10/20/2015, said out of warranty purchase date system. Help less than 1 year...

System says I'm out of warranty and has a date of 29/09/15 but my watch purchase receipt 10/20/2015. Cannot reach a live person. Any number or e-mail to reach a live person for support if system thinks I'm out of warranty?

You cannot discuss or talk on the phone with a professional Acer support if your SNID is listed as "out of warranty". You can will not receive a 3rd party that will help you for a fee. (very frustrating)

After several attempts, I finally found someone with the 3rd party provider who was able to fix the status 'out of warranty '. The first tests I was told that they could not help me with the inaccurate warranty status because they do not work for Acer.

    I suggest you to see these steps:

    • Press right on your mouse button when your desktop is visible. A menu will appear.
    • Move your mouse to the bottom of the menu and click on the word "Properties".
    • Look at the tabs under the marked blue title bar "display properties". You should be able to see one marked "screen saver". Click the screen saver tab once. You should now see a small monitor.
    • Look for the dropdown next to the marked buttons 'Settings' and 'Preview '. Click on the arrow down on the right side of the menu drop down.
    • Look at the list of available screensavers. The first menu is marked '(none) '. Click on this title. Once you have clicked on the title, the "Apply" button will become operational.
    • Click on the button apply. Close the display properties window and the Control Panel window. You have now properly disabled your screen saver.

  • HP15-g088ca: HP 15 laptop computer purchased less than 2 years ago. Broken hinge, display cases of separation. HP, please help.

    My son uses his laptop computer HP15 home to his office, rarely transporting.  He never gave it and a sweet user.

    The left hinge seems to be broken / defective, and separates the window.  For now, we are all leaving the screen open all the time, but it's a little awkward and the problem is certainly on a laptop less than 2 years old.

    Looking at the forum, it looks like a common problem.

    We are fans of HP in general, so I hope that this problem can be solved.

    HP solved the problem free of charge, including shipping in both directions and repair.

    It took ten days in total, and we used the laptop without a problem for about 10 days more.

    It seems that the hinges for laptop and the display case were entirely replaced, and no data has been lost.

    My son is thrilled to have his laptop in return, and to my eyes, HP just went through.

    I wouldn't hesitate to buy another HP product, although I confess in the hope that:

    (1) HP manufacuring no longer uses defective parts

    (2) HP treats everyone with this problem of hinge with the same care

    A took my phone in to the apple store 3 days ago, customer service agent said that my phone was weird as the firmware settings being a Verizon phone and no active carrier State. But I've been with ATT and same contract life of this phone, etc.

    He explained that a few weeks ago, I noticed really inaccurate GPS navigation / does not work. Then it is gradually degraded, now he can only determine my region approximate place of about 5 miles. Bluetooth started getting weaker and weaker to the point where it must be my headset in 2 PI or he cutt out / disconnects.

    WiFi is probably about 50% of what it was before regarding the speed and battery life, it seems the least affected but still very visible, will all the minutes and include to reconnect.

    We did a full AND fresh network iOS install and set up as a new phone, I have not restored from backup because I wanted to see if it was a software problem. But this isn't the case, because questions are still there even after reformatting.

    The iPhone is about 2 months out of warranty, what are my options? I see that you can send it in for repair, but I can't really go without a phone for 3-5 days. What is the cost of a replacement unit, all out of contract price?

    Ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated. My upgrade to pro rata happen att just before the iPhone 7 which is close but still a little further, trying to figure out how to wait outside until then with the least pain and money spent.

    While you were on the Apple store, you should have summer offer an out-of-warranty replacement. It would be kind of replacement and the cost for an iPhone 6 would be to $299.

    Please can someone tell me if it is true that to use HP factory recovery disks, hardware must be exactly the same as when purchased.

    After hours wasted trying to get the recovery disks to work, I find myself with the same "failed to retrieve @ screen and some unnecessary lines of code."

    In reading the various posts, it seems that I have a replacement for HP HARD drive of the same type that came with the computer. If this is the case, then the links on the support pages should say this before I have pay £39 for a set of disks.

    For me, a hard drive is a hard drive. I replaced a drive fried (1 month out of warranty expires) with a good brand replacement, but larger. Disks won't load.

    However, I could load W7 form an iso file and get that to work. I need the recovery because I do not know how to configure raid which allows the QuickStart on this laptop, and I don't have the time or no further inclination to make it work.

    Partly a rant, sorry, but I'm wrong, and is there a solution?

    I have seen others with this problem. Unfortunately, the only working solution, I remember the top was where a guy removed the player cache Msata, ran recovery then reinstalled.

    On a single charge of Win 7 I think you could install the Intel Quick Start software, then use it to activate the quick start. I have more a laptop Win 7 with Msata to test, but I remember the software could be opened from the icon beside the system clock and used to toggle the quick start.

    I bought my 2408WFP for photographic work. About 2 years ago, he developed a vertical column of bright green pixels to the right, which disappears once it gets warmer.  Dell support told me that I was out of luck because it was out of warranty. Fortunately, I was able to live with the scratches, because I know ultimately it will go away, and it is somewhat useful, as it tells me when the monitor has reached its working temperature. Unfortunately, in recent months he has also developed what I can only describe as brilliant green snow, a bit like a badly tuned analog TV could have showed. The snow seems to be more attracted to lines or edges where there is a strong contrast between light and darkness, but it spreads through the entire display area. I tested it on Windows 7 original DVI, VGA connector, using a different graphics card, Windows 8 on HDMI using my Tablet and HDMI with my linux netbook. I can confirm that snow occurs in all four combinations. There seems to be less of a problem on the netbook, but I suspect that it is because it can not simply driving the monitor at its full resolution. I must say that I am really disappointed by that. It's the most expensive monitor that I have ever bought and I expect it to last more than five years. I agree with comments elsewhere on this forum about "eventually out electronics. There are no moving parts in this device, which means that the snow is due to one or more defective components. The absence of an official repair center is also a real problem for me, and the replacement, the U2413, was AU $150 more than the 2408. Unfortunately, the Dell is only 24 "monitor with the support of the color gamut Adobe RGB that I can afford, but I hate the idea of paying that kind of money when I already have what should be a functional monitor. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get assistance from Dell in order to minimize the cost of replacement?

    I want to install a new hard drive in my 4 years old Mac Mini. It is out of warranty. The hard drive has failed. Installation seems pretty easy, but once I have change the old hard drive with the new, how to restore the internet of the OS. I don't have a recovery disk.

    Assuming that your model never came with a DVD of recovery:

    Clean Install of El Capitan on a new disc

    1. Restart the computer. Immediately after the chime, press Command + Option + R until a globe appears.
    2. The Utility Menu appears in 5 to 20 minutes. Be patient.
    3. Select disk utility, then click on the continue button.
    4. When loading disk utility, select the drive (generally, the entry Out-bumpy) in the list aside.
    5. Click the Partition tab in the main window of disk utility. A panel will fall.
    6. Set the GUID partition scheme.
    7. Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled).
    8. Click on the apply button, then click the fact when it is active.
    9. Quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu.
    10. Select reinstall OS X and click on the continue button.

    This should install it the version of Mac OS X that has been previously installed when the computer was new.
