Cisco TelePresence system Codec C40

I activated high security and after the reset mode, I can not connect with any account via the web site. Any suggestions?

Keep informing me that the credentials are not valid...

If there is no prompt to change your password to meet the security requirements (see the C40 Administrator's Guide pg 48), or you are not able to use or the old password (before being forced to change).  The only thing I can think is if you have no login required turn on to the serial port, you can directly connect the codec and change the admin password.  Essentially, you have forgotten the password and the only option is to reset factory endpoint, if it comes to it, see this discussion: password recovery.

  • End of sale (EoS) / end of life (EoL) information on Cisco TelePresence system 1700 MXP

I have a question about the EoL (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collaboration-endpoints/eos-eol-po...) policy and the announcement of EoS/EoL Cisco TelePresence system 1700 MXP (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/collaboration-endpoints...).

According to the policy of the EoL, paragraph 4 ter, "after the first year and for the operating system SW - if available - we will offer bug fixes, versions of maintenance, workarounds or patches for a period of 4 years for operating system software."  Therefore, it is 5 years after the Date of the EoS, which could make the OS support close on 28/02/2017 EoL products.  I'm one to believe that a product and its applicable operating system are good as long as the company provides patches for bugs/flaws.

My question is about the migration of the product suggestions.  The suggestion is to "migrate to the Cisco EX Series (the EX60 or solution EX90) telepresence system."  However, when the announcement of EoS/EoL EX60 inspection, the "SW maintenance communicated End Date of: HW, SW OS ' 06 07, 2016.  Note that it is not the end of Maintenance SW verbiage in 1700 MXP EoS/EoL announcement.  I'm under the assumption that the new product within OS support only one model exceeded?  Why anyone would follow the suggested migration if I get fewer months support OS than an older model?  Should I go out of date on the announcement of the EoS/EoL, or use the 5-year rule as shown in the end of life policy.

If I am interpreting this wrong, please do not hesitate to correct me.  I am trying to understand the explicit verbiage in the end of life and ads EoS/EoL policy.

As the 1700 MXP announcement was published in 2011, at that time, the EX60/90 was a legitimate substitute. However years later, endpoints EX Series are now EOS, you should look at alternatives for the EX series instead.

The announcement of the EOS/EOL indicates a date of end of software support, you should go there. The reason that ad 1700 MXP does not list one could be that the date of assumption of the software had already spent or they simply don't have the list at the time. Looking at the latest version of the software for the 1700 MXP, it's F9.3.3 in 2014, I highly doubt, there will be another, but you never know given that other points of MXP endpoints that are not past their published end date of software support.

  • Cisco TelePresence system Quick Set C20 - version 7.0.1

Why the LyncCompatibility Mode has been removed versions 7.x?  Or he just moved to another menu?

    Hello

OK, the configuration in lynccompatibility has been removed in TC7. The reason is that VCS X8.1 does this job better, it's easy to set up, and you don't need to use TC6.3 with the lynccompatibility configuration. The VCS will make interoperability for any version of TC.

At the time, this feature has been imeplemented on TC, VCS (x 7) couldn't do interoperability, while it was possible to do this work by allowing this configuration, although this was not recommended and no longer considered as a test of the configuration. This required also extinguish the B2BUA on VCS that could cause other to break interoperation scenarios.

The recommendation is to let the VCS do interoperability and leave as it is the endpoint.

  • Backup of configuration Cisco Codec C40

    Dear all,

Can I know how to take backup of the configuration of the Cisco Codec C40, please?

And also help me with the document of the administrator?

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards

    Syed

You can simply copy the output of the xConfiguration and paste it into the SSH client.  You may need to change the output a bit to get the correct formatting, however.  For example, the output registered since my SHH client contains a preceding * c which must be removed before that I can stick again in the SSH client:

    *c xConfiguration Video Wallpaper: Waves
When you perform a software update, codec configuration, including the keys installed option is not affected and will remain in the process. Keys options include Premium (PR), double (DD) display resolution and Multisite (MS). C40 has been end of sales since June 2015, so it is not possible to order anything for this, see eos-eol-notice-c51-733467. Procedure to upgrade the software codec is on pg 28, the same page mentioned in my previous answer. To upgrade codec software, you will need a release key when switching from one major version to another, as TC5 to TC7. You can request a release of the Cisco Licensing Portal key > obtain other Licenses > telepresence free software key, as long as the device has an active support contract. If you do not have an active support contract, you can contact TAC and get the free unlock key by referencing the Security Advisory cisco-sa-20160504-tpxml, which you can get a key to unlocking TC7.
  • Cisco Codec C40 remove wallpaper

    Hi all.

In our installation of cisco telepresence, that we met an interesting question:

the cisco c40 codec admin created a custom wallpaper, somehow this wallpaper was not appropriate for this codec for 100%.

After that he transferred the wallpaper on the unit - it restarts. We see a cyclical reboot - boots of unity, we see a cisco logo, then we see a (part of the GUI) overlay on the monitor, after this codec is trying to load wallpaper, fails and went into reboot.

Are there ways to manually remove this wallpaper of the codec s flash without hard resetting the codec?

    Hi Eugene,

Try to login as an administrator using ssh/console and run the following command:

  • Cisco Codec C40

I've recently updated the software on a device of cisco codec c40.

The software has also updated the firmware on camera1.

Unfortunately it didn't update the firmware on camera2.

The cameras are connected in Garland.

Is there a simple way to update the firmware on camera2? (Such as running certain commands on c40 codec?)

  • matching codec c40 with ISDN link problem

    Hello world

Would really appreciate if someone can help me with my problem.

I have 2 sites. Each site has a c40 codec which is connected to a cisco ISDN link box. Each box contains 3 BRI connections. The system is essentially set up at the video-conference from one site to the other. C40 codecs have been paired with boxes of ISDN link manually due to the old firmware. Now that the firmware has been upgraded on all devices, I am trying to pair the codec with the ISDN link using the 'auto' mode so I can configure the ISDN codec c40 GUI link.

The problem I have is that when I pair it in auto mode, the ISDN link is seen by the codec and matched succesffuly but I get an "error" and the reason for the error is "no sip registered to peripheral H320" or something of the sort. The rest of the configuration is the same, all im doing is pairing in auto mode. At this point, I can't do a video call-out. Can I make changes to the GUI hoewever c40 ISDN link and it shows as paired.

When I change the sip profile out to 'off' in the sip codec c40 profile settings, now, there is no error. The sip profile in the ISDN link area is also set to off.

Can someone help me what are the correct settings for outgoing SIP and the above error message please. It will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

Outgoing SIP should be turned off if you use the ISDN codec liaison, so please meke it took off.

for the composition, should not use composition commnad complex that you scoop with TC 5.x and IT 1.0,

With TC 6.x just enter number and select protocol H320.

  • 1 2 codec C40 camera

    Hello

One of our clients have existing C40 telepresence video system and they want to add another codec C40 and connect it to the camera of the current system of C40. One camera, shared in two units of codec C40. Same room/location where to install the additional codec.

The goal, why the customer want this configuration because the existing system of the C40 was used by one of their partners and dedicated for that specific partner. They want to invest another C40 codec for their own video-conference sessions and for budgetary reason, that they just want to buy a codec and the use of the device the other C40 system's existing.

Even audio and video resources will be used. Audio and video distribution amplifiers are not a problem on this configuration.

My concern is that is - it possible to use a separator of type RJ45 for control of the camera's two codecs C40. The codecs will not be powered on at the same time.

And what could happen and if two codecs are accidentally turned on simultaneously. ?? Can it damage the camera?

Looking forward to your recommendations and your ideas.

    Thank you!

    Acevirgil

    Hi Acevirgil,

This is something not an ideal package to the top and I do not thing anyone he tried again. and he's going to run on no it is not planned.

Now you are going to use spillter on RJ45 and HDMI port,

Remember, you make a divider appropriate according to the pinout of the control cable. If the cable is long enough according to the prescribed length you will need to turn on the external camera. and you question if the two codec lights suddenly the camera answer is NO (to me), that power is not very high.

You can then go ahead and try first by a Dispatcher and test it before purchasing.

It can work if the wiring is done correctly.

    Thank you

    Ravi kr.

  • duplicate calls made using the alias between two codecs C40

We have 2 new codecs C40.  When calling between the two using the alias, it seems that 2 calls are made.  In a sense, we get a very quick disonnect message upon acceptance of the call.  In the other direction, the call comes in, but on disconnect, we get a message saying missed call.

Seems that the search rules can be duplication of the call some how - probably him endpoint becomes a call SIP and H.323 call at the same time. Could you post the call details and history/details of research?

  • Driver of Cisco Telepresence - room LoopBack

    Hello world

Is it possible to create a meeting room on Cisco Telepresence driver that will return the video to the appellant alone in the room? As the [email protected] / * / Cisco's Sip URI? (A kind of selfview room)

    Thanks for your help.

It is possible to show only one participant connected to a MCU conference selfview, but not for telepresence Server conferences.  It comes without caring if the driver is involved or not.  The service provided by Cisco closure is obtained with the C40/60 endpoints where the audio and the video plays in a loop directly to the connected call (output HDMI to HDMI-in, output audio RCA audio-in RCA/RCA).

  • Need help with the command options of codec C40

Hello! I plan to buy a few codecs C40 and seller offers me to buy three options for this, but I can't find a description of these options. Seller is not so appropriate as I would like and these options cost a lot. They are here:

LIC-INTP-C40-DD Option of dual inclusive package C40
LIC-INTP-C40-SM IntPkg Codec C40, 4Way individual transcoding Multisite
    LIC-INTP-C40-PR IntPkg Codec C40Premium resolution (1080 p/720 p 60) Option

I found the document with similar options here (table 3), but there is also no description:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/prod/collateral/ps7060/ps11304/ps11312/ps11332/data_sheet_c78-628593_ps11422_Products_Data_Sheet.html

I think that these options it is me

one) to use two screens (only two or more?) with C40

    (b) serve as C40 MCU for up to four sites without going through any additional autonomous MCU

    (c) to use video FullHD for videocalls (but I'll buy cameras 1080 p for C40, I need licence also for C40?)

So, I would ask someone who is familiar with the command of Cisco/Tandberg to describe these options.

You are actually right on your assumptions and descriptions, you just pretty much what each of these options do listed.

    Dual display-

C40 has the ability to display the same video on both outputs by default, if you do not get this option.  This option is to display two separate video sources on two screens, such as: Farsite on output 1 and content/selfview on output 2.

    High resolution-

You might be buying cameras 1080 p but resolution premium will allow you to pass resolutions higher during a call.  You can still view the full HD video when not in a call although if you choose not to get this option.

can I install a telepresence system in an office with a UC560 or simply not use any appeals officer in the implementation of a telepresence system 1300?

    Hello

With CTS endpoints you MUST use cucm to save the endpoints and callmanager will manage the firmware of endpoints, road marking, speed disls, midlet and all the other options and to let the CTS human access to these endpoints for control of booking and call for calls point to point and multipoint

On the use of VPN recently it is authorized by cisco, according to me, especially for the endpoints one screen you can search for telepresence on wide band for a few cisco whitepapers

  • Cisco Telepresence with H.264 High Profile

    Hello

Do you know the guy when cisco will implement its telepresence system the H.264 High Profile? The competitor argues that with this technology, they can get 50% bandwidth savings.

    Hi Mario,.

As you know we have different BW requirement depending on the system type and the number of screens, our implementation of The High profile adds quality features that contribute to or superior to the same baud rate or bitrate of savings at the same quality.

No change not being made to the resolutions supported or flow rates at the moment.  The only change is an increase in the perception of quality in the images. When P.C. is a problem we offer 720 Lite and SCTA which was presented in point 1.6. From our competitors will be interesting if they still offer the same speed/quality, as we do, and if you have more details, we can compare more in detail
