came across a software today I tried to load on that gave me the message that it had installed SP3.  She was never installed on this machine.  Then I tried to install most of the afternoon and it will not be installed.  I can't follow the troubleshooting because the only way I can open popup windows as this one is in the browser firefox and not Internet Explorer and you cannot run process in firefox (duh).

I read every tip I could find.  I have copied a few new dll on the computer file, made a clean boot, deleted all antivirus programs on the computer.  Can someone help me please?  It could very well be linked to the problem of he I n opening pop-up windows or Active X.

    Thanks in advance.

SP3 was released two years ago: how is it that you get only to install it now?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?  Who were these applications that run in the background when you tried to install SP3?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

  • I need Service Pack 3 for XP64 upgrade to Windows 8, but it is not available when I try Windows Update.

My OS is XP64 SP2. I tried to update several times without success. I also downloaded the Service Pack 3 (KB936929) Documents and Windows but could not install. I'm normally more patient in waiting for Service Packs to appear as updates, but I want to move to the installation of 64-bit Windows 8.

You also cannot upgrade Xp to Windows 8. You must perform a clean installation. See the upgrade of Windows 8 paths.

  • Someone help me to download service pack 3 for windows xp?

I just reinstalled xp on my computer. I went to the microsoft website to download xp service pack 3 and this is the error message I receive: WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3 - x 86 - ENU.exeCannot save because of insufficient permissions. Please save to a different location.

    Someone help me please?

    For reference:

Ted, you post frequently and keep having what seems to be the same problem!
It is important to use ANOTHER PC to download WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3 - x 86 - ENU.exe on a USB flash drive.
Also, we don't REALLY know what you were doing. Tell him you 'just reinstalled xp on my computer' told us not many. We do not know whether it was an attempt to a clean install, a repair facility, or a parallel installation or if the attempt was successful.
If your goal is to perform a clean installation, let us know if we can give you very specific instructions!
  • Can I both service pack 2 and 3 using my computer?

I have the two service pack 2 and 3 given that this computer is new to me I do not know if it had two service pack 2 and 3. Should I have them both? The computer is running very slowly and im trying to find the problem. They take a LOT of space... Thank you

If you have installed Windows XP Service Pack 3, you don't need Windows XP Service Pack 2.

But before you delete something, please point out what exactly you look - because if you have installed SP 3, you should not see anything on the Service Pack 2 (except if it is the file named standalone download WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2 - ENU.exe).

In fact, after that SP has been installed, you need more file standalone download for Service Pack 3 or the document (WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3 - x 86 - ENU.exe).

  • Toshiba Satellite Pro A10, Windows XP Service Pack 2

    Hello world
    "I have a ' Toshiba Satellite Pro A10: P4 - M 2.2 GHz/XP Pro/15" TFT/40 GB / 768 MB.
I have installed Windows XP Service pack 2 in my book.
After the update to Windows XP SP2, the only way to start my computer after putting in "sleep mode" or "hibernation mode" is witch power off and then start up.
I reinstalled "Toshiba Power Saver", but nothing came of it.

What can I do about it?

    Kind regards
    Krasteff

Obviously the Service Pack 2 does not match current preinstalled saver.

First installation, you have is to wait for an updated version of Toshiba Power Saver, which is XP Service Pack 2 tested. But so far, you have no "Standby" or "hibernate".

Installation of the second. If you need to "Standby" or "Hibernate" feature, uninstall Service Pack 2 and wait until there is a solution to the problem of energy saving.

The two sounds is not perfect, but I think the second installation is the best way. Toshiba will surely bring a new Service Pack 2 tested Power Saver version.

    Good bye

  • Office XP Service Pack 3 update on Satellite A50

Have experienced problems trying to update for office XP on the web site of MS on the A50. Machine came pre-installed with XP Professional Office but disks have not been provided, Microsoft recommends using OfficeXpSp3-kb832671-fullfile - enu.exe in this case, but it has not installed. They also recommend asking for Office of the OEM installation floppies when success cannot be achieved. Must be written to Toshiba.
Has anyone managed to update to SP3 without the installation disc?

    Hello

I see you have already posted the topic once. I think that it s better to keep everything in a single thread. :)

In your situation, I would do the following: install the service pack and if he luckily successfully, you can always go back with the system restore option. There should also be an option during the installation of the Service Pack to save files to "going back."

    See you soon

    Hello

As far as I know on Toshiba laptops, you won't find any XP desktop software pre-installed. On some devices, you will find the Microsoft OneNote and is NOT the same as Office XP software!

In this case, you need to use the original CD of Windows Office XP to install this product on you laptop computer. If you have no Office XP so I put t understand why you want to install updates
