You don't have permission to open this PDF file

Hello

I have a new system with Windows 7 Pro.

I can't open any PDF file if they are in the MY Documents folder.  If I use Adobe Reader or Nitro gives me basically the same thing. A setting error warning that I'm not allowed to access this file.

The strange thing is that if the same file is in a different folder (for example public documents) they open smoothly.

It is only when the file is located in My Documents they open and only pdf type.

Any idea how to fix this problem apart from the obvious workaround solution working with other folders?

Hi Eric,.

Were there any changes made on the computer before the show?

Method 1:

I suggest you to follow these steps to restore the default libraries and see if it helps:

a. press the Windows key + E to open Windows Explorer.

b. right click on libraries in the left pane.

c. click restore default libraries.

d. check if the problem persists.

Method 2:

I suggest you to refer to the articles and check if the permissions are set correctly when files are in the documents folder:

  • You don't have permission to open this file - but... I am Admin and permanent air well

    Hello
I have a folder on my desktop, and inside this folder, I have two additional folders and two files JPG (cover). In the main folder, I got 3gbish with a value of MP3s and small amounts of MP3s inside two subfolders. I was able to remove all the files in the main folder of fine, but cannot remove the two subfolders, two album art jpgs and the folder main itself. I can't delete, rename or change permissions.

If I look at the permissions for one of these objects, I complete privs read/write etc. I'm the only computer account and I am administrator. I have no problem with my computer other than these files. I want that they went!

This sounds like a registry problem? I tried to use utilities like LockHunter to help, but I get the same message "you do not have permission" as when I try manually. Don't know what else to do.

Initially, lockhunter specifies the objects were locked by a process. It is windows media player. This folder was monitored by Windows media player for songs. I removed from the windows media Player library settings, however, I am still unable to remove the file manually or via lockhunter. LockHunter now no locking process but when I try to delete, it says "you are not allowed. Please contact the administrator '.

It is a calculation home running Windows 7 x 64.
Drive is local and not network.
No changes were made to the system I know.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Kind regards

  • Error message when you try to attach the document to an e-mail message: you don't have permission to open this file. Contact the owner of the file... for permission

I can't attach documents to hotmail or my e-mail from work using Firefox. I have not tried another such search engine as suggested in other posts with similar but different questions. Yesterday a pop-up asked me permission for Firefox to access my documents and clicked on 'no '. I had never seen this pop-up request before if I didn't take the risk that it be a virus. A month ago I was able to attach documents to my email.

Using Windows Explorer, I moved my documents from the folder 'libraries' to 'myfolder' under computer. Not sure if they had moved or if it was just a temporary solution of fluke, but I could send my documents successfully. There was malware that has been found through one of the links provided by an answering machine, but even if the malware has been removed, the issue has not been resolved.

  • Error: "you don't have permission to access this folder. ' Click on continue having access to this folder continuously ".

Original title: cannot access files on a folder on the drive hard usb after you have turned off sharing on a network.

About a week and a half, I have set up my external hard drive usb to share on my network domestic as well as my brother could access some files on his laptop computer.  I've been playing with the security of some of the files on the hard drive and made sure that he could not access some of them.  I don't remember exactly what I did unfortunately.  After I had changed the security access, I was still able to access all files and my brother could not access it.  He got the files on the hard drive and I turned off my computer.  A few days later, I tried to access the files that I had limited and I was stuck.  When I went back in the drive to recover some files, I received an error "you don't have permission to access this folder.  Click on continue to have access to this folder permanently. "When I click on continue that another dialogue box comes up saying"you refused permission to access this folder.  To access this file you will need to use the Security tab. "I click on the link to Security tab and another dialog box appears asking"to continue, you must be an administrative user with permission to view this object's security properties.  Do you want to continue? "I'm obviously the administrator because I have this computer and I'm the only account on it.  From this point, I don't know what I do or what I'm supposed to do to recover my files.  I played a bit with a couple of things and I was able to get into certain folders, but its an extremely long process that I don't have the time for.  A side effect of which in fact so I can see the files, is that for any movie file, I try to access it, I get an error.  When I try to open it with Windows Media Player, I get the error "Windows Media Player cannot access the file.  The file may be in use (which is not the case), you won't have access to the computer where the file is stored (which is not supposed to because the computer on which it is stored my personal computer), or your proxy settings are may not be not correct (what?). "If I try to use another program like VLC media player, I get a similar problem where an error comes up saying that it was impossible to access the file.  I can see the file and see the properties but I am unable to actually see the film.  I can't move the file anywhere because I don't have administrative rights.  I'm under Windows 7 Ultimate, and if someone could help me please, that would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Ridley,

I see that this problem is old enough but you (or others) may have problems with it. Here's what I did:
-Got to your hard drive and right click on the folder that is causing all the trouble.
    -Click on properties.
    -Click on the Security tab
    -Then click on advanced
-You will see a window with a few user names. Now click on owner in the tabs above.
-Click on edit, then select the user name you want to open the folder and don't forget to tick the box that says "Replace the owner of subcontainers and objects", then click on apply.
A pop will come which says something like "You have replaced the property for the selected records" or something in this way. It worked for me and I hope this post is helpful for some people.

  • You don't have permission to access this folder. Can't access iTunes.

Original title: user account access changed without being changed.

    Hello

I have a new computer with Windows 7 Professional. Today, I tried to run iTunes. He said I may not access the folder or it has been locked. Of course my user folder has a big lock next to him. I am the administrator. I have not changed the permissions. Currently, it seems that I have somehow connected with a different account. My library on my C drive folders are empty. This would explain why iTunes does not load. As I said I have not changed any settings. It happened as if by magic...

How my user folder has being blocked or how my user account has changed its permissions, as an administrator, I should have access to my user folder, or I am now another user? Who is now the administrator? -What happened? A lot of questions. I am happy to be able to see the library files on the C drive, I used to be able to the week last in any profile.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

    After reading this post

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en/w7programs/thread/d616e06f-ecdd-4D34-8d7a-a9936a91ad6e

I went my users folder and tried to set the permissions again.

I have 4 users or group names

    System

    [username] ([username] - PC\ [username])

    Individuals ([username] - PC\HomeUsers)

    Administrators ([username] - PC\Administrators)

When I wnet in the advanced on ther Security tab my 'home ([username] - PC\HomeUsers) users' group had special permits. I selected it and then click on change permissions. Another very similar screen came. I have selected the Group of users of home again and press Edit I selected a full control. All the checkboxes selected themselves. I hit OK, and then click apply. A box appeared that set permissions. I have several errors telling me that permission could not be set. I kept acknowleding and continues. Once the lock on my users folder disappeared. But iTunes still does not work.

If the lock on my users folder has dissappeared. iTunes still won't work and I think I just make my Connection public network vulnerable to attacks. Great :)

In any case, I really need to download iTunes running.

I open my account users (without lock) and try to access my music folder it tells me

You do not have currenmtly has the permission to access this folder

Click on continue to have access to this folder permainently

I click on continue. A padlock appears next to my music folder, but I have access and Itunes now runs.

All good and well, but I noe feel as if I had a bride mish bad permissions which will expose undoutedly me to safety and is still not right.

How do I check the permissions?

I believe that the passage of the group to public networks may have been when the problem started. I'm guessing that I'm not alone with this problem.

My video files and images all wanted to set their access permannet permissions and now have a lock next to them

I'm willing to do all this right. Seems not just for now, but then again I can't access my data and run my programs again. How can I check to see if I'm now vulnerable to attacks on public networks?

  • "You don't have permission to view this object" when you try to watch the vRO in web client workflows

I just installed vRO 6.0.4 in my environment (vSphere 6, 6.1, 6.1 VR - plugins for both installed SRM). I plugged on SSO (using my account [email protected]) successfully, said the the vRO client vCenter and I can see all the workflows in vRO when I go through the web client of vSphere. However, when I click on any workflow, I get a blank gray window with the error in the title of this message.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, GS long time not to mention.

Couple of quick question, when you logged in service webclient which account were you using and is this account a member of the Group Admin vCO you have configured with SSO?

You have configured permissions inside vRO?  When you are in the high-level view tab workflow that you will need to assign at least display and inspect the permissions for all the people who will access the vRO via the web-client workflows.  This authorization at the top of the tree gives users the rights to connect to the vRO to vSphere, then you can set the execute permissions on the workflow in the context menu.

    See if that helps you

Recently, I cloned git a customer Web site and I need to work on that, but when I try to open it via mamp or ampps a message appears:

Forbidden you don't have permission to access the 'websitename"/application/index.html on this server.

I did extensive research and everyone says to change the permissions on httpd.conf , but nothing happened. I tried to reinstall and nothing more. If I navigate through the terminal in the folder of the Web site, I have all the permissions.

    Does anyone have a solution?

It is difficult to understand your configuration, but you try to run the web site locally? If so, the url is localhost/websitename/application/index.html or whatever the path to the root of your document...
