• This card will fit in my XPS 8700?

  Dell XPS 8700 has never been tested with the EVGA 4 GB GeForce GXT 770. However, few users have installed nVIdia GeForce GTX 770 2 GB successfully on their XPS 8700. The nVIdia GeForce GTX 770 2 GB size is 10.3 "x 4.3" x double Slot. So before you buy the card, I suggest you take the computer to a local store and check if the graphics card works on the system.

  Please note: the EVGA 4 GB GeForce GXT 770 requires minimum of POWER supply 600W with PCI-E power 2 connector x 8 pins.

  RAM sticks in my current system are all Micron Tech (here) 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM PC3 12800 240pin 1.5V 1600 MT/s.

  I had two RAM modules of tech Micron (here) 8 GB DDR3 SDRAM PC3 12800 240pin 1.5V 1600 MT/s so that I can move on to a total of 24 GB.

  After the discussion here and here, I installed the modules in slots 1 & 2 (both white) so that the system is not able to start. Not even got the bios screen. I also tried 3 & 4 configuration (both black) I ran my computer with the two 8 GB sticks only, with the same unfortunate results.

  I also saw that it is a normal problem of compatibility problems between the types of ram, but I consider that this is not the case. In addition, bad positioning of the modules is not also the case because if I put my old ram glue the computer starts normally.

  Hmm, I'd say you two bad sticks of RAM.  If the system POST even with them, I would swap them if you can.  We know that the RAM slots work because you have 4 x 4 sticks without any problem and your computer can take up to 32 GB of RAM.  Your admission that you bought the right kind of RAM, voltage, and speed, etc., so that shouldn't be a problem.  I would say as bad RAM.  When you do not install, just check that you make pairs in each of the colored slots, for example. matching pairs in the slot of white and black.

  Hello everyone, I hope you can help me.

  I have more Internet through my ethernet port unless I go into the BIOS and enable LAN Boot ROM If I do that I have a connection, but it appears as, "network 2".

  I tried to connect to wifi, but it continues to ask me a key... I've never had to do before, nor I know what it is. There was a couple of times I got to a wifi screen requesting a password. I would like to enter my password, but he told me that my password is incorrect. It is not the case.

  My router seems to work. I use my iPad on it now to this post. Both the iPad and tablet of my friend connect without any problems.

Quickly, I downloaded and installed the Realtek driver and was able to connect to the internet. I turned off the PC, reconnected the hard drive, bring the computer back in its normal and restarted start mode. That's when I noticed that I had no connection.

  I've been Googling this for a few days now. But it's fixed!

  I uninstalled the Realtek compatible wifi driver and downloaded a new one from Dell. Installed and I was good to go. Previously, I would like to uninstall this driver, and then restart the computer and it was brand new. I would like to update the driver, but when he was done, I still had the same issue; No ethernet connectivity. I still don't know why do things like I did worked, but he did.

  So, if anyone has this problem with the Dell XPS 8700, try the following steps:

  First download the Dell ethernet driver and transfer it to your PC.

  I found the answer and it is simple supper.

  When Windows 8, open msconfig.exe and the value of the checkbox Start secure on the Startup tab.

  Reboot your system and use the F2 key to access the bios. Go to advanced settings, on the aircraft and change the SATA AHCI mode to the RAID. When you choose Save, your system will restart and this time let it boot mode safe.

• Dell XPS 8700 - A11 Bios - boot

  I have a Dell XPS 8700. I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10. As recommended, I've also updated the bios to A11 (the latest version of the bios). I have a processor i7, 24 GB of RAM and an SSD as boot drive - so it should be a very fast machine.

  The startup time for just the bios (i.e. excluding the windows 10) is 14 seconds - crazy for a long time. It takes more time for the bios to start it makes for the time it takes for 10 Windows to start. Note that the bios startup time is confirmed by opening the Task Manager and looking at the Startup tab.

  My previous bios version was A03, who was still slow to start (8 seconds for the bios to start), but better than the A11. I see that some of the other bios versions after A03 were also slow to launch and I've deliberately downgraded these versions to A03 to improve startup performance.

  How can this bios startup time to accelerate because it does not seem normal to take so long?

  Note: I have external USB hard drives and I tried to disconnect these and it does impact not bios boot time.

  When you say the startup time of 6-7 seconds, you're talking at that time:

  1. Press the button market at the moment, the BIOS is ready to load Windows, but excluding the loading of Windows. or
  2. to completely load Windows, but excluding the BIOS load game; or

  I installed as follows.  Connected the USB cable from the monitor (S2340T) to PC (XPS 8700).  Connected PC HDMI cable for monitor.  Power cord plugged in.  The monitor is turned on.  PC turned on.   Windows 8 is displayed correctly on the screen.  But the mouse and keyboard slow.  Too easy touch.  Often, I have to repeat same thing several times.  plays background music - same short sounds.

  If I unplug the USB cable, keyboard & mouse then behaves normally, and the music stops playing.  It proves that if HDMI and USB is plugged at the same time, there is a mismatch.  But then touch screen does not like he needs the USB connection.  No software not loaded for the monitor.

• XPS 8700 - new mSata does not start unless...

  I had my 8700 for a little more than a year and from the beginning, I put a 256 gb 2.5 SSD and everything has been good... unfortunately I ran out of room so I'm a 512 GB mSata and installed with the normal hiccups (bios setting, etc.) and for the most part, it works fine... installed win7 - all my programs games, media and all that. Well, now that I have everything there I was trying to format the original 1 TB hdd which served the initial boot (later converted to my games drive) drive and it refuses to format 'windows cannot format the system disk partition' I went into the BIOS and noticed his 1st listed in the order of the boot sequence. OK... so I put the mSata as first on the boot sequence and people with other disabilities 2 boot sequence HARD drives... Unfortunately, after that it does not start, say no boot device available. I tried other settings and the only way I can get my OS to load is if I put it on AHCI - legacy - then set my empty 1 TB (manually remove games) under the 1st boot device and set my msata #2. I want to use the 1 TB in a different computer and I want all my available bays opened for larger storage players when I need... but most of all I want to solve it because he needs to solve...   The boot sequence is dynamic, so it does not matter if change you it in the bios. Each listed item will be sought for the boot files according to what is currently installed. Because your startup files are not on the ssd, it will never start to this player. Windows must be installed on the ssd from scratch, so you lose everything and have to reinstall everything.   Not sure if this is your problem but some previous versions of BIOS makes a quick beep at startup which was perfectly normal and indicated the JOB was complete. But it has been be mistaken one - beep error code meaning "card mother failure."  For later versions of the BIOS deleted the normal POST beep.

  As stated by Jennifer, you will need to restore the material to its factory condition to find out if your upgrades are originally the beep at the STATION. This is why it's always a good idea to test a new system first, before making any major hardware upgrade.

• XPS 8700 Black Screen at startup

  It started with some intermittent problems with USB 3.0 connections that would disconnect/re-connect randomly while you are trying to transfer large backups (front and rear taken showing the same questions).
  Called Dell and they have decided that it was a hardware problem which could be solved by replacing the motherboard. After two changes of motherboard (the first being DOA!) I am now left with a PC that has a delay of one minute (with a black screen), startup stops correctly, but also do not restart as it crashes during the stop in this case.
  Have you tried many tests to diagnose the problem, including the withdrawal of the graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750Ti) and reinstalling different drivers (WiFi, Bluetooth, NETWORK card) but no change to the start or restart customer.
  I also removed my 1 TB mSATA (on which I have 8.1 Windows installation) and the 2 TB HDD Dell and inserted a clean formatted HDD. I then plugged the Dell Windows 8.1 recovery USB drive and rebooted. Exactly the same behavior: white light, the light turns off, a black screen for about a minute, then white light comes back on and the computer starts normally - in this case, the recovery on the USB stick software.
  Dell have now agreed to replace the PC with a new one (as it is only a few months old), but I'd be interested if anyone has a vision of what could be the cause of these problems. My guess is that it's another faulty motherboard.

  You are not alone with this problem, and there seems to be a Windows problem based on what I read. Others have solved the problem on the XPS 8700 by installing a USB3 PCI-e card in the PCI-e x 1 slot...

  Your system is UEFI.

  As the UEFI systems start very quickly, you start typing (do not hold) F2 as soon as you power on open configuration. Otherwise, it will just start normally from the hard disk.

  Alternatively, you can start to type F12 as soon as you turn on that should give you a start with options menu to boot from the optical drive or USB. Note: To boot from USB FlashDrive bootable is connected before you turn on the system, otherwise it does not appear as an option in the menu of F12.

  mSATA reader uses the SSD technology to make the system faster. If you replace the mechanical hard drive normal with hard drive SSD technology TSRI functionality could be cancelled.

  However, to use the SSD on the system please change the SATA mode in BIOS to AHCI TSRI. You will need a reinstall the operating system to install on the system drive. The backup image will not work because the SATA operation mode is different with a previous hard disk.

  Quite normal. That LED means that the motherboard is powered "flea" power supply as long as the power supply is plugged into an outlet active.

  If you unplug the PC of the plug and press / hold down the power button for about 15 seconds, the LED on the motherboard turns off.

  Find something else to worry about.

  If F8 is not able to get the safe mode. Try this procedure below.

  1. Open the command run (Windows + R) and type "msconfig" in the run cmd.
  2. Click OK
  3. In the msconfig window-> click Diagnostic startup-> click OK.
  4. Reboot your system.
  5. It will go safe mode automatically in your system.
  6. If you want to return this process, follow the steps up to three-> click normal startup-> OK
