Yoga2 11 -. Novo button power button / stop

I recently replaced the hard drive in my Yoga2 with an SSD - it is not even formatted. The plan is to boot from a USB key that I have prepared as a means of recovery of Windows 8 - but first of all, I have to enter the BIOS to enable legacy-start.

In the past, I've always been able to get into the BIOS by using the Novo button, but since I replaced the hard drive, the Novo button acts as a power button and gives me the message "no boot device found".

How in the BIOS?

Just press F2 (several times) at boot time.

  • 3 peripheral USB connected to the Macbook 4.1 computer tells me to restart using the power button / stop?

I went to record a live concert, and I need to use a single interface to record the members of the group with microphones near directly to a computer and another interface running for my model of Macbook 4.1 end of 2007, to get signals from the map of the House.

When I plug my converter USB 3.0 AD / DA in my Macbook 4,1 - the computer sends immediately a window indicating to me to "reboot" the computer using the power button / stop. Ideas or comments about why this happens?

I read on this forum that USB ports should work with retroactive effect, or accept USB 3.0 devices, but just use a speed 2.0?

    Thank you.

It could be that it is a requirement of your converter AD / DA she needs to be present at a properly accessible to the OS X when startup sequence it is plugged into a USB2 port.

Its also interesting to note that, well that peripheral USB3 can be plugged into the USB2 ports... it could be that your device may not work properly unless it is used with a port USB3... for reasons of bandwidth or even certain types of power supply.

    But to be sure...

Which converter AD / DA are you using?

  • Options for the power button Windows XP to ask what I want to do when the Start button / stop is pressed

Original title: Start button / stop - "ask me what to do" - where is it?

Under XP, when I pressed the power button I could put it "Ask Me what to do." This is very useful for two reasons:

-My PC is under my desk, and if I'm not careful, I can press the power button with my knee...

-To turn off, I can hit the power button / stop rather than start etc, then choosing.

The feature exists on Windows 7 (press alt + F4), then how do you link that to the press the power button? Why this was removed?

    Hello

Yes, there are only work-a-rounds and that is why I suggested that
thread. There are also a few details about why he was abducted that
are especially that in general as it caused more problems than it solved. Then
for those who have used the function correctly, it is a concern when trying
to restore its functionality. To my knowledge, is not 100%
this case, just ability cannot be added in by a registry setting
as support has been totally removed. If this is the case, then the work - a-

Please let us know if you find a better solution.

    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite S50T-A - button / stop does not

    Hello

I am running Windows 8.1. After that most recent Windows Update and then restarted, the computer froze to the Toshiba start screen. Fan went into overdrive and so I pushed the power button / stop.

Now, seems dead - button / stop, black screen, no its HARD drive is unresponsive. Only signs of life are power and battery LED on the front of the computer. Press and hold the power button for more than 10 seconds do nothing.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

Stop switch force (hole) is available at the bottom of the laptop.
In the case of PC freezes, do not start or a power failure, which can be fixed by pressing the power button for 10 seconds (force shutdown) and now, use the stop switch to force

I found this info in this document of FAQ from Toshiba
[The stop switch of strength (hole) for models with one main battery fixed | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB3C03JR0000R01.htm]

A short feedback would be greatly appreciated.

  • Satellite A660-1FM - function buttons stopped working

    Hello

The glowing function ceased buttons on my A660-1FM worked, except the volume control those. In addition, the button on the touchpad that turns off the power also stopped working.

I tried to reinstall the Value Pack, but this made no difference. The impact of this is that I can't turn on wireless more!
    Anyone got any ideas?

I want to restore to factory, I had to do this once already when this new laptop refused to stop. I don't want to spend all my time to reinstall applications from scratch every month :)

    See you soon

    Hi Khaled,

Did you also remove the old version of the package of added value before you install the latest version? It would therefore be important if you didn t do try again!

Since when have you noticed the problem?
You can try to restore the system to a previous point. If it s just a driver problem the system restore will help you.

By the way: also check the BIOS! There you can also toggle the buttons illuminated.

If you want to turn off your laptop with this button, you must configure Windows power management. You can define an action for the s computer power button if the laptop would shut down, sleep, Hibernate, or nothing. Don t forget this must be set for each plan of power if you change them.

  • Button / stop does not not how to start my mobile

    Hello

I have the Motorola Milestone A853. I use the GSM of Auntie DOCOMO network.

This is the second time I had a problem with the power/unlock button. (Last time I replaced him in the warranty is always there until December)

Last night my phone battery runs. In the morning I plugged it to load, but the power button is not operational. I can't start my mobile.

I lived the increased harshness of the button / stop for these days. But now I'm stuck.

Another way to start this mobile?

The closest repair center is 250 km. It will take a whole day to get there.

    Hi all

You can start the phone without power button / stop.

What suits you, just connect the phone to your computer. It begins, at least for me.

Remove the battery and insert again also also works some time.

I got the power button on my phone replaced under warranty!

  • Nitro V15 - button / stop does not stop is

    Hello

I bought a Nitro V15 Windows 10 and when I press the power button, nothing happens at all. I saw that there is a "Acer power button" app installed that allows to stop or power standby extended. My power settings are defined in a way that the power button should hibernate the computer is running on battery or so that the charge. If I hold it for 3 seconds, then it requires has cut (no not a good closing) then the button works - and of course when you start the laptop, it works fine.

How can I get the original from the rear switch functionality?

I don't understand why the power button functionality has been removed?  We recently bought one Acer laptop (not a Nitro), and who has the same problem. So I guess it's one thing to Acer.

Thanks for any advice in advance!

    Fiper / All,

I just got the message that is the (indicated in bold) below Acer support team:

"Thank you for contact Acer support.
In regards to your concern, the settings that are currently installed on the system is the best settings to use. Basically, Windows 10 you can click the start (Windows logo) and it has the ability to shut down or restart, etc. This will allow you to close all programs before you shut down the system and avoid system problems.
By pressing the power button for 1 second mark the system hibernate so you can still use it on a while later while all applications that you left behind are where you left them. However, if you like, you can go back to the power settings and adjust the settings (press the power button / stop) change to stop instead of Hibernate. "

I knew only by pressing the power button for 3 + seconds force a full stop and I was not aware that by pressing for 1 second not hibernation or anything that can be defined in the power settings. It works perfectly.

I recommended that they consider finding a way to clarify this point for Acer laptops users, like after a week of searching on Google, I can confirm that I was not not only know this one second by pressing option.

IronFly, thanks for trying to help!

    Kind regards

    Dundy

Perform a hard reset on the phone. To perform a hard reset, follow the steps below

    • Unplug the PC laptop AC adapter
    • Remove the battery from the laptop compartment
    • Disconnect external devices or devices connected to the laptop. Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds
  • At startup, updates to Vista is stuck on "Full download 100% - do not turn off your computer". Cannot stop at least stop with button / stop.

At startup, Vista update will start and get blocked msg on "Full download 100% - do not turn off your computer".  Last night on the left that it runs and it took 12.5 hours before finally coming out of the error status and asking for the password.  Could not stop downloading progress with Task Manager/ctrl-alt-del, etc., unless you use the power button / stop.   This severely limits the duration of use and if/when we are able to use it in an hour or two, it black screens and reboots restart fiasco together again.

    Hello Steve Gardener.

Thanks for your post.  Try to start your computer in Safe Mode.  This allows the update to install without problem?  If so, start your computer in normal mode and a test for features.  Please let us know the results.

  • HP Officejet 1510: HP Officejet 1510 stops Middle Print with button / stop blinking always

I just bought this printer and I don't know what is happening. The first time I printed something (8 pages) days ago and it printed perfectly without any problems. This time, when I tried to print 6 pages (this printer connects via the USB port on my computer) it has started printing, but after it printed 1/4 first page, he stopped and just sat there. The light was still flashing. Finally he spits out paper with just 1/4 of printed page and didn't even start the following study through the diet. When I watched the queue of the printer on my computer, it seemed that demand was still online, marked as impression. I tried to print one page at a time and it actually worked for a few pages! It their print perfectly with zero problems. Then when I tried to print page 4 by itself, it got stuck once more, after 1/4 of the page prints.

I did a test print (hold down the power button / stop and the Cancel button) and it printed fine. Does anyone have an idea why I have a problem and how to prevent it?

    Thank you!

Welcome to the HP community @md1137!

I understand that you are facing a printing problem with your Windows XP system that prints to your Deskjet 1510. I hope I can help! For me, the issue you describe sounds like a driver problem.

I would say first of all that is running the print and scan doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for all conflicts that may be causing the problem. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there is a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results.

If the problem continues, go to the Control Panel uninstalling the printer software , restart the PC, then download and reinstall the driver to feature full here: e-all-in-one HP Deskjet 1510 Printer series full feature software and drivers

Try to print again, and the problem should be solved, fingers crossed!

  • Venue Pro 8 - button / stop does not turn off the screen

I just got a coming 8 Pro (32g).  The user manual says that I should be able to press the power button and turn off the screen.  However, when I press the power button, nothing happens.  I can for 4 seconds and the PC will ask to stop, but pressing on this button does not put the tablet in standby or turn off the screen at all.  I have to go to settings-> Power-> sleep just to turn off the screen.

Yes, I checked the setting of the button / stop under control panel, and it is set to "Sleep" for all cases, battery and plugged in.

Is there another setting somewhere to turn on the power button to turn off the screen?
