This block of power SUPPLY Corsair will work in desktop XPS 8700?

Hello friends,

I really really wanted to buy the 8700 XPS because the tower is much better and lighter then the Alienware Aurora. But I wanted to know if this PSU Corsair AX760w will be perfectly compatible with the Dell XPS 8700? I wanted to update the 8700 460w POWER supply because I want to update the graphics card for a black titan Nvidia requiring 600w.

THX

There isn't one, perhaps that's a Yes. It is perfectly well... a little on the tight side but he did it with a bit of room to spare. I know what I'm talking about. I installed the AX760 in February in my xps8700se and it has worked perfectly since.

Don't hesitate because this diet is one of the better ones.

Hello, I am wanting to update my graphics card as my current one is finally fall behind on current games, BF3 beta is a restless nighmare and BC2 must be smooth running low (ick). I was satisfied with the weaker graphics for now, but its time for an upgrade. In any case, I think I have my selected updates and I just want to confirm that they will work with my computer until I pull the trigger. My current equipment:

I removed the side panel to check the dimensions of the new card and it looks like it fits. The only thing that could be a problem of release the cables SATA for the hard drive and hard drive because they are both plugged into the two slots, I don't think that the two superiors would be no problem at all. Depending on the thickness of the new card is also, it may be very close to the sound card that is spaced only a slit above the graphics card. I have another location available PCIe x 1 go back one level more that I should be able to plug the sound card in if there is no problem.

My question is that these two will be compatible with my system? (physical limitations side)

Also, can I change which SATA plug the hard drive and disc plug in, without having to reformat? Is it just unplug and plug in the new housing? (setting power off + unplugged of course) Basically passing SATA0 and SATA1, SATA2, and SATA3. Or do need to be filled in order? (0 then 1 then 2, etc...)

Finally, If I can't move the sound of a standard card, do I need to do anything other than the physically move when the computer is turned off and unplugged?

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

    jkalbin,

You have thought through all scenerios. Move the sound card does not any problems. The hard drive should stay in header SATA 0.

  • power supply upgrade a Pavilion p6620f desktop computer

I need to improve my diet of the 250 watt accompanying to a 500 Watt power supply. What power supply should I buy. I see over a thousand on the internet but I have no idea whitch one to get?  Thank you

    Flyboy2514, welcome to the forum.

This is a power supply which should meet your needs.  It is 600W, but will cost less than the 500W after delivery.  Be sure to follow the instructions for the delivery of the letter.  This ensures that you don't lose.  I always suggest measuring the PSU existing and comparing measures to one you buy.

  • An ATX PSU will fit in a XPS 8700

My OEM power is strong and I want to buy a new power supply. A standard ATX PSU will fit in a XPS 8700? Here are the models that I see, but I'm also open to the suggestion. I'm more interested in noise reduction, I don't do any game so I have no power requirements other than to support the stock with a GTX645 Office.

More generic standard ATX power supply can be installed with a power of 20 + 4 pin main motherboard, or 24 pins as the 8700 XPS has a rear panel open, with or without the on/off switch.

Note: A power supply with 5 SATA connectors, is necessary.

It was reported that it is better to buy a PSU with a depth of approximately 5.9 ".

The SeaSonic S12G S12G-550 550W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified ActivePFC PSU looks like it should be good.

  • Block of power SUPPLY HP Slimline s3710t

I have a HP Pavilion Slimline s3710t, it runs Vista Home Premium (32 bit).  Power is out on this subject a few months when I moved.  It worked fine the day we moved in, just before I had to stop it and unplugging everything.  Come to our new home and went to hang on to the top and NOTHING.  Taken to be extracted and discovered that food was shot, the guy he has connected to a * test * PSU and it came right on.  He told me that I would need a new and that because my computer is a Slimline I must get a * special * power supply.  I took mine to my computer and did a search and it was not very useful because I can not find the SAME block power, but at the same time, all the power supply that are * recommended * because my computer don't LIST my computer as they work with.   I need a new PSU and I have NO idea what kind I need / can use.  I need one that will run my computer and my games pretty well, but I don't have the money to buy an EXPENSIVE one.

Had motherboard replaced but, before that, I had tried a secondary power to check if my principal could be faulty.  Card mother equipped now and all working fine except that I can't get the sytem to recognize my main diet.  Battery won't charge and the system stops if I remove the power supply.  This is on a DELL XPS M1530 laptop.

    Thanks for all the ideas.

    Hello

Motherboard might not be properly installed or has problems - easy to miss a rider or
    any other connection as well.

Old battery? Unplug the power to the computer - remove the battery and clean the contacts with a pencil
eraser (do not use this, if your battery is fine slots - just clean up the edges of the knife which fit in)
them and be careful). Batteries are old, or it could be a problem with the computer.
Check with the support of the machine system, and many of them have on line forums.

New Lithium-Ion type battery usually last longer if you do not unload then less than 30%
However on a laptop that not extend their life a lot. Best is to use the a/c adapter
    When this is possible.

I use the free version of BatteryBar to monitor my battery. Click on the green button on the
Yellow box on the right side of the page to download the latest stable version.

  • Power supply does not work

    Hello

I have a few problems with my Toshiba/plug of the adapter. A few weeks ago that my adapter just stopped working - don't know why, he suddenly didn't work.
My MOM also has a Toshiba Satellite laptop, and our sheets are the same, then we could use hers.

However the other day, its power cable also stopped working unexpectedly. Out of curiosity, my father has replaced the fuse on his own and it worked fine, until today when he stops just again! It flickered on a second and then stopped.

We are not sure if it's the fuse again, but if it is someone there ideas why he continues to be?
Could this be a fault with our electro folk guitars?
I'm pretty useless with these things, so don't really have a clue. This is the engine we time mad - she got a lot of work to do on his laptop and he needs to take to work etc.

Any help would be most appreciated!

    Hello

On this path, it is not easy to say what may be the problem. Maybe the electronic power pack get in trouble, but only a detailed study can give you accurate answers. On this path we can only speculate what may be the problem.

It will also be interesting to know what models of laptops you have.

  • Upgrade of the block of power SUPPLY Dell Inspiron 3847

wanted to upgrade my power supply 300 to something stronger, like the 450 Watt unit, that I have left over my old computer died. I tried to install it and all good, but the computer refused to power for more than a second, after reading up on top of some documents, I have seen many say the connector 24 pin is wired differently from the standard ATX PSUS. I need to get a power supply unit specific to Dell from a higher power to make this work?

    Hello

For this model Dell factory only a power supply 300 w, so even if you want to buy a Dell specific, there is no parts for this model that works.

I just bought a 2nd hand TOSHIBA SATELLITE 1130-z24 laptop.

He came without a power SUPPLY or charger power.

Apart from Toshiba own PSU, can I use a universal laptop charger which is compatible with other Toshiba laptops?

SATELLITE 1130-z24 will cap size similar to that used on other Toshiba laptops.

    Hello

As far as I know the universal AC adapter part number: PA3165E - 100-240V AC, 50-60 Hz, 75W with DC 19V output would be compatible.

Just Google for certain online offerings.

  • This card will fit in my XPS 8700?

I recently bought an XPS 8700 and thought to upgrade his graphics card. I'm looking at one is the EVGA 4 GB Geforce GTX 770 here:

    http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Superclocked-Dual-Link-Graphics-04G-P4-3774-KR/dp/B00E5AEIKE/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1382478542&sr=1-1&keywords=EVGA+GeForce+GTX+770+Superclocked+with+ACX+Cooler+4+GB+GDDR5+256-Bit+Dual-Link+DVI-I%2FDVI-D+HDMI+DP+SLI+Ready+Graphics+Card+04G-P4-3774-KR

The card is listed with the dimensions of 12.9 x 9.5 x 2.9 inches. After looking at the inside of the case I am afraid that this card does not. Can someone help me with the question of whether this card will fit in a case of XPS 8700?

Either by the way, I am aware of the problems of compatibility with the 8700 UEFI and have already bought a beefier power supply for a new card.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hello NinthLayer,

Dell XPS 8700 has never been tested with the EVGA 4 GB GeForce GXT 770. However, few users have installed nVIdia GeForce GTX 770 2 GB successfully on their XPS 8700. The nVIdia GeForce GTX 770 2 GB size is 10.3 "x 4.3" x double Slot. So before you buy the card, I suggest you take the computer to a local store and check if the graphics card works on the system.

Please note: the EVGA 4 GB GeForce GXT 770 requires minimum of POWER supply 600W with PCI-E power 2 connector x 8 pins.

    I hope this helps!
