0x8ddd0002

When I go to the Windows update site, I get the error code following 0x8ddd0002. That I'm not the administrator. This has also happened with a few programs I want to uninstall as well.

In the article on support.microsoft.com/kb 316524 all patches for XP and 2000 are not Vista I clicked on the link in the article, he explains information may be relevant because it is for a different version of Windows. Then what should I do?

I have SP 1 and 2 is installed.

You ever run the McAfee Consumer products removal tool? NO

(And Norton) McAfee applications are known to not uninstall (or upgraded) themselves.

1. download the McAfee Consumer Product Removal, save it to your desktop tool: http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

3. right click on the file that you saved in #1 above and select run as administrator to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

4. run this difficulty in default and aggressive modes: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

5. for good measure, also reset IE advanced settings: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737

  • 0x8DDD0002 error

I just clean installed Windows 7 on XP, and am trying to update my reinstalled Office 2003, but MS update just gives me:

    [Error number: 0x8DDD0002]
To install the updates from this site, you must be logged in as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group on your computer. If you use Windows XP, you can see if you are an administrator by clicking on user accounts in Control Panel.

However, I am an administrator, and the trobleshooter can't find anything wrong with my connection.  I tried rinsing of the temporary files of IE from IE like 'Administrator' and change the registry.  Nothing works.

Windows 7 updates work very well...

    Any ideas?

    However, I am administrator...

    Let us make sure that:

    1. Click Startand then click run.

    2. In the Open box, type timedate.cpl and press ENTER. The Date and time dialog box opens.
    3. In the Date and time tab, click the change date and time. If the user account control dialog box opens, click continue.
    4. Two things will happen. Choose either A or B to continue.

A: If you are prompted to type an administrator password, and you see administrator account names listed, you are connected with a standard account. If a is true, you are not the administrator of the computer...

B: If you are not prompted to type an administrator password, that you do not see administrator account names listed, you are connected with a computer administrator account. Click Cancel, and then click Cancel to close the Date and time dialog box.

More questions: how long was the computer connected to the internet or any networks before N360 was installed and fully implemented to date? You has nothing else a key USB brand new or freshly formatted (flash drive) inserted before N360 was installed and fully implemented to date?

  • Update Windows (0x8ddd0002 error)

original title: 0x8ddd0002 error with Windows XP Media Center - checked other issues, with no solutions found!

Well, I got the error code 0x8DDD0002 with Windows Update. I am running Windows XP Media Center Edition. I am the admin, it is a single-user computer. There McAffee Virus Scan Enterprise and Zonealarm firewall.

I have already crossed and tried the 6 methods on the Windows Support and they did not work for me! (So don't bother not even display them) Short of reformatting and reinstalling Windows, are there any patches for this. This computer had a virus some time ago, the famous XP Security Center virus, of course it was so that it could not update more.

    Hi BenGross,

I agree with doing a clean install, because you were not able to cross the installer during the repair. You can find useful the option under Windows XP .

    Hi buzybeegirl,.

    Thank you for your message.

I got the error on my first visit, to see that I was not using Internet Explorer.

You can check by clicking on the Start button and type "internet explore" on writing that appears in the form of "Internet Explorer".

If this does not work, try right click on the entry that appears, and then click Run as administrator.

Even if your account is the Admin account, you will likely worsen your credentials in this way to run a program as an administrator.

I was also able to recreate the issue on my first visit to the site by using Internet Explorer Onecare.live.com.

I looked at the address of the error page (in the address bar) and she had identified my OS XP, something like "osunsupported = XP.

    So, I use Windows 7...

I tried a few times over, and it worked.

I can't recreate the failure of identification of operating system now that he's worked.

I'll see if I can find more information about this, and if I do, I will post it here.

In the meantime, see if the suggestions made above will work.

Please let us know how it works.

Most of the time, it restarts itself during the update process.

Change it to no automatic installation, which is what I was hoping you would do to dismiss this case.
