Hello

ORA-01223: RESETLOGS must be specified to set a new name of the database

Replace the NORESETLOGS RESETLOGS. Also, replace the ARCHIVELOG NOARCHIVELOG (you can activate archiving later).

Thank you

First of all, you did a folder on your desktop named Watched and it created a folder for each of the types you want distilled. Then settings > menu files looked in distilling you chose the subfolder in the control folder you want and change the setting as required. This should create a folder In, an output folder and a folder with the desired parameters joboptions in each subfolder. This does not work for you?

You have the latest patches applied AutoConfig and quick Clone?

Please put to update the context file target for values above and make sure that it match those of the source instance and enforced AutoConfig then.

  • 11i hot backup cloning

    Hello

firstime I did successfully cloning hotbackp

    (a) the technological set up pending target environment (perl adcfgclon.pl dbTechstack)

    (b) created controlfile
    (c) running the script to update library
    (d) set up the db (using perl adcfgclone.pl dbconfig)

After a few days, it has not applied the patches so far in production...

    I need clone database

I copied the files of database and recreated the controlfile. After that, does run adcfgclone.pl dbconfig?

If the database is created or resized, I think that there will be no problem with the create controlfile manually, because we will edit and create the controlfile and database will be open. correct me if I'm wrong...

Condition that you correct the size of files in data/tablespaces.

as you say, we have the context file, after you have created the file of control manually, if we run perl adcfgclon.pl dbTier < context="" file=""> , this step will again try to create controlfile, and we will have problems, because the database is already open...

Sorry for typo's fault, the command is 'perl adcfgclone.pl dbconfig.

Before clone on the application tier

    close the two db, application

tar ball created for the two databases, application of records/u01/E-BIZ/db, / u01/E-BIZ/apps and copied to the target VM Server

It's very well I does not mean sharing the document, just the content, lol

As I mentioned, I tried to clone an instance that was live and ' rocking', could not understand why the clone will fail, while all the prerequisites were in place (as the new virtual machine was a copy of the existing VM with direct instance)

Later, I changed the OS level for oracle user rights, changed the mode of/u01/E-BIZ to 777 and tried to run the adcfgclone once more and the whole process went smoothly.

In any case, the case I would say, is closed now.

    Hello community!

I have the old production server with EBS 12.1.3. Apps and db levels on the same server.

Have us shiny new IBM servers + disk storage and want to migrate from old to new servers with split apps and db levels.

    I have several questions:

    (1) it is OEL5.8 on the old server. What happens if I run the clone before on it and move it to the new server with OEL6.4. Am I having trouble with post-clonning?

    (2) what is the proper way to split levels between the two servers?

    Please notify.

You should not face any problems with the new operating system, as long as you meet all the pre-reqs

  • Apex integration with ebs 11i Cookie issue

    Hi all
I've done integration (11i) EBiz with Apex. To do this, I followed the white paper by Rod West i.e. apex-ebs-wp-cabot-consulting-169064.pdf
It was working fine. but once I got past the deadline as 3 (previously 60 sec) in the validate_hash function, it starts giving problem.
The main problem is the only error in the first, when we try to identify of Ebiz. If I try again once or twice he started to work very well. I have no idea on whats going on.
Please help as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ananya

    Hello

The generate_hash and validate_hash functions are used to generate a secondary password for the user of the EBS to connect at the Apex. To make sure there is a timeout built into the function so that the password cannot be reused. The first time that apex is used there is some overhead in loading the tables, packages etc. in memory and so time between production and the use of the password is longer than normal. That's why you get a timeout when you first try to connect to the EBS. Set the timeout high so that there is no time-out or save the password in a package variable so that it is available for the duration of the session.

  • Issue of cloning and oraInventory RAC.

    Hi all

This instance RAC DEV (2nodes) was the clone of a production CAR PROD (node1 hostname 2nodes = PROD1 node2 = PROD2) while applying hotfix using opatch for my CAR (DEV), at the end of the installation of node1, it showed 2 nodes PROD1 and PROD2 in this cluster group and asks me to confirm before she pushes for these 2 nodes remotely. But these 2 node PROD1 and PROD2 were not in the cluster group. It should show the node 2 (DEV2). I don't know why PROD1 and PROD2 were in this DEV1, it's because when cloning RAC procedure is to copy on the new clone this RAC ORACLE_HOME.
Please tell us how to clean up this problem.
    Thanks in advance.

    Tom,

What is the version of the application?

Please check the value of the nodes the and remote in oraclehomeproperties.xml and inventory.xml files.

In addition, make sure you have an own oraInventory to the cloned instance (see Note: 834894.1 and 295185.1).

  • After cloning question: I cloned my hard drive storage to a bigger successfully, but now how I reconnect the old hdd?

I want to reformat the old hdd but I fear now reconnect as my cpu works fine.  I don't want to confuse Windows by the connected disk mirror.  I searched through the forums and can't find anything in this regard. I continue to find issues with cloning, which I don't have and I don't want to create everything by making a simple mistake by being impatient and do not ask for help first.

Here's where I am. I have a 120 GB SSD SanDisk with my OS (8 64-bit Windows) and now a HGST 7200 RPM 4 TB HDD 6 GB/s 64 mb cache (the successful clone!) disk storage of data, games, photos, videos, etc.. The HGST replaces what I want the reconnection that is my old Samsung 1 TB 7200 RPM 32 MB cache as an internal backup storage drive but I don't know if it Plug and boot in windows are correct and I can just reformat from there, or if there is something I do with Acronis (software used for cloning) via cd , or if I have to go into bios before reconnecting and do a few manual adjustments it first (if any what should I do?), or any other possibility, I just didn't think. Any comments would be much appreciated!

I think maybe is there a way to connect it to my laptop first, then reformat. that would work of course but there must be a simpler solution and I don't want to be impatient, just try to reconnect to the motherboard via sata and discover I have created a problem to have two readers E suddenly or some other "witch hunt" question post cloning.

To summarize: I have already cloned successfully, do not look NOT of advice on that. I worry just reconnect my old drive and which "traps", I can avoid this case and how!

    Thank you

    Hello

If the player does not have a top OS, just hang up... should be no problem.

Even if the drive has the same name, no problem, because windows will just assign a different drive letter. It can replace the 4 to to something else or it could change the 1 to letter...

Not much. Once your kicked in windows, you can go to disk management and assign any drive you want for both drives letters... Right-click on COMPUTER and select MANAGE

Or... just delete the partitions and reformat it, especially since you saved...

Acronis image will do this I think. I'm sure you could use their Disk Director.

I use both, but I don't remember with certainty if image will be Format\Delete...

There are free bootable programs who will do well. Like EASEUS, Aomei and Parted Magic...

You can either format in advance, or start in windows, do a right click on COMPUTER and select MANAGE, disk management. At this stage you will be responsible to initialize the disk

(select MBR or GPT), and then will come the screen for formatting

  • LaserJet Pro 400 M451dn: Problems copying documents from the printer scanner

I use a Mark II of Canon Canoscan 9000F scanner to scan documents and copy them into the HP LaserJet Pro 400 451dn color laser printer.  I use the 'Copy' button on the front of the scanner function.  When a color or photo document is scanned this way the red and blue colors are reversed when it comes to the printer off.

Both the scanner and the printer work perfectly in all other situations.

Somehow the red and blue colors are to be swapped when a document goes to the scanner to the printer.

I called the Support Canon technique and they told me that they have never heard of this problem and have never had it reported before.  When you use the "Copy" button function there is no setting that can be done. The scanner copy what he sees.

So why the red and blue are exchanged on the printer?

    Teknishun

What happens if you scan the document itself to the computer and then print the scanned copy? If it is ok, then the question must be the scanner software which sends the document to the printer and has nothing to do with the printer. Sorry, but it's a hot issue.

  • Pavilion s5229uk VG238AA #ABU: System Recovery

I replaced the HDD with a SSD Crucial.  I'm trying to recover from sytem with the disks 'System Recovery' four HP I bought in 2011 when my first HARD drive died.  The system seems to load OK software from disks, but it does not install Windows.  After removing the final drive and clicking then he goes to the blue screen of HP boot but nothing happens.  I left it overnight.  I removed the SSD drive and looked at what is on the disk by using disk management.  There are two unallocated partitions and two drives E: and F: with the downloaded software, which is divided between them.

Potential problems cloning a HARD drive on an SSD is that it can be recognized as a HARD drive and miss out on important features like TRIM and became sensitive to defragmentation that could degrade the life expectancy of the reader. That most other potential driver and compatibility problems and issues make cloning a risky operation. This does not mean that it is impossible or you will get these errors for sure, but you should proceed with caution.

  • The upgrade with an SSD

I plan on migration to an SSD soon. After the upgrade SSD will appear as drive E:? If so, how can I change the C: drive SSD? I use a computer house built, based on the motherboard ASUS P5K - E. The processor is Intel E8400 3.0 GHz. I have 2 GB of RAM. Please ask me for more details if you need it. Thank you!

If I understand you correctly, you want to change your system so that the first disc (the one where Windows is installed, as well as all your programs) is a new SSD.

Assuming that the new SSD is at least as large as your current system (c) partition and assuming that there are no other partitions on your current hard drive more (I assume that your current D: is a CD or DVD drive) the right way to achieve your goal would be to do the following:

    • Clone the current C: drive on the SSD drive (preferably, but not necessarily, in an external USB enclosure)
    • Turn off computer
    • Remove the existing computer C: drive
    • Physically install the SSD to the computer (for example, out of the outer shell)
    • Turn on the computer and restart
    • At this point, you can stop (a) or (b) install the old hard drive as a second internal drive or (c) put the old hard drive in the external box.  For one of the last two options, you can use the old hard drive for backup.  I would hold off the coast on the restructuring of the old hard drive for at least a few weeks until you are sure that all cloned correctly.

If you are not using an external enclosure during the cloning operation (for example, you install the SSD as a secondary internal drive), you MUST shut down the computer WITHOUT REBOOTING and remove the original hard disk before rebooting.  (See, however, notes Anna me at the end of this response.)

If you want to have the two former players and new internally, be sure to log in using the appropriate connector and set the jumpers to ensure that the SSD is considered to be the main or the "master" drive

If you have a Western Digital hard drive, you can get a version of Acronis True Image free of WD (http://support.wdc.com/product/downloaddetail.asp?swid=119) or you can get the software of cloning separately (this is not an exhaustive list and in no particular order, some are free, some not):

Although some details have changed with the new versions of the software, it is always interesting to read:

is the HARD disk that will be the recipient of the cloned content of the
source disc or the recipient of the disk image that you create.

When you use both methods, it is usually best for most users to use a
drive external HARD as the disk of destination, i.e. the recipient of the cloned
content of the source diskette or the recipient of the disk image created. This

can be either a USB or Firewire cable or external SATA HARD drive. While the other internal
HARD drive can also serve as the destination disk, that there is an additional element
safety in the use of an external HARD drive because this player will normally be
disconnected the system except for the cloning disk or recovery
    process.

Here are the step by step instructions for
by using the Acronis True Image 9 program to clone the content of a HARD disk to
external HARD disk. (The steps are essentially the same using the latest ATI 10)
    (version):

    1. with two hard drives (source & destination disks) connected, start.
Ensure that no other storage device, for example, flash drives, ZIP drives, etc.,.
are connected. It is also probably a good idea to close all programs, you
may have to work in the shadow - including any antivirus antispyware
programs - before this disk-to-disk cloning operation.

    2. access to the Acronis True Image 9 program, under "Pick a task", click
on 'Clone disk '. (In version 10 of ATI, click "manage hard disks" in the)
"Choose a tool" box, and on the next screen click 'Clone disk').

    3. in the next window "Welcome to the Disk Clone Wizard!", click Next.

    4. in the next window of the "Clone" Mode to select the automatic option (it should
be the default option selected) and click Next.

    5. on the next window of 'hard drive' Source, ensure that good source
HDD (disk you duplicate of) was selected (highlight).
    Click Next.

    6. on the next window of 'hard disk of Destination', ensure that good
destination of HDD (disk you duplicate to) has been selected (even once, click
    to highlight). Click Next.

    7. in the next window, select the option "delete partitions on the.
destination hard disk. Understand that all data currently on the disk which
will be that the recipient of the clone will be removed before the disk cloning
    operation. Click Next.

    8. the next window will reflect the disc source and destination. Once again
confirm that the correct commands have been selected. Click Next.

    9. on the next window, click on the button continue. A message box appears
which indicates that a restart will be required to undertake the drive cloning
    operation. Click on restart.

    10. the cloning operation will pronounce on reboot. With modern
components and a medium to high power processor, data transfer rate will
be in the range of approximately 450 MB/min at 800 MB/min during cloning to
an external USB HARD disk. much faster when cloning to another internal
    HARD DRIVE.

    11. when the cloning operation has been completed, a message
indicating the disk cloning process was a success, and ask you to
Shut down the computer by pressing any key. Do it and unplug your USB
    external HARD disk.

If, however, the destination drive was another * internal * HARD drive, see the
    NOTE below.

12 note that cloned content now residing on the external USB HARD drive take
on the file system of the source drive. For example, if before the
disk cloning operation your USB external HDD was formatted FAT32 and
your XP operating system has been formatted to NTFS, the cloned content will be formatted in NTFS.
There is no need to format the USB external HARD disk before the disk cloning
operation. Similarly, it is not necessary before the operation of disk cloning
to format a drive HARD internal if use you a drive HARD internal as the
    destination drive.

    13. the system restore can be performed by cloning the content of the
data from the external DRIVE for a normal HARD internal disk drive
process of cloning such drive as described above.

NOTE: Just another point which should be emphasized with regard the
the recipient of the clone disk cloning operation would be an another intern
HARD drive and not a USB cable or Firewire external HARD disk. Immediately after the disk
cloning of the machine must be decommissioned and the source that HARD drive should
be disconnected. Boot ONLY on newly cloned drive. CAN I NOT BOOT
IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE OPERATION OF CLONING WITH TWO CONNECTED DRIVES.
It is quite possible that in doing so, it is likely to cause future
starting with the cloned disk problems. Of course there is no problem in this
area should be a port USB or Firewire EHD be the beneficiary of the clone since
device is not usually bootable in an XP environment.

    LEM:

As you may know not my previous posts about this issue of cloning/disk-image disk, I am rather partisan passionate about Casper 6 - disk cloning program and highly recommend this comprehensive program for most PC users as a backup tool. (I recognize that this is probably of little interest to the OP because I guess it is concerned primarily or exclusively with cloning just the content of its failure (apparently) HARD drive to a newer HARD disk. And it seems that it may have other problems as well!)

The reason for this post is in my "NOTE" (quoted above) caveat regarding the sea program. I wanted to mention that one of the main reasons we prefer program Casper to other disk cloning programs (for example, the Acronis one) is that, unlike these other programs Casper completely avoids this potential problem I did reference.

During the two years since we started working with the Casper drive cloning program we had done (or were involved with) hundreds of disk cloning operations, involving a wide variety of PC brands/models, hard disks (both PATA & SATA), etc. During this time, we have never met a * single * instance of the problem raised. IE a user could clone the contents of his HARD 'source' to another disc * internal * HARD drive and would not (possible) later problem affecting the ability to start the (cloned) destination HARD disk even when the system was booted to the HARD drive with the cloned HARD disk connected source * immediately * after the disk cloning operation.

Under this scenario the cloned HDD would be obviously treated as a HARD secondary, a drive letter assignment drive of (obviously) other than C:. However, the source disk HARD later disconnect so that would imply the boot * only * the newly cloned HARD drive, this drive would start without incident and be granted the 'normal' C: drive letter assignment.

In addition, two hard drives must be connected in the system and the user changes the BIOS boot priority setting to accommodate a first start at the cloned disk as HDD will start without incident. And, of course, the ancient source THAT HDD would be then treated by the system as a secondary as HDD should in these circumstances.

And if the user decides to start at the disk of origin at a later time (for some reason any), the boot of this player would normally occur.

I thought that the information above might be interesting for you & others.
