2408WFP, green "snow" around lines, out of warranty

Hello

I bought my 2408WFP for photographic work. About 2 years ago, he developed a vertical column of bright green pixels to the right, which disappears once it gets warmer.  Dell support told me that I was out of luck because it was out of warranty. Fortunately, I was able to live with the scratches, because I know ultimately it will go away, and it is somewhat useful, as it tells me when the monitor has reached its working temperature. Unfortunately, in recent months he has also developed what I can only describe as brilliant green snow, a bit like a badly tuned analog TV could have showed. The snow seems to be more attracted to lines or edges where there is a strong contrast between light and darkness, but it spreads through the entire display area. Unlike the vertical line, this snow appears only when the monitor is warmed up, which makes it next to useless. I tested it on Windows 7 original DVI, VGA connector, using a different graphics card, Windows 8 on HDMI using my Tablet and HDMI with my linux netbook. I can confirm that snow occurs in all four combinations. There seems to be less of a problem on the netbook, but I suspect that it is because it can not simply driving the monitor at its full resolution. I must say that I am really disappointed by that. It's the most expensive monitor that I have ever bought and I expect it to last more than five years. I agree with comments elsewhere on this forum about "eventually out electronics. There are no moving parts in this device, which means that the snow is due to one or more defective components. The absence of an official repair center is also a real problem for me, and the replacement, the U2413, was AU $150 more than the 2408. Unfortunately, the Dell is only 24 "monitor with the support of the color gamut Adobe RGB that I can afford, but I hate the idea of paying that kind of money when I already have what should be a functional monitor. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get assistance from Dell in order to minimize the cost of replacement?

Frank

canismajor,

We do not move away from politics the purchase guarantee nor can we offer any credit towards another purchase of monitor.

  • Yoga 2 inches 11 cost of out-of-warranty battery replacement

How much does it cost to replace the battery for the new Yoga 2 11 inches when you are out of warranty? Batteries die within 1 or 2 years about and at this time there, you're also out of warranty the standard warranty of 1 year. I'm looking into buying a portable Yoga 2 11 inches and a part of the decision-making process between this and other brand of PC or Macbook is how much it would cost to replace the battery, since it is a non-replaceable by the user stack. I know that with Apple, it's $ 129 to replace the battery. This information is readily available on the Internet. However with Lenovo, this information is not available everywhere.

I have already contacted on the phone the Sales Department, which is unclear and transferred me to the tech Department, who told me that the parts or sales would have that information. When I told them that the sales referred me to tech, I was transferred to pieces. Parts told me that they need the serial number to give me an accurate price on the drum part, but since I don't, I told them that I'm interested in the Yoga 2 11 inch model to which they said they can't give me a price because they cannot know with certainty what is the part number. Yet once I tried sales, this time via online chat, and once again, they have no information and referred me to tech or contact a lenovo reseller.

So nobody knows how much a battery replacement cost? Somebody should know since I do not know those charged to get their battery replaced some time down the line. I think it's a simple question, how much does it cost to replace a battery for the battery and work when you are out of warranty? Thank you

    Hello

part numbers, you will need are 121500224 (lg) and 121500223 (simplo). for the price, I suggest you call again support.

  • The urge to Ultrabook 6 problem with recovery after failure of hard drive (out of warranty)

    Hello

Please can someone tell me if it is true that to use HP factory recovery disks, hardware must be exactly the same as when purchased.

After hours wasted trying to get the recovery disks to work, I find myself with the same "failed to retrieve @ screen and some unnecessary lines of code."

In reading the various posts, it seems that I have a replacement for HP HARD drive of the same type that came with the computer. If this is the case, then the links on the support pages should say this before I have pay £39 for a set of disks.

For me, a hard drive is a hard drive. I replaced a drive fried (1 month out of warranty expires) with a good brand replacement, but larger. Disks won't load.

However, I could load W7 form an iso file and get that to work. I need the recovery because I do not know how to configure raid which allows the QuickStart on this laptop, and I don't have the time or no further inclination to make it work.

Partly a rant, sorry, but I'm wrong, and is there a solution?

    Concerning

I have seen others with this problem. Unfortunately, the only working solution, I remember the top was where a guy removed the player cache Msata, ran recovery then reinstalled.

On a single charge of Win 7 I think you could install the Intel Quick Start software, then use it to activate the quick start. I have more a laptop Win 7 with Msata to test, but I remember the software could be opened from the icon beside the system clock and used to toggle the quick start.

  • Green and purple lines

    Hello

My HP Pavilion g6 - 1207ev is the Green and purple lines on the screen appearing. He started out of the blue, they come ang from time to time, but when they appear, they remain even after it closes down or restart.

    Any piece of advice?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi @phekal

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

So, it looks like you have intermittent video display problems. I'm happy to help you with this.

When happens the screen glitch happened after the computer has been running for a while, or it is immediately after power-up?

You said the problem recurs after a stop and restart. Is this an immediate restart or you let the system closed for a period of time?

If the computer is stopped, for say half an hour, and then restarted never arrive glitch screen?

I am trying to determine if it seems to happen when the computer is hot and has worked, or if it occurs also on starting cold. If this only happens when the computer is hot or warm, so it suggests a problem of heat or a board failure. If it happens randomly on a boot cold and often does not occur if the computer has been running for a long period, it may be a conflict pilot any.

  • Cost of recovery disc (all?)? Hard drive just died out of warranty

DV7-3065DX, 16 months old and HD died a few days earlier, totally dead. I ordered a replacement, but now that I am out of warranty and of course I have no operating system (as it was on the disc now dead), can I order the disks with a discount at HP? Their office is closed now. Can I get Windows 7 family of Amazon for about a hundred bucks, but as I have a valid key on the back of this laptop hate the idea of paying for an OS I used legitimately. Thank you!

You can order a recovery disc of HP for around $ 16. The game will reinstall Windows and all original drivers & software on the laptop.

  • HELP NEEDED PLS EMERGENCY! -All new V313w printer paper feed - and apparently out of warranty already? If no support online?

I bought a new laptop and printer V313w all-in-one a month ago. and I only turned on the printer for the first time today because of a need to send invitations to an upcoming event.

I used the printer to print envelopes and about 15 sheets of specialty paper. Until all of a sudden it starts to chew the paper and do not supply through everything in print.

I check online for drivers and updates and download all the relevant files. Try again and still has the same problem, whenever I have print now it chews paper. in fact, it looks like the print head is ripping through the paper.

I try to find online for assistance too find that apparently it is already out of warranty?

Everyone here has similar problems with the V313w? Is really starting to get frustrated, because I can't even contact Dell for assistance as I apparently no guarantee?

Any help from people out there would be appreciated. I really need to try to get the last few invitations printed. (and I'm not buying a printer in order to 15 pieces of paper! only to have to throw it out and by another brand)

    Thank you in advance.

    Thanks for your reply.

After about 3 hours of trial and error. (and a lot of paper wasted and torn). I found the problem.

V313w paper feeding, there are several small curlers who seem to be held in place using small springs. they are really hard to do because there is only one opening to remove the jammed paper. in my case, two of these rolls were lower than the rest. This has created in turn issues when printing because it would interrupt the queue through paper.

After many difficulties, I finished with a set of pliers tweezers for these rolls in line with the rest of the rolls.

Because now the printer seems to work, so I just assume that these rollers must have been shaken loose / out of position during childbirth.

So for anyone having problems similar to the printer not feed paper and ripping upward, then check out these small rollers to ensure that it does not obstruct the paper to move through as expected.

  • Addition of DIY SSD for iMac end 2013 now out of warranty

    Data sheet:

    • iMac (21.5 inch, at the end of 2013)
    • 2.9 GHz i5
    • 8GBs of RAM
    • 1 TB HARD DRIVE

He is now out of warranty, so I think about adding an internal SSD flash drive. However, I did no workshop manual and have never looked inside. However, before making such a change, I would like to know if it is possible, how it will be difficult and if one SSD 2.5 "can be added or a PCIe SSD if there is a slot on the motherboard.

If you have useful information, I would greatly appreciate your passing along.

The end of 2013 21.5 "has only one SATA connector on the system board so your only choice is to replace the hard drive, cannot add a second internal drive. You can find several guides repair for your computer here https://www.ifixit.com/Device/iMac_Intel_21.5%22_EMC_2638

  • Apple will replace my irreparable out of warranty iphone 5?

I have an iPhone 5 that I bought in a store here in Ireland. There is no official apple store in Ireland, but I can bring a premium dealer. I had a problem with my iPhone a few months where the phone went into a constant reboot cycle. It was repaired at a local phone repair shop. Recently, I'm having a problem where I can not even the phone past the apple logo. I brought the same repair shop, but this time, they said it is more serious and maybe he isn't able to fix at all. I was wondering if I brought the phone to one of these premium dealers, would they be able to repair/Exchange my phone for free? Thank you

Sorry, but if a no Apple authorized repair service the iPhone, all service options provided by Apple, including out-of-warranty replacement, will have disappeared.

Only Apple or Apple authorized service providers must repair the phone.

  • No sound docking station line out

HP Elitebook 8540p, HP Docking Station VB043AA #ABA, Windows 7 64-bit. audio output works very well for a portable loudspeakers and headphones for laptop; When I plug the speaker docking station output cable, the sound continues to come from the internal speakers. When I right click on "speaker" icon and select 'reading devices' I see ' speakers / HP ' and "headphones (RTC)" but I see no option to upgrade to the alignment of the docking station.

problem solved! labels (and the documentation of the docking station) apparently are back! with the arrow pointing TOWARDS the hole is the LINE-OUT. I can only assume the other jack would be online but I have not tested. someone fell asleep for a while on the Assembly line because my co-workers with the same platform with the same problem. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but don't "arrow pointing away from jack" = "line out" = "jack speaker?

  • Qosmio X 770 - 11 c - how to disable on board the speakers when you use Line Out?

    Hello

Is it possible to disable on board to intervene when the output line is used.

Currently, if I plug in a cable to the socket of hadphone and choose alignment on the realtek Control Panel, sound is output line out as expected, but also through the internal speakers.

Is it possible to stop this and don't have sound out through the output line?

    Thank you

    Graeme

If you want to hear his helmet only you should choose option helmet.
Disconnect the cable and reconnect it. When you see the small window on the screen where you can choose between the headphones and output line options choose headphones and you'll hear on external display only.

In case you have disabled this pop-up dialog box you can activate it manually. Open the Realtek Manager connect the external device and when you see active point black on the right side make double click here and change the settings.

  • iPhone 6 GPS | WIFI | BlueTooth low or NO Signal, out of warranty. Options?

A took my phone in to the apple store 3 days ago, customer service agent said that my phone was weird as the firmware settings being a Verizon phone and no active carrier State. But I've been with ATT and same contract life of this phone, etc.

He explained that a few weeks ago, I noticed really inaccurate GPS navigation / does not work. Then it is gradually degraded, now he can only determine my region approximate place of about 5 miles. Bluetooth started getting weaker and weaker to the point where it must be my headset in 2 PI or he cutt out / disconnects.

WiFi is probably about 50% of what it was before regarding the speed and battery life, it seems the least affected but still very visible, will all the minutes and include to reconnect.

We did a full AND fresh network iOS install and set up as a new phone, I have not restored from backup because I wanted to see if it was a software problem. But this isn't the case, because questions are still there even after reformatting.

The iPhone is about 2 months out of warranty, what are my options? I see that you can send it in for repair, but I can't really go without a phone for 3-5 days. What is the cost of a replacement unit, all out of contract price?

Ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated. My upgrade to pro rata happen att just before the iPhone 7 which is close but still a little further, trying to figure out how to wait outside until then with the least pain and money spent.

While you were on the Apple store, you should have summer offer an out-of-warranty replacement. It would be kind of replacement and the cost for an iPhone 6 would be to $299.

  • Qosmio F30-117 - green and blue lines on screen

Then my F30-117 worked well recently until I turned on and had green and blue lines (kind of like scan lines) straddling the fence.
I tried to install the new drivers from nvidia, but that has not worked, as Vista comes to pick up their as unknown.

Anyone who has a solution? Don't you think that the graphics card needs to be replaced?

    Thanks in advance!

    -Eric Zehetbauer.

You can easily determine what's the reason for this.
    Do you know how?

Simply connect an external monitor to the laptop and check the top image.
If you have the same problem on the external monitor, the reason is the graphics card or motherboard, otherwise it s a display problem internal.
    Check it!

In addition, you should only use the drivers from Toshiba. The Nvidia drivers don't have a for the graphics chip overheating protection could be damaged. It s on your own risk.
So, try to install the drivers of Toshiba.

  • OfficeJet 6830: out of warranty repair

I have a 6830 who had a problem with printhead. I use the HP system failures and offered to repalce the printer HP as it was for 11 months in a 12 month warranty. I received the replacement printer which was a unit REFURBUSHED. I installed the replacement unit and it worked for about 1 week. At this point, I have a scanner error making the device unusable. At this point, I'm now outside the guarantee the guarantee is related to the original printer. I still go through the online troubleshooting system. He rejected me after entering new serial number to be outside the warranty period, which is still based on the original unit.

A little, I have a problem with this strategy. Not only has HP me sent a unit refurbished, but it was not properly fixed at HP.  Now, I can't find a phone number to speak with a representative to see what they have to offer and to feel, they hide behind their support online self-service system.

  • Adapter Toshiba 2 weeks out of warranty

I've been very disappointing to know that Toshiba will honor no guarantee of the a/c adapter as its 2 weeks out of warranty. What happened to the good will and good gestures.

I used to work for after-sales service and we would always honor guarantee for fair products outside of the warranty period. I know that this is not an expensive part, but simply a gesture of goodwill, perhaps send me a working used or refurbished nine AC adapter / CC could have been nice.

    Hello Nicko

On the one hand I agree with you on the other hand each company serius has defined rules how it works. Each Toshiba service provider is a small independent company with a contract with Toshiba and they must follow clear rules on movements of warranty or goodwill.

Believe me I know several cases where Toshiba has made such actions. I put t know how you talked with the people working there, but usually there is always a way to get something for free.

Anyway, if you can't get it for free order new AC adapter on eBay. It is really cheap and certainly not the reason to be so disappointed.
