zero release of fieldpoint read vi

I'm new to this forum and to Labview so patient with me.  I am running Labview 2010 on a Windows 7. I am connected directly to a PCP 1808 (ethernet crossover cable with IP static) and trying to read the data of a module I-100. I see my system in the area of data and a remote system in MAX I have set up two entries channel 0, Max and channel 1 for voltage, ranges 0-18 years and 0 to 36. I can test the data in MAX and get the appropriate data.

In Labview, I drag a channel MAX for the block diagram and the Terminal value of an indicator of the gauge wire. The gauge is in a time loop. The VI runs without error, but the value is 00 + 0E. I suspect that I miss a simple adjustment or not in my code or the configuration of MAX but may not know what it is. If it is not obvious what I'm doing wrong in my description, I'll post the VI at a later date. Unfortunately I'm away from the system as I write this. Thanks for the help.

Guessed it. I had the wrong configuration file in the project. I went to the project tree and import the .iak file that I had recorded in MAX, then dragged and passed the Fieldpoint to the project on the block schema tree. Finally success! There are probably better ways to do it, I'll learn, it's a start. Thanks for your reply. I have the latest drivers Fieldpoint loaded. I'm sure I'll be back with more questions when things get more complex.

  • Express FieldPoint

    I use fieldpoint hardware so I installed the FieldPoint 6.1 driver and its present in max.

    I've got orders of IO fieldpoint (screw) available in the palette of measures I/O, but IO express fieldpoint orders are not available here or in the express palette.

    Do I need to install something other than 6.1 drive to get the express screw fieldpoint?

    Thank you

    Hi ggress1,

    The Express VI of FieldPoint was removed from the palette of functions in new versions of LabVIEW due to problems of instability that has this feature. It is recommended to use standard writing FieldPoint and FieldPoint read live from the FieldPoint palette in applications. To start using FieldPoint and FieldPoint screw read Scripture, I advise to use the shipping examples that come with LabVIEW. "' You can access them by navigating to help" find examples "material input and output" FieldPoint.

    If you prefer to use the FieldPoint Express VI, it is found by navigating to C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 20xx\vi.lib\FieldPoint\express on your machine. Follow the steps described in this knowledge base article to add this Express VI to your palette of functions.

  • FIFO DMA read high CPU usage

    Hi al, it's a long!

    I noticed a strange behaviour when I read from a FIFO DMA between FPGA and RT host on my crio (9014 controller and 9104 bottom of basket). The FPGA is writing data to the FIFO 2 points every millisecond and the loop of the RT is the reading of 500 data points each loop of the MS 250 CR period is controlled using the hold until the next ms multiple function.

    Wait until the next use means ms that during the first round, the wait will be not so I gave the FIFO DMA read method a timeout of 750ms to allow data points to accumulate on this first iteration.

    I then ran the VI and it read the data as planned and it was always 0 in the FIFO. Then using the system monitor, I noticed the CPU usage on the RIO and was surprised to see that it was 30% !

    After a lot of puzzle and many other attempts as to set the timeout to zero if delays fair read until here, I've decided are enough data points and then executes a little behind so that there is always a constant number (non-zero) of data points in the FIFO. Now, the VI runs and only use about 3% CPU.

    I thought that in the first case as I read exactly the number of points in the FIFO that I was tripping some kind of voting behavior in the playback feature which has been hogging the cpu.

    So I ran a business with a zero time-out, where I was reading with 0 points of data to the left in the FIFO as in the first case and waited to see if the delay of read but it never does and the CPU usage is normal.

    So what's happening? I'm puzzled!

    Thank you

    Steve.

    Hi Steve,.

    I think I can explain the use processor behavior that you are experiencing:

    Case 1: Loop with nonzero time-out

    -Your code starts with wait a multiple ms: This means that a 0-250 ms timeout occurs (on average 125 ms)

    -Then your code tries to read 500 data points in the DMA FIFO (if 500 points come in every 250 ms). All data cannot be presented yet.

    -If 500 points are not yet ready, polling occurs until they are. During the time of the poll, the CPU usage is high. Finally, the data is read.

    -The next iteration of the loop begins.

    -The code is now expected up to 250 ms after the last function call until the next ms Multiple. Roughly the same amount of data should be available by the end of this expectation as in the last iteration. Therefore, the question about the next FIFO DMA read should be roughly the same, and the CPU usage will remain high.

    Case 2: Loop with zero time-out

    -In your code, immediately after the first call to wait until the next multiple ms, you "synchronize" by reading all the remaining data from the FIFO.

    -In the next iteration of the loop, we can expect the call until the next ms Multiple wait the entire 250 m means that the data DMA FIFO (discount jitter) should be ready. If jitter is low enough, this will result in delays very little of the read DMA FIFO and a low CPU usage.

    I would recommend either using a timed loop and read the exact number of data points available (if your application can handle variable size data sets), or using a while loop as you are and make sure that the loop priorities are defined such that the CPU usage high does not affect critical functionality.

    Thank you for the very good question; I personally really like thinking through these issues! Please let me know if you have any questions that deserve further discussion and have a nice day!

  • HOWTO upgrade a read to a RMW lock lock

    Hi all

    If a database entry has been read in a transaction using get (key, transaction, LockMode.DEFAULT entry), how to improve the associated a RMW lock later in the same transaction read lock?

    As I've mentioned before, I am writing a Java open source library that uses the api Java for db. I hope that the C++ and Java solutions to this problem are simple.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello Roberto,

    Restrictions against the use of LockMode.RMW in the first get() method calls? If Yes, then you should look in directly asking / release the blocking locks subsystems, i.e. using the Environment.createLockerID, Environment.getLock, Environment.freeLockerID, Environment.putLock and Environment.lockVector methods:
    [http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/java/com/sleepycat/db/Environment.html]
    [http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/ref/lock/intro.html]
    [http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/ref/lock/am_conv.html]

    An example of use of the locking subsystem directly is also under the ' BDB_HOME/examples_java/src/db' directory in LockExample.java. Below is an example on how you can use the methods to achieve your goal:

    try {}
    env is an instance of the environment
    Locker is an int.
    Assign an ID unique locker (in the environment)
    Locker = env.createLockerID ();

    The DBT object, we are trying to block
    Entry DatabaseEntry = new DatabaseEntry (entryBytes);

    Get the READ of the lock table lock
    Lock readLock = env.getLock (true entrance, locker, LockRequestMode.READ);

    Other operations go here (read the entry)

    The lock request to release the READ lock acquired earlier
    LockRequest readLockRequestRelease = new LockRequest (LockOperation.PUT, LockRequestMode.READ, entry, readLock);

    The lock request to acquire the lock for WRITING on the DBT object
    Lock writeLock = null;
    LockRequest writeLockRequestAcquire = new LockRequest (LockOperation.GET, LockRequestMode.WRITE, entry, writeLock);

    Build the list of lock requests which will be used to atomically exchanges to a write lock
    LockRequest [] lockRequestList = {readLockRequestRelease, writeLockRequestAcquire};

    Atomically release the lock read write lock changing
    env.lockVector (locker, true, lockRequestList);

    Other operations go here (the entry was modified)

    Release the write lock
    env.putLock (writeLock);

    Free unique record ID
    env.freeLockerID (locker);

    } catch (DatabaseException e) {}

  • Display for Officejet 6500 dissolved

    Display of our HP Officejet 6500 all-in-one was slowly dissolved over the past month. We bought a year and a half so he's out of warentee. When we fax, we cannot read the number as we walked. All the necessary information on the display screen are not available to us. Is there something that can be done to solve this problem? Or is it just a lost cause of built in obsolescence?

    Thanks for reading,

    Naomi

    Step 1: Use the flat screwdriver to remove the cover plate.

    Step 2: Remove two black torx screws on the left and right side plate under shelter.  I have had no bit torx with my clients, so I used a small flat head precision screwdriver.  To the screw on the left, you will need lifting the lid on the additional paper tray.

    Step 3: Using the flat screwdriver you used to detach the faceplate, press the tabs to remove the control panel.  There are 3 (or 4? can't remember now) tabs to unlock.

    Step 5: Remove the control panel of the plateau in which it sits.

    Step 6: Remove the control panel cover.  Simply pull directly outward.  There is no locking tabs.  Be gentle, but not a chicken.  It will survive.

    Step 7: Remove the 6 (a little smaller than blacks) silver torx screws at the rear of the Panel.  Again, I used a precision over small flat screwdriver and it worked very well.  Once these 6 screws are out, the PCB (with fixed LCD) will come immediately.   No prying eyes, simply lift the opposite side of starting from the tabs and pull out.

    Step 8: Prepare and know your Board of Directors.  Place the port of PCB LCD screen up (for lack of a better description) keep the flat cable on the back.  Don't forget, it hangs at the edge of what surface you put on that, we put a LOT of force on this piece.

    Please forgive the degree of dirt... not my house... Home customers.

    Step 9: Release the LCD display of the status bar it is in.  Holds it with very low adhesive tape.  Very thin pieces on the left and right.  I do not recommend using the screwdriver with it.  Just use your fingers and little patience and let the LCD come with light force.  It took 30 seconds to get out me of this bin.  Long time when there is a screwdriver sitting right next to you that you could catch and push underneath.

    Step 10: On the head screwdriver flat number four... Take the tip of the screwdriver and press the cable sheet that is attached to the LCD screen directly on the edge of the circuit board.  Moving to the low one or two millimeters and press again.  Another mm or two and press again.  Go allllllll the bottom of the Strip and press.  I repeat: PRESS! DO NOT DRAG.  If you drag, you will tear the ribbon cable.  Also, do not reach the edge of the cardboard nearby because you could slip and go straight through the ribbon cable (as I did when I was getting impatient 1/4 the way through).  EXTREME PATIENCE is necessary for this process, otherwise it will be a huge waste of your time.

    Not a redundant pic.  Show the difference in the movement of the driver to a different place, but on the same pins.

    NOTE: Got to half way through and I wanted to see the difference.  Before you begin, my client had 6... Yes only SIX vertical sets of pixels on the LCD display (on 80 total vertical sets for display, 16 sets of 5).  I reconnected the Ribbon on the PCB cable and plugged the power to the printer.  WAHOO! I can see something actually readable!  So I disconnected the power, removed the ribbon cable and continued on the rest of the pins.

    After pushing down the rest of the pins, I'm done with something that was MUCH more readable than what I started with.  There is ZERO that can be read on the front screen.  No, I'm getting somewhere.

    Could be even better but...

    Step 11: A pencil any with an hard reset on it.  If it is too soft, it is enough.  As you did with the screwdriver, press the pins with the eraser firmly.  I was pressing hard enough to compress the low gum a little.  Figured, ' what I have to lose. " "If I destroy it, I say just the customer there is nothing I could do": Pei

    Again, use patience and work down a few pins at the same time, so that each of them ends by pressing twice.

    NOTE: After that, I hooked the rear plate until the printer just to see the difference:

    YES!  QUITE usable now!  Not perfect!  But still a lot better than having to chuck the printer or not read the screen AT ALL!

    Step 12: Return all together.  Look at the first steps, if you have forgotten how.  The screen was even better once I got it all back together.

    I hope this helps! Absolutely had no idea it would work, reason for which I don't have pictures of what it looked like before... But trust me... it was literally only 6 visible vertical sets of pixels on the screen.  Read absolutely nothing.  My client is completely satisfied with using it like that because she could actually do what was on the screen.

    The reason why I even looked into it was because she told me that it was getting worse... ALL HP recommendations of their (this) site says to unplug the power, press # 6, blah blah blah.  That's BS.  If there is a progressive problem like that, it's 100% always going to be a physical problem.  NOT a chip problem (which is what they tried to involve having the power to bike system.)  In fact, their resolutions meant: ' we do not have a clue as to why this happens.»

    I know exactly why it's happening.  Go to pretend to change the ink cartridge.  Lift the top cover (not the scanner bed cover, the whole top cover).  OK, now close.  You get to an inch before it closes completely and BOOM!  Something loose in the prop-up mechanism and he slams down.  Well well with this past several times with paper jams if deleted and any other, the LCD Ribbon membrane that is literally a piece of tape cable slowly starts to come loose over time.  That's why you ALL experience get worse and worse.

    Again, this is not a full proof solution, but it avoids the need to throw a system perfectly 'printing and scanning.

    I hope this helps and good luck!

    Thank you

    Paul

  • iTunes does not appear the option to check the iOS Software Update

    I have a 6 more than 64 GB iPhone with iOS installed 9.3.5, laptop HP Windows 7 (SP1). The latest iOS updates bit (of IOS 8 or 9, I did "over the air" rather than connecting to iTunes on my laptop.)

    This time, with 10 being released iOS and reading online on a certain number of iPhones in 'brick' update 'over the air', I decided to update by connecting via a USB/lightning cable to my laptop and iTunes.

    When you open iTunes on the laptop by clicking on the device (iPhone) and the 'summary', she properly showed the current software on my phone (iOS 9.3.5), but no option for "check for updates". He also says "Connect this iPhone with a USB cable in order to update or restore it is a software", which seems strange, because it is connected via USB and is recognizing the version of iPhone software up-to-date and correct. After not being able to understand why, I have found also that iTunes 'control upgrade' says that v12.1.1 has been current. After some research online, I came across a Web site that shows iTunes was up v12.4.3 at the time of writing. Therefore, I went on Apple's site to update iTunes, as I couldn't do to in iTunes itself. I found that the latest version is 12.5.1.21 I downloaded and installed (without uninstalling the previous version first). Still the same problem. Then, I uninstalled this version latest and updated to iTunes on my laptop and reinstalled. Still the same problem.

    I was able to 'Sync' and the phone to iTunes with no problem at backup.

    Can anyone help please?

    I considered just take a chance and update the iphone software app 'Settings' of the phone with the ability to do a "restore" via iTunes on the laptop if I ran into problems. Then, however, I found that the button "backup restore" in iTunes was "greyed out" and not "clickable".

    Hi colboy58,

    Thank you for using communities Support from Apple!

    If I understand your message that iTunes appears that a software update is available for your iPhone 6 Plus. Since iTunes showed previously that it was also updated, there is probably a problem with the security on your PC iTunes software to communicate with our servers.  Please follow the troubleshooting steps in the link below to get started:

  • I have 2 plugins that will not be updated. Why is this?

    Ever since a few updates ago, 2 of my plugins, which are very popular, will not be updated. I get an error of initialization of the Application for the two. They are Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Reader. Thank you!

    Hi UnusuallyClueless, I know that the "Initialization of the Application" error is an error in the Adobe installer, which occurs AFTER you download successfully Setup and Firefox has saved.

    A possible cause of this problem is that the fast-download installer must connect to Adobe to other files, and some security software can block this. To work around this, try to use "complete" installers (also called "offline installers"):

    Flash

    Go on https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html and in the first table, choose the EXE or MSI, you do not need both, for «browser plugin»

    Adobe Reader

    • If you already have 11 Reader or CD Player installed, use the Help menu of the program of verification of updates - it is more reliable than the site Web of the Plugin Check
    • If you need a new installer: https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ - after the installation, you should always use help > check updates, because Adobe isn't always bundle the latest patch in this download

    Edit: to verify if your Adobe Reader software is the most recent available in his series, you will find the history of update of your version on this page: https://helpx.Adobe.com/Acrobat/release-note/release-notes-Acrobat-Reader.html

    I have recorded similar problems on different series notebook running Vista. It s no matter what series it is.
    I'm sure that it s a Vista problem and should be solved with the new SP1 version.
    But note; the SP1 is not published official and I would recommend waiting until a final version has been released.
    I read that the beta SP1 makes certain disorders and is not fully compatible with some drivers.
