  For people who read this thread, I offer the following information.  I solved the problem by noticing that the problem could have been caused, when the system image is created.  So I did a backup without creating the system image and backup is complete without error.

  Then I used the backup program to create a system image.  This time error (0x8007045D) was displayed.   The error report says "the operation failed for a device error encountered with the source or the destination. If the volume of the source or the destination is on a disk, run CHKDSK /R on the source volume or destination and then try again using. »

  So I ran chkdsk/r, and this program is a bad sector on the hard drive of my computer and fixed the error.  It took about an hour to run the program.  Now, the image of the system and the backup of data file work again.

  So I think that the main cause of error (0x8078012D) is deborahgarbe of i/o error (0x8007045D).  So if you get the first error code you can search for fixes for the second error code fix the root cause.

I have triple checked the settings for backup and they are as I want them to be. -What is the Toshiba external hard drive or my bad nine HP desktop computer?  I had to call HP tech support yesterday as 2 programs, I had already installed has stopped working, but also Java and Adobe Flash Player.   The error would have occurred if the services related to backup Windows could have been disabled. This can also occur due to other security software installed on the computer.

  Follow the steps to check if services are running. If not, restart them and check if that helps:

  (d) right click on the Service.

  (e) click Properties.

  (f) select Start on ManualType.

  (g) click OK.

  (h) now repeat the same steps for Windows backup service as well.

  Check if you find the same error trying to save using the hard disk. If Yes, proceed to method 2.

• Windows 7 backup system Image - 0x8078012D error Code - fails to complete system image backup?

  I seem to have a problem with the Windows backup when a scheduled backup image on a hard drive external fails to finish, although she worked successfully before many times.  Backup Windows reports an error code of 0x8078012D.

  I ran the tool of error checking on the external hard drive with running repair options, but no problem discovered.  The external disk drive seems ok because I use a Norton program to back up data on the same drive with no problems.  Also Windows backup will happily make a 'non-system image' backup on the external drive.

  But it is not an image of the system stand alone, or as an add on the a normal backup.

  After many tests on the solutions listed here, I found a way to fix my problem. I had continually failure is to say the system could not create a snapshot or that my drive has been a failure. It seems, with Windows 7, you must configure options that are not obvious to the users.

  1. go to control panel/system/System Protection and select your C: drive.

  2. Select "set up" and make sure "Restore system settings and previous versions of files" is on.

  3. the Max use value at least 2%

  4. apply

  5. Select your key USB you will use for backup and configure it again to the protection and the whole file size of at least 18%.

  6. apply

  7. in the control panel go to administrative tools, open Services.

  8 scroll down until Windows backup and make sure it is set to manual and not started.

  9. highlight Volume Shadow and make sure it is also set to manual and not started.

  10 10 aller go to control panel, select backup and restore.

  11. click on "Change settings", and then select the drive you will support up to.

  12 run backup let the system do its thing and everything should work.

  I suggest to rerun the command chkdsk (check disk) and let us know if there are bad sectors found/fixed.

Does anyone know what are these error codes? My best guess is probably the RAM, I have (2) modules of 8 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3 OR wireless networking equipment installed. I've noticed recently while multitasking, the wifi connection seems to cling and web pages will not load/downloads will pick up. But the way in which applications will be blocked for 60 seconds makes me think of a bad situation of RAM I have had in the past.   Have used the SD Transcend 360 256 MB card for data storage with success during the last 6 months on my MBP to mid-2014.  Installed their wake from sleep early support software.

  Above error code invite you in this context: I wake up Mac in the morning after sleep.  Transcend icon "wake up" and appear on the desktop (as it should).  I check disk utility and the card is recognized.  HOWEVER, about 1/3 of those mornings, despite appearing and functional map icon (folder open when I click on it), when I try to write/copy a file or folder to it, I get the above error code?  For about a week I missed that everything seemed normal.  My current 'fix' is to eject the card (requires a 'forced ejection"which I'm concerned could damage the card?), but the card ejects without delay.  90% of the time when I remove and reinsert the card, the operating system recognizes, all right.  (There are a dozen times when I had to reboot for it to be recognized.)

  All the others did this experiment with the Transcend (I submitted a request for tech support to them with a persistent response of 'Question Mac'... (LOL).  This error has been noted several times on the Forum discussion, but in the context of external drives and with no apparent solution.  FYI, I use the Transcend (in addition to external systems) b/c it works essentially like a hard drive internal and I use it mainly for Google Drive perfectly... except for the above inconveniences.  Thanks in advance!

  FINALLY, what worked was rename the cert8.db file in the profile folder so FF could generate a new. Then FF grabbed the cert very well.
