At the start, after registration on my user, it takes more than 30 minutes to show the desktop.

A dreaded Uni blue screen is shown for ever. Why? What can I do to speed up the start to the top and which is the real question?

Windows XP Pro version 2002 service pack 3

Dell Vostro 1510
223 gb hard drive
169 GB of free space
Latest version of the software installed: SONY PlayMemories home
installed 26/12/2012

While you're waiting and watching the blue screen, try hitting Ctrl-Alt-Delete on the keyboard.  If a window opens, select "task manager".  At startup, the Task Manager, select 'File-> new task' and then type in 'Explorer' and click on 'OK '.  Sometimes, this will make things again.

  • Put into service takes more than 15 minutes. Stop is worse. It hangs at "closing Windows" regardless of the programs that I run is extremely slowly.

Original title: start & close problem. Slow response

My PC is running Window XP SP2. I did all the updates.

Recently commissioning takes more than 15 minutes. Stop is worse. It hangs at the "closing Windows.
Whatever programs that I run is extremely slow.
I ran virus scan, microsoft fixed, but the problem persists.

Well, I think you don't like it, but the first thing to do is to eliminate by using their special tools Norton Uninstall program:

    https://www-secure.Symantec.com/Norton-support/JSP/help-solutions.jsp?LG=English&CT=United+States&docid=20080710133834EN&product=home&version=1&PVID=f-home

Now, you might think I be without protection and get some bad things on my computer, but you just want to see how things are going without it.  Just don't visit WWW stupid or silly sites, where you can pick up some virus or malware and you can always install a new copy, but I think it's a big headache for you now.

It might be out of date, too many options of protection installed, etc.  More protection is not always better, and you will pay for it in the performance of the system with the more stuff you add.

Then when Norton is gone, proceed as follows:

No matter what you use for malware protection, follow these steps:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs at:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
Restart your computer and solve the outstanding issues.

Consider instead of Microsoft Security Essentials or Norton - he did a good job.

We must eliminate what can cause problems, so I'd start with Norton.  You can put it back later if you want, but you need to see how things are going without it.  Moving things to a good operating system that you are happy with first.

Eliminate potential problems one at a time and test thing out... one thing at a time.

Symantec/Norton is you biggest problem right now.

    Check your NVIDIA drivers:

I use the NVIDIA site and let scan them online take a look at your video system and see what he suggests for drivers and consider their analysis if they offer a new driver.

It is recommended to run the scan NVIDIA with Internet Explorer.

Here is the address of the NVIDIA page:
    http://www.nvidia.com/download/Prescan.aspx?lang=en-us

Read the instructions, and then click the DRIVERS GRAPHICS button to start scan and answered in the affirmative, if asked to install the plugin required to run the NVIDIA scan.

    Get rid of Norton.

Still confused that how its related to the hot flushes of shared pool... May be due to bad hit ratio.

Flushing the shared pool causes the instructions shared/updates cached so far in the shared pool to get hard analysis/optimized again. Explanation so the most obvious would be that for some reason, the implementation plan have been changed to the statement you're talking about, although the plan should be quite deterministic, because you're on 8i (no bind variable peeking questions) and using the optimizer basic RULE.

  • Activation of Thunderbird requires more than TWO minutes after clicking on icon Thunderbird.

PROBLEM: The Thunderbird program is slow to activate. When you click the Thunderbird icon, I expect Thunderbird Inbox screen to appear in a few seconds. However, after clicking on the Thunderbird icon, more than TWO minutes elapse before the Thunderbird screen appears. This problem existed for about a week. My OS is Ms 8.1. You can provide any help would be appreciated. Also, when this problem started, I received the following message "warning: this file is being processed.» Please wait until processing is complete, to pass messages. »

Your anti virus (or attempt to Microsofts Defender grant) needs to be said is not to analyze the profile of Thunderbird folders, each time you open the program is my guess. The program cannot open files that are locked for scanning. As some of the files may be in the order of 4Gbv in size, it can take an AV program up to 10 minutes.

  • Satellite P300 freezing after more than 20 minutes

    Hello

    I hope someone can help.
My satellite P300 laptop freezes when left for more than 20 minutes.
This has been a problem since the purchase of the laptop 8 months ago.

    I have windows vista installed.

When this happens I've pressed the button until the computer restarts, it gives me the option to start in safe mode.
This can't be good for the laptop?
Is there a way to solve this problem, as I turn the laptop off when ever I leave.

    See you soon

    Hello

It's not easy to say what is the reason for this as it can be different things

Maybe your laptop is overheating. You can hear the fan or get very hot? Maybe you should try to clean using compressed air stream. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans.

You said that you have installed Windows Vista on your laptop. Do you mean the factory settings or you have installed your own version of Windows?

It could also be the RAM problem. You can check this with Memtest86. It is a diagnostic program for the RAM. You can download it from [www.memtest86.com]. It s freeware and easy to use (just to burn a bootable CD with the image and the start of it).

Good luck and post your results after that.

    We need more information!

Borrowing another post by ElderL (the same "JoseIbarra' that Elizabeth23 already mentioned):
Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

What is your Internet browser and version?

Do you have the Windows Desktop Search installed issue?

Your system's disks IDE or SATA drives?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

What do you see (exactly) that you don't think you should see, and when you see it?

What do not you think that you should see?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

    ___________________________________________________________
Once you answer these questions to the best of your ability, a lot of people here (don't forget that almost all of us are volunteers who are also using Windows XP) will probably be able to help quickly resolve your problem.
That (ElderL also) might help, too (because its results will contain many answers to the above questions):
Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click OK, and when the system info summary appears, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.

For video device and driver information, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.
