1 2 codec C40 camera

Hello

One of our clients have existing C40 telepresence video system and they want to add another codec C40 and connect it to the camera of the current system of C40. One camera, shared in two units of codec C40. Same room/location where to install the additional codec.

The goal, why the customer want this configuration because the existing system of the C40 was used by one of their partners and dedicated for that specific partner. They want to invest another C40 codec for their own video-conference sessions and for budgetary reason, that they just want to buy a codec and the use of the device the other C40 system's existing.

Even audio and video resources will be used. Audio and video distribution amplifiers are not a problem on this configuration.

My concern is that is - it possible to use a separator of type RJ45 for control of the camera's two codecs C40. The codecs will not be powered on at the same time.

And what could happen and if two codecs are accidentally turned on simultaneously. ?? Can it damage the camera?

This is something not an ideal package to the top and I do not thing anyone he tried again. and he's going to run on no it is not planned.

Now you are going to use spillter on RJ45 and HDMI port,

Remember, you make a divider appropriate according to the pinout of the control cable. If the cable is long enough according to the prescribed length you will need to turn on the external camera. and you question if the two codec lights suddenly the camera answer is NO (to me), that power is not very high.

You can then go ahead and try first by a Dispatcher and test it before purchasing.

It can work if the wiring is done correctly.

    You are actually right on your assumptions and descriptions, you just pretty much what each of these options do listed.

    Dual display-

    C40 has the ability to display the same video on both outputs by default, if you do not get this option.  This option is to display two separate video sources on two screens, such as: Farsite on output 1 and content/selfview on output 2.

    High resolution-

    You might be buying cameras 1080 p but resolution premium will allow you to pass resolutions higher during a call.  You can still view the full HD video when not in a call although if you choose not to get this option.

  • Cisco Codec C40

    I've recently updated the software on a device of cisco codec c40.

    The software has also updated the firmware on camera1.

    Unfortunately it didn't update the firmware on camera2.

    The cameras are connected in Garland.

    Is there a simple way to update the firmware on camera2? (Such as running certain commands on c40 codec?)

    You can simply copy the output of the xConfiguration and paste it into the SSH client.  You may need to change the output a bit to get the correct formatting, however.  For example, the output registered since my SHH client contains a preceding * c which must be removed before that I can stick again in the SSH client:

    When you perform a software update, codec configuration, including the keys installed option is not affected and will remain in the process. Keys options include Premium (PR), double (DD) display resolution and Multisite (MS). C40 has been end of sales since June 2015, so it is not possible to order anything for this, see eos-eol-notice-c51-733467. Procedure to upgrade the software codec is on pg 28, the same page mentioned in my previous answer. To upgrade codec software, you will need a release key when switching from one major version to another, as TC5 to TC7. You can request a release of the Cisco Licensing Portal key > obtain other Licenses > telepresence free software key, as long as the device has an active support contract. If you do not have an active support contract, you can contact TAC and get the free unlock key by referencing the Security Advisory cisco-sa-20160504-tpxml, which you can get a key to unlocking TC7.
  • duplicate calls made using the alias between two codecs C40

    We have 2 new codecs C40.  When calling between the two using the alias, it seems that 2 calls are made.  In a sense, we get a very quick disonnect message upon acceptance of the call.  In the other direction, the call comes in, but on disconnect, we get a message saying missed call.

    Seems that the search rules can be duplication of the call some how - probably him endpoint becomes a call SIP and H.323 call at the same time. Could you post the call details and history/details of research?

  • matching codec c40 with ISDN link problem

    Would really appreciate if someone can help me with my problem.

    I have 2 sites. Each site has a c40 codec which is connected to a cisco ISDN link box. Each box contains 3 BRI connections. The system is essentially set up at the video-conference from one site to the other. C40 codecs have been paired with boxes of ISDN link manually due to the old firmware. Now that the firmware has been upgraded on all devices, I am trying to pair the codec with the ISDN link using the 'auto' mode so I can configure the ISDN codec c40 GUI link.

    The problem I have is that when I pair it in auto mode, the ISDN link is seen by the codec and matched succesffuly but I get an "error" and the reason for the error is "no sip registered to peripheral H320" or something of the sort. The rest of the configuration is the same, all im doing is pairing in auto mode. At this point, I can't do a video call-out. Can I make changes to the GUI hoewever c40 ISDN link and it shows as paired.

    When I change the sip profile out to 'off' in the sip codec c40 profile settings, now, there is no error. The sip profile in the ISDN link area is also set to off.

    Can someone help me what are the correct settings for outgoing SIP and the above error message please. It will be greatly appreciated.

    Outgoing SIP should be turned off if you use the ISDN codec liaison, so please meke it took off.

    for the composition, should not use composition commnad complex that you scoop with TC 5.x and IT 1.0,

    With TC 6.x just enter number and select protocol H320.

  • How can I enter a range of IP access codec C40 using RemoteAccess allow?

    I'm setting up a codec C40 running Software 6.1.

    I want to limit systems that can access the codec through SSH/HTTP etc. and found authorize RemoteAccess under Configuration > System Configuration > network

    I want to enter a range of addresses (192.168.2.1 to 192.168.2.254) but may not work on the syntax to do this. The Administrator's guide and QAnywhere mention that ranges are supported but only provide examples for specific hosts.

    Can anyone help?

    I think that the command affects the iptables on the codec which is a linux-based system.

    For the 192.168.2.1 to 192.168.2.254 range you might have to specify the following:

    xConfiguration network 1 RemoteAccess allow: "192.168.2.0/24.

    I tried this on my system:

    xConfiguration network 1 RemoteAccess allow: "144.254.10.0/24."

    Then the iptables show entry suite:

    [dderidde-ex90-home: / var/log/eventlog] $ iptables - n list

    INPUT string (policy ACCEPT)

    target prot opt source destination

    Admin channel (1 items)

    target prot opt source destination

    ACCEPT all les--144.254.10.0/24 0.0.0.0/0

    Drop tous--0.0.0.0/0 0.0.0.0/0

    That should do it I think.

    According to the PrecisionHDMC camera Guide, page 17, the camera cables that usually come with codecs can be 5, 6.5, or up to 20 meters.  Anything more than 5 meters requires the camera powered by the power of the camera and not the codec using the camera control cable itself.

    I have a few installs custom where the camera control cable is well up to 75-100 feet.  Just follow the outputs pins on the same page as above to make your own cable and don't forget to use the POWER-CAM-V = power supply to power the device.

    We know that HDMI cab be extended to aid commercial Extender HDMI, but we do not know if the C60 uses standard HDMI signal. and what about the control cable. ?

    You can use any standard HDMI extender to extend HDMI video cable.

    For camera control cable, you can make your own cable from camera to extend existing or just cable one as long as you need. See the camera cable pinout scheme in the PrecisionHDMC camera Guide on pg 17. If the camera cable is more than 5 meters, the unit must be plugged into a power supply for camera (PSU-CAM-V =), as the time is too long for the codec to power the camera.

  • Cisco Codec C40 remove wallpaper

    Hi all.

    In our installation of cisco telepresence, that we met an interesting question:

    the cisco c40 codec admin created a custom wallpaper, somehow this wallpaper was not appropriate for this codec for 100%.

    After that he transferred the wallpaper on the unit - it restarts. We see a cyclical reboot - boots of unity, we see a cisco logo, then we see a (part of the GUI) overlay on the monitor, after this codec is trying to load wallpaper, fails and went into reboot.

    Are there ways to manually remove this wallpaper of the codec s flash without hard resetting the codec?

    I activated high security and after the reset mode, I can not connect with any account via the web site. Any suggestions?

    Keep informing me that the credentials are not valid...

    If there is no prompt to change your password to meet the security requirements (see the C40 Administrator's Guide pg 48), or you are not able to use or the old password (before being forced to change).  The only thing I can think is if you have no login required turn on to the serial port, you can directly connect the codec and change the admin password.  Essentially, you have forgotten the password and the only option is to reset factory endpoint, if it comes to it, see this discussion: password recovery.

    Information provided by Diakite added.

    CTS-PHD1080P12XS2 = is Gen 2 12 x camera that was outside for more specifically port HDSDI issues.

    If you have a specific plan to use the camera on the HDSDI port and that too on the longer cable up to 100 feet distance so go ahead S2 else

    CTS-PHD-1080P12XS = his is the same from the other and will not any question on HDSDI or HDMI ports.

  • Updated codec C40 to the latest version of the TC software - use CUCM?

    I need to upgrade our C40 codecs to patch the vulnerability of Bash.  Currently they all run TC5.1.3.292001.

    I noticed a few options in the download options for the included C40.

    (1) Non-crypto and crypto software.  The way I read it, this refers only to the software itself, not any kind of codec options?

    (2) "to be used with CUCM"-I'm not sure how to check it. "  I inherited these devices with no documentation and the original seller is pretty useless.  Is it possible to check?  We use CUCM, but to my knowledge, our phones can't integrate directly with the TP system (we have customers MOVI for this).

    I don't think that Cisco has published a version of TC software that has the fix vulnerabilities of bash.

    The non-crypto software has none of the feature SSL on it - IE. signaling/media figures. Usually goes with cryptography is the safer bet unless you're from a country that has to import restrictions.

    CUCM - if your termination points are saved to CUCM, then you must use the version of the file CUCM. It will be uploaded to the server CUCM himself by going to install/upgrade the Administration of Cisco's operating system and restart the TFTP service. In this way, the file will be pushed down from the server when the codec is reset.

    For the non-CUCM, you use the other file and download the .pkg directly on the codecs. It seems to me that you have a VCS based so the .pkg file deployment, this is what you will use.

  • How to dial directly to an IP address (point to point a.k.?) of the Codec C40

    We are looking to replace old Polycomm and Tandberg units with a telepresence C40 faithful.  On old Polycomm and Tandberg units, we can simply enter the endpoint IP address and connect.

    This unit of C40 has been attached to a CUCM and worked through their guardian.  We have done a factory reset the device, so we can move our network IP "Naked" in an accessible IP address.  However, we cannot make calls: it simply says 'Connection' and is there, doing nothing.

    Troubleshooting-> Diagnostics Web page, said "the call by default protocol is set to Auto, but the system is not registered on this Protocol".

    I guess the C40 can direct an IP address as our previous Polycomm and Tandberg units?

    Should what settings I use as the DefaultCall Configuration?  For the moment, it is 'auto '.

    In Configuration H323 I;

    Set the configuration of appeal to force H.323.

    The E.164 alias is a number as an extension system, but unless you have a doorman with dial plan of this won't be necessary and can be left blank. However, its value put something in the name of the system box so that the other side can see appealed.

    You should be able to dial via direct IP - I suspect his tent to dial via SIP and failing. Forcing them to use H.323 should do the trick.

    We start to have problems with the cords on our profiles and the older 8 "Prodigy.  Anyone who has used the new Touch 10 on an endpoint older?

    This has been asked several times here in the forums since the Touch 10 have been released with the new generation of codecs. The 10 touch works with the SX10/20/80, MX200/300 G2, MX700/800 only. No other codecs are supported.
