You format it to reinstall Windows Vista?
Hello! I discovered that my Vista laptop must have resettled windows as there was some curruption of some of the features - DVD player and USB connections.
Help! Thank you Cathie
How Vista is installed depends on what recovery process you are using.
The manufacturer's recovery process has everything built into it.
If you use a Vista DVD, you can format during the installation process.
Read the info below:
How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
They will tell you how to do this.
Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Recovery of Outlook Contacts after you have reinstalled Windows Vista
I had to reinstall Windows Vista for a variety of reasons. I use Windows Backup and Restore Center to back up all personal files, send an email and contacts to an external hard drive. For some reason, I can't find or recover the e-mail contacts that I had saved before reinstalling. Y at - there a trick to this? They were also not in the Windows.old file that I could tell. Help, please. Thank you.

Well I thought about it. I had to physically locate the .pst file in about 2 weeks on the external hard drive. I copied and pasted in my user profile. Then he imported in Outlook. All emails and contacts restored. I knew there was a way to do it.

I can't reinstall windows Vista Home Basic Edition to my Compaq presario laptop
Hello
I want to format my 'C' drive and reinstall windows Vista Home Basic Edition for my 'compaq presario laptop.
When I lived with my recovery disk, it has been fine until "loading windows files" and taking me to the recovery / restore point but not with the format options (GUI).Hello
With this HP Compaq recovery process, it's a different process than the installation with the Microsoft DVD
There is a section slightly more than 1/2 at the bottom of this link from HP showing you how to reinstall Vista using their recovery disks.
If you have any questions or problems with it, contact HP as it's the HP recovery process.

Re: How to reinstall windows vista on my Satellite L300
I need to reinstall windows vista on my Satellite L300 because of a problem, I had with it (the computer does not start and the recovery option does not work). It has not come with a windows CD so how can I reinstall it?
Do I have to get a CD by myself and if so - what version of windows vista is compatible with my laptop?
(I can not contact the provider because I is not guaranteed).> It came not with a windows CD so how can I reinstall it?
You had an option pre-installed on your laptop that you helped to create the recovery disk. Seems you didn't create this disk in the pastWell, in this case, you can order the CD here:

Reinstalling Windows Vista on satellite A210
Equium A210 my son entered a "+ State +"-viruses, Trojans, Malware, etc.
He tried to clean it up using various tools including Spybot S & D, AdAware, Malwarebytes, SUPERAntiSpyware, AVG & Avira AntiVir and now asked me how to reinstall Windows Vista initial.
The laptop came with Windows installation disc, but there is a 1.46 GB partition called "EISA Configuration" - it's my solution and if so, how to use it?
Any help much appreciated.
This partition is only a function of Vista and has nothing to do with the recovery image to be used for any new OS install.
Can you please publish the exact laptop model name and model number? -
Reinstall Windows Vista Edition Home Premium
I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 with Windows Vista Home Premium. This laptop has his OS damaged somehow, of great utility and inefficient clean ups. After that failure with another attmpted fixed, I plan to reinstall Windows. I have the original restore disks (recovery CD HP QuickPlay application (c) 2005 and the small Manual HP QuickPlay April 2005. In this manual, it is said: If you plan to reinstall your operating system, first read... Relocation of QuickPlay... [and]... Installation of QuickPlay will stop if you try and install io QuickPlay on a laptop not supported.
That means not supported (1) with expired warranty? This means... (2) a different from this particular dv6000 laptop? (3)... something else?
If not taken into (1) average load with an expired warranty, and what options are there to reinstall Windows Vista Home Premium on this computer?
Neither QuickPlay application restore CD or Application and Driver Recovery DVD are the disks necessary to reinstall Vista. Do you have another drive?
Alternatively, you can try to tap the F11 key immediately after switching on the laptop to try to boot in Recovery to make a factory reset.
See the section "start a restore from the hard drive & the computer is off:
