  Laptop for my wife, it's a Portege M100 3 or 4 years, which is seems a good machine, although the hard drive failed and had to be replaced recently.
  However, there is also a problem with the battery charging.

  The machine works very well when connected to AC power whether the battery is or not, but as soon as you remove the power cable it stops working immediately, it is to say everything, including the fan stops immediately.

  The sign of the battery on the top edge of the screen/cover blinking orange.
  I figured it was the battery that had given up and bought an another toshiba (IE not a compatible but the real thing) and he slotted in but still.

  This problem above the hard drive has been changed also.

  Any thoughts or ideas?

  Are you sure that it is a LED battery?
  AFAIK the battery LED indicates the State of charge of the battery.
  Green: charging completely charged and orange way. But in both cases the LED does not flash/blink.
  Only the power adapter LED will Flash orange if feeding malfunctions and the voltage is abnormal.

  But if the battery LED flashes then I guess this code refers to the battery failure.
  You should always buy a battery recommended by Toshiba and not other 3rd party products.
  The manufacturer of the HARD drive is not important, but if the battery is dead so you can buy one that is part supported by Toshiba

  Our laptop stops completely at the bottom if it is disconnected.  It will work for awhile then all go off.  You can restart and it will say it didn't close properly and boot back, but then cut randomly somewhat later.  Already replaced the battery and it is still more than half charged when it arrives.  If the power cord is plugged in it stays on without problem. Help!

  Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums.  If you have already replaced the battery, and this problem is still there, then you have a problem with the fuel system on the motherboard that connects to the battery.  You will want to contact HP support by phone for repair options.

At this point, I doubt that it is a software solution, and I wonder if it's the battery or an internal connection that went wrong. I didn't let it fall or spill anything on the subject beforehand, and I can provide a record of all the stops if necessary. The only thing that changes is recently I replaced my old hard drive with a Samsung 850 (possibly EVO, not sure) about two months ago. Thanks for the help!

(Cutting) The mac does not start I have to unplug it and reconnect to restart. I tried different hubs of this manufacturer and all do the same thing. Remove the hub, the computer is fine. Any ideas?

  Well, try an another factory USB hub, I had good success with USB hubs powered from Belkin.

  Question... are the hubs help powered or are bus powered USB? They are bus powered USB is your problem, the USB ports on iMac didn't supply enough power to power bus-powered USB hubs.

  Have you checked if it stops when the charger is connected?

  This could be a hardware problem with the battery and we need to insulate it properly. In the meantime, please try a hard reset first. Steps to follow:

  • Turn off the computer and unplug the charger. Then remove the battery only if it is removable.
  • Press and hold the power button on the unit for 15 seconds to carry out the static electrical charges inside the machine.
  • Replace the battery and the charger plug it back.

  Here is a solution I tried after lookng through various forums and type of works for me. A common thing in most of the solutions is to take the battery and sim card out, leave like this for 1-2 hours and put them, I found back in and turn it on. I'm not sure of the logic behind it, but I remember reading that this overshadow the phone battery problems (connected incorrectly - essentially a reset) and begins to charge.

  I tried it 2 days back and I see that it worked for me, at least until now. I cross my fingers.

  I hope it's useful, works at least for few of you.

  OK, so it crashes.  You can view the details of the accident in the system event viewer or reliability reports (you need the name of the failing module).

  The most likely cause of a crash on launch in Photoshop would be a bug in an outdated video card driver.   But that would not explain problems in Illustrator or InDesign.
