Can I both service pack 2 and 3 using my computer?

I have the two service pack 2 and 3 given that this computer is new to me I do not know if it had two service pack 2 and 3. Should I have them both? The computer is running very slowly and im trying to find the problem. They take a LOT of space... Thank you

If you have installed Windows XP Service Pack 3, you don't need Windows XP Service Pack 2.

But before you delete something, please point out what exactly you look - because if you have installed SP 3, you should not see anything on the Service Pack 2 (except if it is the file named standalone download WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2 - ENU.exe).

In fact, after that SP has been installed, you need more file standalone download for Service Pack 3 or the document (WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3 - x 86 - ENU.exe).

I need to install Service Pack 2 and 3, in order to install a virus program.  I currently do not have one, as my Norton Antivirus program should be uninstalled.  I can't get the Windows Update page to download.  Is there another way to get to this download?  I want to get do it as fast as possible, as I am currently without any virus/spyware protection.

    Thank you!!

If SP2 to SP3, is not installed, you could not possibly have a functional application of the antivirus installed and missing a value of more than four years of critical security updates! It is not a chance in h * that SP2 & SP3 will install with your computer in its current state, Erica.

I have an Office I just bought 2nd hand for my son who is in grade school, but when I put the automatic updates to run that nothing comes however. Then I tried to install Norton Internet Security and I got an Error Message which said Norton was not able to complete the instalation like Service Pack 2 was not available, so I tried to locate a download of Service Packs 2 and 3 without success, can anyone help me please. As my son is a little off color on the PC does not.

    Say8tan.

I agree with PA bear "you can't trust the security of ANY computer used until you've formatted the hard drive & then made a clean installation of Windows.  "

But if you do not want or you cannot perform a clean install and are willing to take the risk of infecting other computers on the home network, read on:-

To determine which service pack is currently installed on your computer, follow these steps:

    1. Click Startand then click run.
    2. Copy and paste, or type the following command, and then click OK:

A dialog box displays the version of Windows and the service pack that is currently installed on your computer.

Jump SP1a and go directly to the SP2:

The link for SP1a is for quick installation, which requires an internet connection on the computer that you are using it (it looks like DirectX Web install). You can go directly to SP2 without first having the SP1 (or 1A). Copy the file to a CD or a flash drive, and then copy it from there to your target PC and run it.
