  • You have problems with programs

DXHL,
This game has already worked on this PC?  Do you have an antivirus running?
Try to clean boot your system and see if that helps.  You can also try running in compatibility mode.

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers site!

Right-click on the zt.exe file and choose "Run as Administrator" to launch the program.

See if you are able to play the game.

If this does not work, turn your computer to clean the start State and see if the fgame plays very well.

To put your computer in a clean boot, follow these steps:

Note: If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.

    1. sign the computer by using an account with administrator rights.

    2. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    3. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)

    4. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.
Note: Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

    5. click OK and then click on restart.

For more information about the clean boot, see the link below:

  • Zoo Tycoon 2 does not start on Windows 7

I have a Vizio with Windows 7 and when I try and play zoo tycoon 2 (which has all the expansion packs), it does not load. Black flashes on the screen, but it never loads. It worked yesterday but when I tried to play today, it will not work

    Hi Darla Knox,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

To provide a proper resolution, I would need more information on your side.

    1. don't you make changes to the computer before this problem?

    Follow these methods.

    Method 1.

Try to use the last good known Configuration and check if that helps.

Using the last good known Configuration: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/using-last-known-good-configuration

    Method 2.

You can use the restore points for Windows 7 to return to a previous state, when your computer was working properly.

    System Restore: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/system-restore

Important: System Restore will return all system files not as documents, email, music, etc., to a previous state. These files of types are completely affected by the restoration of the system. If it was your intention with this tool to recover a deleted file to non-system, try using a file instead of system restore recovery program.

  • Zoo Tycoon 2 won't uninstall/install?

    I have Windows 7.

Bought ZT2 Zookeepers Collection earlier. I installed it is fine, with a couple of expansion packs. I uninstalled, then went to re - install. When I clicked on install and it behaves like his will install but said "games to uninstall all saved and elements?" that appears when uninstall you! So I check mark those. Tried to install it again, but guard telling me that it is not uninstalled. Tried many things to make it work, but it won't. A I more resemble something? Otherwise, I'll have to eat the money I paid for this stupid game. AND I can't go and buy a new one because for some reason any my computer/game says it is uninstalled, but it really isn't.
    Help!
    Thanks :)

I was able to overcome this problem by following these steps for Windows 7. First, go to the control panel and uninstall all programs associated with Zoo Tycoon 2. Then, type "regedit" in the search box after clicking on the button 'start '. You can search "zoo" and delete the entries that correspond to the "CLEAR" Zoo Tycoon 2, nothing else. Then go to the computer, then the drive Local (c), then Program Files (x 86), then the information of InstallShield. A list of folders will fill. Look at the dates and try to determine where you originally installed Zoo Tycoon 2 and delete these folders. So try and re - install Zoo Tycoon 2 and it should install correctly. Apparently, the developer, Blue Fang Games, neglected aspects of the use of InstallShield and program still considers that it is installed by looking at the InstallShield folder that was created when you initially installed the game! By deleting this file, it will install then.
  • Zoo Tycoon 2 - cannot run

My daughter has Zoo Tycoon 2 Ultimate Collection. It runs on a 32-bit computer Win 7 with 3 GB of RAM. It worked very well for a long time. After a few months of not playing, she inserted the CD and launched the program. The screen 'Run', 'Install', 'website' appeared. She clicks on 'run '. After a few moments, a dialog box appears that says: "Please insert the Zoo Tycoon Disc 1 and click OK to run the Game" or something similar. Of course, the disk is already in the drive. Re-insert the disc or by clicking OK without reinserting the disc means nothing.

I can browse the files on the CD. The player seems to work fine - it plays DVD.

  • 2 Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Collection will not work?

    Hello

I had first of all of Zoo Tycoon 2 and I installed and it has played without problems. Then I bought Zoo Tycoon 2: Ultimate Collection and installed (with no problems) and I played for a while now, probably almost a year. He used to run without any problems at all, but a few days ago, I put Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Collection disc 1 to and clicked on play. I've been waiting for centuries, and nothing came so I clicked it again and he said "another instance of startup.exe is already running" I tried to restart my computer, but it came again. I searched on the internet it and it said to press ctrl + alt + delete and delete something, so I did that and tried to run again. This time came a different message: "Please insert the right CD-ROM, select OK and restart the application.". but the 1 disc is already in the drive. I tried this on the internet, and he says that the solution is to insert the correct disc, but I did it? There was also a solution to make a right-click on the icon, click Properties and change the compatibility mode to windows vista, or something, but this isn't an option on mine. I checked the compatibility on my computer and it says that the two Zoo Tycoon 2 + Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Collection is not compatible, but it was compatible before and I never had this problem. If there is a solution that works, I would be really grateful

    Howdy!

It worked fine when I had Windows XP as well so I'm a loser. Can someone help me please? Thanks in advance.

  • Zoo Tycoon 2 Ultimate Collection will not work

I just bought the ultimate Collection of Zoo Tycoon 2 and installed on my Windows 7 computer. I tried to set the compatibility mode to run on Windows XP Service Pack 2 and also tried to run as an administrator. I even uninstalled and reinstalled and still does not work. Initially my desktop theme has changed to the generic (which most games do when they start to load) and then all of a sudden he would return to normal and nothing happened. But after the change in compatibility mode, it now gives me an error saying to insert disk 1... Of course, disc 1 is inserted exactly as it appears in the computer in the list of drive for drive E, my cd-rom drive. Of course, it was a waste of $40. I would like a refund please.

For anyone interested, I got it works by setting the compatibility mode to Windows Vista.

Right-click on the game .exe file, go to properties. On the Compatibility tab, check run this program in compatibility mode for:, and select Windows Vista from the selection menu.

    5. Click to uncheck the box automatically manage the size of pagefile for all readers .

    7. click on System managed sizeand then click set.

    8. click OK twice.

    9. in the System Properties dialog box, click OK.

    10. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart now.
