I received the error "Access denied to the server" _ "to verify the user name or password". It was on a computer running XP on a VISTA-based computer. It happened on both computers, suggesting something to do with microsoft. I've allowed cookies for Hotmail and MSN in the Tools menu of the Explorer of solutions, no luck. I'm cross- and is mad that outlook has worked on two different computers and then didn't. Microsoft says it's something to do with my software or my online provider. If I pay however I will get help. I'm getting closer to ditch Microsoft and jumping on Mac. I talked with Microsoft and they say that the oulook on MAC software is simillar. Also Mac can support their software better. If I put, t deal with this I'm going to do some shopping.

KB977713 causes Outlook 2003 send undeliverable messages "Phishing fraud" - cannot SEND an E-MAIL
Since Monday, three PC in our office I have this problem!
All are running Windows XP pro and Outlook 2003 to send email through our web domain company POP3 account, hosted by Hostway.
All have the update of KB977713 which was installed on February 9, 2010.
All the real-time virus protection turned on and were analyzed for viruses and spyware with a negative result.Since the application of this "update", we can not send an email in Outlook, but can send an email from our account POP3 web portal.
When an e-mail is sent to an address, a 'Returned follow-up' snapshot message in the Inbox of the 'system administrator' indicating:
Your message did not reach some or all recipients
Object:
Sent: 11/02/2010-11:24
The following recipient could not be reached:'_' on 11/02/2010 11:24
550 5.7.1 possible fraud by Phishing
I removed the address where the White is higher for this post but there is someone on our field.
I tried to uninstall this "update", but it does not solve the problem.
Does anyone have a possible solution?Hostway contact: their mail server to reject the messages.

Transfer emails from outlook 2003 on xp to windows live on Windows 7
Anyone know how to transfer old emails and contacts in outlook 2003 on xp computer to a new computer using windows live mail on windows 7. Unit XP will not let me copy the PST to outlook, continued to give me 'path not found' or something like that. Nothing on the new computer (windows 7) seems to be able to read pst file.
I don't think that Windows Live Mail would be able to import data from the OL If OL has not been installed on Win7 computer.
That said, Windows Update has nothing to do with the upgrade of Windows. You will find public support for Windows Live Mail in this discussion group: microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

Tried several times. Windows Update keeps prompting me to install but it fails every time.
I was finally able to solve the problem of not being able to update KB975051 and KB976882 by taking the following measures:
In Google I typed in 'the kb976882 will not be installed. Under options, I got "Download Details: update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Junk...» "the site of Microsoft.com/downloads. I downloaded from this site and then also picked KB975051 on other popular choice located lower on the page and done the same thing. I don't remember this solution being a few days ago.
I hope you find that this approach works for you as well. Ignore the entrance of miss under my name as proposed in another comment response. I have missunderstood as a way to comment on...

I had problems trying to install the update of security for MS Office Outlook 2003 (973705 KB) and update for MS Office Outlook 2003 Junk e-mail filter (974771 KB). I get the error code 646.
First of all. What is this code? I looked around and could not know what it means. In the second place. I neither use or as Outlook and would like to know short of reinstalling Office, how can I disable / remove Outlook or disable updates for it?
Hello rwhard, welcome.
My suggestion would be to insert your disk in Microsoft Office, and then try to perform an automatic repair. Try this:
1. click on START
2. click on "Control Panel."
3. double-click on "programs & features".
4. click on "Microsoft Office...". "and select Edit
5. Select "repair".... "in the context menu and go through the wizard
6. after the repair, restart your computer and try to update againIf this does not work, I would say that simply hide you the update if you are not using Outlook.
1. click on START
2 type "Windows Update" (without the quotes) and press enter
3. search for updates, and then click to view will want as an option so that you can manually select the updates to be applied
4 right-click the two updates, then select "hide."
5. There is no button apply, so it just close the window, and then restart your computerLet us know if it works,
Thank you! Ryan Thieman

Running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. I have Office 2003 Professional. Today, 7 June 09, apparently there was a lot of updates not only for XP but office as well. the .NET and silverlight was just a couple of them. in any case, after that, I rebooted as instructed, but now I get an error when I try to respond to someone who sent me an email. He said: "the message interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists try restarting Outlook. »
I restarted Outlook 2003 several times and I get the same error. I have not changed my email address or whatever it is (I think) who could not operate properly as he had done for the last year.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Cary

In Outlook 2003, I keep getting a popup asking the user ID and password. This continues after I provide the information requested. How can I stop this?
When it happens, it is usually a small problem with my ISP (AT & T).
When AT & T fixes their mail server, I left get these annoying popups.
I suggest that you contact your ISP.
