Satellite A205-S5804 - blue screen after installing XP

Hello.

I tried to do it twice in vain both times. I have the XP disc and I used it on my desk before so it does not work. Installation is finished and after it is done XP load and there is this blue screen that appears as a fraction of a second and I'm unable to read and then restart the PC. Very frustrating.

I'd like to really all the help that you can offer me. Toshiba customer service told me that this model only supports Windows VISTA, but there must be a way. Please help me.

Hey,.

Do you also have problems with the Toshiba Recovery disk or the Windows XP disc?

The problem is probably related to the drivers SATA may have installed XP correctly when you change the HARD drive in the BIOS from AHCI compatible?

    Hello

    You update the BIOS?
On several sets of Toshiba, the update of the BIOS is necessary if you go from XP to Vista or Vista to XP.

I'm not sure about the Toshiba notebooks for Australian but the European Satellite M100 supports a special BIOS in Vista.
I recommend you to check this first.

    In addition, I recommend trying to install BT stack from this Toshiba BT Portal;

  • Satellite U300-159 - blue screen after Windows 7 installation

Satellite U300-159. I did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Since the upgrade, it has blue screen every time you start after approx. 1 min. blue screen * STOP: 0x000000f4. The computer restarts it self after a while.

I checked memory with 2 different programs. No errors. HARD drive checked - no error.
Updated the BIOS, but get the error 1275 attempted using Toshibe updateprogram code.

Anybody have ideas, what to do?

    Hey,.

I m a bit confused about your ad first, you wrote that you did a clean install and then you wrote something about an upgrade
    What's true?

Anyway, if you see the blue screen in safe mode too? If this isn't the case, it seems to be a driver issue because in safe mode no drivers will be loaded.

    Hello!

You need to install SATA drivers before you install Windows and if you have compatible SATA mode you t need SATA drivers but you have lost performance a bit.

So I want to reinstall Windows in AHCI mode, you need to download the Toshiba Storage Manager (http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com).
Copy the driver on an external floppy drive and press F6 after starting the laptop to CD or create your own installation with nLite (http://www.nliteos.com/) disc.

If anyone has a solution to this help please!

Do what you should have done when the computer has been given to you: format the HARD drive and do a clean install of Windows.  Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) will NOT fix it!

HOW to do a clean install of Windows XP: see method 1 and http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html#steps in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978307

Once installed the clean, you will have the equivalent of a "new computer" in order to take care of everything on the next page before connecting the machine to the internet or one local network (i.e. other computers) otherwise and before using a flash drive or the SD card that is not brand new, or has not been freshly formatted:

Tip: After getting the computer fully patched, download/install KB971029 manually: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971029

NB: No matter what Norton or McAfee free trial which is preinstalled on the computer when you bought will be reinstalled (but invalid) when Windows is reinstalled. You MUST uninstall the trial for free and download/run the appropriate removal tool before installing updates, Service Packs Windows or IE upgrades and before installing your new anti-virus application (which will require WinXP SP3 must be installed).

If these procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, good reputation and stand-alone computer (that is, not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) repair facility.

  • I get a blue screen after installing windows7

I have intermittent blue screen of death after installing windows7 home premium on Pavilion m9040n. Can anyone help?

It is indeed a clean install of windows 7. Thanks for the reply, I solved the problem. The problem is I have a Hauppauge winTV TV tuner card is installed and cela mucks the other pilots on this installation. Everything went well after I got rid of the TV card. It seems that hauppage isn't a suitable driver for their card and windows 7 install their WDM driver for him and it does not. When I try to use the TV card and not a few seconds later, I get a blue screen of death and fans try to work overtime for an unknown reason.

  • Satellite T110-121 - blue screen after the installation of recovery

Hello everyone! My name is Melanie and I want to apologize for my English: I m french! I have big problems on my laptop, I will explain:

I had to install windows yesteday and I used the partition recovery, all worked but the last seetings, my computer fixed: blue screen. I have it reboot and I can log in on windows, now Toshiba software run at the end of the installation: install wireless and bluetouth BUT this software always get it fixed my computer or my screen is frozen, or screen of blus.

Then, I removed it from the startep of the software list and tried to install the drivers I found on the Toshiba site but for the wireless, I run the software add anything, and for the bluetooth it says error 2753: setupdiu.exe is not marked for installation.

So I m really disappointed, could you have some tips to help me please? I thought reinstall windows, but I can't reach the recovery: whose touch is?

I m looking forward getting help.

    My best,

    Mel.

    Hey,.

I think that something goes wrong when installing recovery and thus you get a blue screen and can t install the WLAN software. The best option would be to run the recovery process.

But why you can't reach t recovery more? I mean you can use HARD drive recovery as often as you like and you can start if you enter Windows Advanced Boot menu (press F8 before Windows starts) and choose fix my computer. Select Toshiba HDD recovery, then follow the instructions on the screen. Windows will be reinstalled with all drivers and tools.

  • Blue screen after installing pentium D 960 on windows vista

I recently bought a pentium D 960 on Ebay. It works very well for a while, then I get a blue screen Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area. My computer is a compaq presario sr2163wm. Compaq said that the processor should work. I don't think that the processor is bad because I ran it on the same machine with linux Ultimate Edition 3.0 for 3 days straight without any problems.  also had a blue screen which says something about an incorrect header? I had problems with windows stop but not the material, before I installed the processor. I just reinstalled windows with source material (the only way to really install windows with a recovery cd). One last thing, I use a Galaxy Geforce GT 520 to 810 MHz and 2048 MB of DDR3. system has 2 GB of DDR2 ram. chipset is a xpress 1100 ATI (northbridge and sb600 southbridge. 4 mb. bios RC415 latest revision 2008 5.34 (5.3 something) metagrads, Inc. of vista sp2 fully updated home base.)

The combination seems to be OK, based on the specifications of the motherboard.

You can contact HP about the problem you are having and see if any similar problem has been reported with the Pentium D 960.

    Hello

You are able to access the BIOS?
Try to access the BIOS settings by pressing the F2 key.
Then try to put the BIOS back to the settings by default as I m not confused with the F9 key.
Press F10 will record you changes

Please try this and report the results
