10 Easy Install Windows crashes with "VMware Fusion has encountered an error."

When I tried to install Windows 10 Pro on VMware Fusion 8, easy installation process works normally for awhile then crashes with "VMware Fusion has encountered an error."

I submitted a request for assistance, but other users have it met with the easy installation process?

Hi Douglas,.

It looks like a problem with your graphics driver or the graphics card:

VMware.log said it was the SVGA thread that crashed:

Many other people are also experiencing problems with Fusion 8 graphics cards and spare parts and/or the driver Nvidia on the web here: conflicts of Fusion 8.0 with Nvidia driver of web for Mac

Workarounds for this thread: try disabling acceleration 3D for the virtual machine.  Try to uninstall the driver Nvidia of the web and win back the builtin driver OS X.  If you use a spare graphics card, try reinstalling the original.

See you soon,.

  • Webcam not recognized in Windows XP with VMware Fusion

I use VMware Fusion 2.0 on a Macbook Pro with Windows XP.  I've been using Yahoo Messenger with the iSight webcam and I think I accidently deleted the icon at the bottom of the VMware window and now the web cam is not recognized in Windows at all.  The iSight camera works just fine under MacOS, but I can't find how to do Windows or VMware recognizes the camera.  I guess I could reinstall VMware and it might solve the problem but I'm looking for an easier route when it exists. Someone at - it a similar problem?

    Thank you

    Dennis

Have you checked the settings of your virtual machine to see if the isight is activated must be forwarded to the VM?  You might consider checking or setting these options under usb.  Also if you have version 2.0 only then you can consider update 2.0.5 before reinstalling VMware.

  • Genuine Windows 7 on MacBook Pro running in the partition, BootCamp with VMware Fusion 3.1

I'm having a problem with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.

I installed Windows 7 on my Bootcamp partition and until recently he worked well as well when I ran into VMWare Fusion.

When I boot on my Windows 7 on Bootcamp partition, everything is OK.  But then when I run it in VMWare Fusion it says that my copy is not genuine.

I just went through the automated phone system and entered the codes, and so now while I'm running Fusion Windows is genuine.

I fear, however, that when I return to the execution of the partition, Bootcamp, Windows will say that is not true, once again.

Only, I have a copy of Windows 7 and can only run from the VMWare Fusion or Bootcamp partition at any time.

How can I fix it if Windows is more said that it is not authentic, when I switch from a training camp and VMWare Fusion?

I need to be able to run Windows while I'm on the side of Mac at the same time

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you used the same Windows Installer Bootcamp, VMWare Fusion product key, there is the question.  You can only install and activate a 1 license of Windows 7.  The second installation requires own license that you can buy on the Microsoft Store. Carey Frisch

  • Using the stand-alone converter 5 with entry as local windows 7 in vmware fusion 4 output, the output is a folder with many files. How can I get this folder into a single file with the extension windows7.vmwarevm?

I use standalone converter where I am converting my local windows 7 in vmware fusion 4 at the exit. When I made the migration wizard previously, I had an output of a windows7.vmwarevm file. However, when I made the converter, I had a folder called windows7. In this case, I had several files.

Is there a way for me to convert all these files into one file, that is to say: windows7.vmwarevm? do I need to use the converter or other vmware tools?

    Welcome to the community,

Please take a look at Re: how to convert a package/package of my folder on drive hard/vmware fusion? to see if that helps. This is a pretty old post, but I think that it is still valid.

  • 10.10.2 OS problems install a DMG in VMWare Fusion

    Hello

-J' use an iMac, 10.10.2 system

    -J' bought VMWare Fusion 7.1.1

My goal is to be able to jump from my iMac (running OS 10.10.2 with VMWare Fusion installed) to a virtual machine Mac OS 10.7.5 (a carbon copy of my MacBookAir).

So, I made a carbon copy of the operating system as a whole on my MacBookAir as a DISK IMAGE (dmg).

Here are the steps I follow on VMWare, but it does not work. I would really appreciate the help. I have more resources.

    1. open VMWare Fusion.

2 file / new (installation method)

    3. I Select the first option being "Install from a CD or disk image" (see fig. 1)

    4. I click on ""use another disk or a disk image " "

    5. I Select my dmg file.

6 VMWare asked me to choose my of operation of the System (I do not know if I have to choose the operating system on my iMac running VMWare or the operating system on my disk Image... However I tried both)

    7. the result is the gray apple screen and then it blocks (see fig. 2).

Can anyone help? I'm completely lost...

    Thank you very much.

To answer why the steps you suggested do not work:

When you create a new virtual machine, Fusion expects that you will provide an operating system installation media (a picture CD/DVD or other medium containing the installation of the operating system application), not an image of the hard drive containing the operating system already installed.  Bascially, you have deceived merger taking the image from your hard drive and attaching it to a virtual CD/DVD drive.  The core of the operating system will take care of such a 'disc', but the installed operating system is expected to be on a writeable medium, while the virtual CD/DVD drive is not reading / writing (at least not in the sense that the core of the OS X wait... Burners of CD/DVDs do not count), and the OS crashes instead of start normally.

As far as I know, you have at least four options for moving forward:

    1. use your MBA to download the app to install OS X 10.7.  You can do this by going to The App Store on your MBA and option-click the purchases button and there you are looking for setup of OS X Lion.  Copy the resultant Installer OS X Lion.app to your iMac, and create the new virtual machine in Fusion, using this application as the installation media.  Then do 1 a or 1 b:

    1. during installation, you will be offered the opportunity to migrate files and settings from another computer... This facility allows to transfer your stuff in front of the MBA to the iMac.  This is by far the safest (and probably easiest) option.

    -or-

1B. stop the virtual machine with the freshly installed OS.  In the virtual machine settings, add a new virtual hard disk.  Also join the .dmg "insert" backup in the virtual CD/DVD drive.  Turn on the virtual machine and install CCC and use it to restore the .dmg backup of the entire system on the new hard drive (empty).  Power off the virtual computer.  Remove the first hard drive and turn off the CD/DVD drive to "eject" the .dmg backup.  Cross your fingers and the power on the virtual machine.

    -or-

    2. P2V, as suggested by ChipMcK.  (I've never used these special tools).  Opinions differ as to if P2V in Mac OS X is a good idea from the point of view of stability and reliability.  I have not encountered any problems, but I very rarely P2V.

    -or-

3 it should be possible (but not easy) to convert the .dmg you have a hard drive (hard) that you can attach to a virtual machine.  The procedure is not simple, and I don't think it's documented anywhere...  I'll try to put something together, if none of the previous solutions worked for you.

    See you soon,.

  • Windows 7 on VMware Fusion

I scoured some trail and error to install Windows 7 on my Virtual Machine. But after giving him a well-founded logical thought that I have accomplished the task. Most frequent concerns resulting was with SCSI controller problems. AFET overcome only by downloading files from the website of VMware and install in the folder C: / drive on my virtual Arena I could select it driver in the Windows 7 Installations pane and continue with the installation of the operating system.

However, I also had to ensure that the VMware Tools was up-to-date inorder to some hardware problems correct. However, there is always this problem with my computer internet setting virtual driver.

First of all you need not download any drivers SCSI from VMware to install Windows 7, if you do it right.

If by chance it was a Machine virtual Windows XP you upgraded to Windows 7 well you should not have wasted your time because Windows XP is not directly upgraded to Windows 7 and since it is a Virtual Machine, all you have to do is just to cross the new VM Wizard by selecting the version of Windows using your and if you use upgrade media then use the information contained in "[clean install Windows 7 with upgrade Media | ]. "[http://www.winsupersite.com/Win7/clean_install_upgrade_media.asp]" to the install/activate.  I use 2 method successfully.

If it's an upgrade, you can then delete the virtual Windows XP Machine after you have saved your user data and you have Windows 7 running.  CTR-click simply the target virtual machine on the Machine's virtual library and select Delete.

If you want to transfer files and settings, then take a look on:

Windows Easy Transfer for transferring from Windows XP (32 bit) to Windows 7

    Or

Windows Easy Transfer for transferring from Windows XP (64 bit) to Windows 7

    =========

In any case as ' However there is always this problem with fixing my VM internet pilot. "if it was an XP upgrade then this would explain and you need to change the Type of operating system to Windows 7 or Windows 7 x 64 and it can make the Virtual Machine library.  You also remove the network card under the parameters of the Virtual Machine, and then add again.  Note that you must do this with stop the Virtual Machine, not suspended.

Otherwise, take a look at the collection of information for VMware Fusion and archive and attach a copy of the configuration as well as the vmware.log file .vmx file.

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

The attached file "Windows_7.vmx.zip" contains a new 'Windows 7.vmx' file created from the supplied vmware.log file.

With VMware Fusion closed unzip (double-click on) attached file "Windows_7.vmx.zip" and replace the file "Windows 7.vmx" original by one here.

Installation of Windows Xp from a usb key involves a lot more than simply copy the files from one windows on a USB disk. It is much more difficult than don't imagine most (but not impossible). I did it a few times. Read the instructions on the two links below. The first link below is your best bet. You are not likely to do things immediately. It's ok, we are here...
