In addition, I use the Recovery Manager to create DVDs from backup files on that PC.  This problem started in December, and according to my daughter-in-law (the only user of that PC), it gave him no problems until this.

  • Dead Rising 2 "can't download the update" error code: 0X800700B7

I jumped on Dead Rising 2 ready to play the game again, until I get a request for an update. I enthusiastically click Yes, and the update fails to download. I can no longer play the game.

I tried to reinstall Games For Windows Live, rebooted the computer, nothing happens. I refuse to uninstall Dead Rising 2, because I don't want to wait five and a half hours just to make it work is not everywhere yet.

Ive looked at the frequently asked questions on how to solve this problem and it seems that only solution did nothing to help. Any ideas?

    Error code: 0X800700B7

I finally found how to solve this problem. It seems GFWL downloads actually update the file, but it does not install because he thinks that he didn't install it. To combat this manually I went in my folder XLIV and found the cab for Dead Rising 2 file and run the installer. It now works fine and I can play the game to my heart's content.

    Hello

You can perform the check disk on the external hard drive and check if contributing to the backup.

Check a drive for errors: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/check-a-drive-for-errors

Important: while performing the check disk on the hard disk, if bad sectors can be found, then check disk will try to repair this sector. All the data available in this area may be lost.

  • Problem: My computer hangs and does not restart after the installation of MS Update KB2479628.

Tuesday February 11 I turned my hp Compaq nx7300 off I saw that she was installing updates I thought that nothing of what I had set to automatic updates. On Wedndesday that I have tried to re - turn on my laptop it installed updates. I got a black screen with white writing. The laptop then ran restoration of boot, but he was not able to repair itself and turns off. I tried to turn it back on a few times that I was in total disbelief that a MS Update would do this to my computer, it still does not.

I tried to start the computer in safe mode, but it does not work.

I tried to do a system restore but evertime I tried it there was an error, I tried all eight restore points but all back "an unspecified error occurred during system 0x800700b7 restore.

"In restoration of start I clicked on ' view diagnostic and repair details" it said all tests have been performed with success, but at the bottom it says ' root cause found - boot critical file D:\Windows\system32\ntkrnlpa.exe is corrupt.

I had to reinstall windows 7 pro three times so far and have now developed to the point that it is KB2479628 update of MS that is causing the problem. I the have not installed this time and have had updates to the manual

What can I do about this problem, I spent at least 20 hours on this problem now, and looking for the many other forum of people seem to have similar problems. I'm worried that KB2479628 will settle by accident when I want to install some other updates?

My computer laptop originally had Vista Business top but has been upgraded to Windows 7 32 bit, clean install, I use Microsoft Security Essentials, I've never had installed norton or macafee.

Thank you very much for all your time and your help is greatly appreciated, I'm sure I'll be at the time when SP1 is available.

    Until then your your :-)

  • Black screen with blinking cursor! tried everything!

OK, so this is going to sound familiar.

I was on my computer when (it seems that windows update force rebooted my system) my computer rebooted in the middle of doing me stuff, got the windows stop screen.  When it restarts I got was a black screen with a blinking cursor.  The only options on the splash screen that works are the program installation, diagnosis and menu start. For some reason, hit F11 to restore the system does nothing and it will pass just to the black screen. Another strange note is that simply type the power button it will stop, I don't need to keep it.

    (1) I went into the bios and restored the default values.

    (2) I called they sent me a microsoft repair disc.

    (3) I tried the Startup Repair, which would have finished enough instantly and tell me that no problem has been detected and if I recently fixed a device, remove and restart. Everything is attached are the mouse/keyboard factory.
    (4) I've tried many system restore points and they all failed. nothing has worked and all generated the error: (0x800700b7)
    (5) I made this

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

When the pc still doesn't load, I put the repair back disc in and got an error message windows boot files where invalid and had the ability to repair and restart or cancel.  After trying blaze these and try several BCD I built always get the same flashing cursor.

    (6) I reloaded windows on a separate hard drive and scanned all viruses, checked the drive to see if there was even loaded windows (out of curiosity because nothing works)

    (7) so everything is saved, but I have 5 years of programming, I don't want to lose or reload due to the download time.

Is there anything I can try that will work?

    Windows 7 64 bit

HP Pavilion AMD phenom processor 4 cores.

motherboard, power supply, gpu, amd chip, all works with a different hard drive, but I really really really don't want a fresh reload

    Please haaalllppp

  • Update of software and applications

I'm having a problem that continues to get my software apps and windows updates. I bought 2, PC laptop Compaq CQ58-bf9WM yesterday and began the process of update of preinstalled applications and keep for the lack of updates to the window 12 and they all. For the most part when it fails it gives me the error 0x800700b7 code no matter how many times I try again, it remains to fail. For Windows updates, I started just to be stuck in a update screen where it goes to 12% that remains for about maybe 10-15 minutes that restarts and recurrence. At the time where the update was "placed" an hour had already passed, checked to see if everything was good and updated, but the said installation failed. I don't know what the problem is with my laptop, the other is updated without any problems. I have a factory warranty, but do not want to use at the only up to what all else fails. Its 8 Windows running. Help, please.

If only one service is selected in the list of services , and you the problem persists, the service selected the cause of the problem. Go to step 6. If no service is causing this problem, go to step 4.

Step 4: Enable half of the startup items

If no startup item causes this problem, a Microsoft service most likely the cause of the problem. To determine which Microsoft service may be causing the problem, repeat step 1 and step 2 without selecting the hide all Microsoft services check box in each step.
