13.02 update changes smart object / icc profile of behavior of the assignment?

Since the update to version photoshop CS6 extended 13.02, I noticed the implemented behavior to the next day:

When you change the assigned profile to an image that contains dynamic objects, where smart objects have been via a conversion of color - dynamic objects profile will get converted to the newly assigned profile.

It was certainly not the behavior of previous versions and 13.01.

Is this an intentional change?  If we shouldn't it be noted in the release notes?

Information system: mac os x 10.6.8

The previous behavior was clearly a bug.  The new behavior fixes most of the problems (there was a case we have missed and have since fixed).

The result is something much more coherent.

Yes, always incorporate profiles solves all the problems of color...

  • How is changing Smart Objects function?

I resized one of my smart objects (which already isolated action at this particular file) but found that the same dynamic object in other files have also been affected. Change something? How all untie them? They are the same smart object that I placed in different files in different sizes.

It sounds like you using a linked smart object, old version of Photoshop only had the embedded objects.  You menu file > Place new version of Photoshop's file menu > Place incorporated and file menu > related site

  • the a linked smart object bounding box is larger than the file

I met an annoying problem, in which the framework encompassing the linked file is bigger than its content while in scaling

Someone knows how to fix this?

    Screenshot Example < < -.

It's a work plan, "Plan Working Group...". ", I studied this a little further, it seems that the plans of work and paintings are not 'limit' content in the same way (by limiting the work area). even if you have a work plan, it will include the default spacing between work under the file plans.

Now, it's a bug or a feature, probably a bug, because the idea was that put a file will place all work plans in it (including spacing), but when you have a work plan you don't need spacing.  My hypothesis is that some developers attached Adobe spacing of the artboard in the wrong point of the chain, causing spacing to be always present, even for a work plan.

  • Why my smart objects lose shape when it is changed?

    DSP 10 - windows.

I have a project that contains objects communicating shaped like a magazine, so that the pages are forms bizarre models.

When I click on a smart object and modify the content and open and then save again, the original object loses its unique shape and ends simply by the place.

Normally I would merge the smart object open, but tried to leave in layers and various other options, but every time I have save the smart object updated (even if I just change the color of the smart object) when I have the resave, it loses shape magazine page.

Normally, I would say that this problem is in the file, but I have had this experience on more than a sham.

Dynamic objects appear as they should be relatively easy, what don't get me?

    klipKG_001.jpg

This is the original file... you can see the dynamic object from the point of view

    klipKG_004.jpg

so I open the smart object, paste in my art, flatten and save.  (I also tried do not flatten)

    klipKG_005.jpg

in any case, when I save the smart object I lose shape and just get a result of squares.  UGGG.

    What Miss me?

Recently, I gave a moment to complain on the forums of non-functioning and I did a few years ago, vowed not to come until they are fixed. But the person with a good heart in me can't let somebody question remain unanswered. (I used as one of the posters who have contributed regularly here. Consider this a small dose of expertise, the forums are missing on ignoring the pleas of users like me who made them useful and functional compared to management that makes them unwieldy and simply not work!)

The reason why your smart objects lose their point of view is because they were created in a later version of Photoshop with a change of perspective that is not supported in earlier versions. (Your CS3, for example) To make it backward compatible and editable in your version, the person who uses the latest version of CS must simulate the perspective transformation with the functions of 'chain', then you will be able to update your smart objects with no problems.

  • Why not transform the work? I'm doing a simple resize a smart object, and I constantly have problems. do not transformation. I had this same problem on several images and I've just updated to the latest

I had frequent problems trying to resize the smart objects - I am unable to use the transformation. I had this problem on several images. I had some success by restarting Photoshop CC and Windows, but this does not always solve the problem. Is this a known issue? It's really annoying. I had this problem before the last update, and it continued after the most recent update.

    Hi djdphotography

    • You also have the same result if you create a layer duplicate the layer of the same image?
    • Also be sure that you do not have the Quick Mask mode by mistake (press Q to turn it off before you select the transform tool)

  • Display Dell Feature Request Manager: ability to associate an ICC profile preset and automatically switch

I have a Dell U3014 and I love this monitor. I also like the display Manager software that allows me to quickly change the presets to monitor without messing around with the OSD or completely automatic based on the application that I use. The problem: many people, including that using end monitors need to render accurate colors and for this reason they calibrate/profile their monitors. Each preset needs that we present independently and has an associated ICC profile. Especially in windows, it is necessary to use an sRGB preset based for color unmanaged applications, while a wide range of predefined such as Adobe RGB is used on applications such as photoshop color management, lightroom etc. Manager display Dell offer a quick and elegant solution for the preselections, either by selecting a quick menu, either by automatically associating a preset for a given application (i.e. photoshop is enabled, go to Adobe RGB). It works very well, however the selection of the appropriate profile must be done manually and it's quite tedious (open the resolution of the screen change applet, click Advanced setting, open the color management applet, select the appropriate monitor and finally load the profile ICC proper). It's a lot of time and pain that could be completely and painlessly by DDM the automated solution: a small improvement to DDM may be in the form of a tab in color management, where an existing ICC profile may be associated with a given preset. If a preset has an associated ICC profile, DDM will load the appropriate corresponding ICC profile when it switches preset. Windows has API to load ICC profiles that are easy to use. I even tried to write my own software. Switching profiles is not complicated. What is difficult is to SDC/DI allows you to change the presets on the monitor. There is no free library to do that I could find. The company that makes this software to display for Dell Manager, EnTech sells libraries which SDC/DI but are more expensive that I can afford. I think to add such a device to DDM, would be an effort across very minor EnTech part, but the benefits for users would be great. If such a device would be helpful for you, or if you have any other suggestions please post them here. I hope that if there is an important need for it, Dell can ask EnTech to incorporate it into a future version of the MDD. Thank you.

Thank you very much. It worked! Now, on the display manager, I have a small ICM button where I can link a CIM profile in a "Preset". It works beautifully. As a suggestion, it would be nicer to display in the ICM selection menu the name of the profile from its metadata rather than the file name of the profile itself as many profiling rather than application of the colour profile human-readable name in metadata and use a hex hash to force the user to open the applet from color correction to match the name of the file which is which. Also, the list is completed by the name of old profiles that have already been deleted. Whence the list?  These files are not in my windows/system32/spool/pilot/color directory more, are in the registry and also do not appear in the applet of color correction.

Would be very happy to beta-test report and new updates.

Thanks again for adding this feature. It is very useful

  • RE: Camera Raw and smart objects

    Hello everyone.

    I have a question please.

Inside of the 8.1 camera raw workflow options, I checked the box to open in Photoshop as smart objects.

I noticed inside the Camera Raw, open the Image box to turn to, the open object box.  I clicked open, and he opened the Image as objects inside Photoshop the Smart.

If I make changes to the Image, and if I Double click on the smart object, it will open in Camera Raw again which is good.

I also noticed that if I make changes to the Image inside the Raw to the dynamic object camera after clicking Open Smart Objects I see the changes inside the Photoshop too.

But if I make the changes to the Image inside the Photoshop, and later I Double click on the Image, the Image opens inside the Camera Raw, without modification.

Here's my question: still The Smart object Image is a Raw Image?

    My next question is:

I don't know if I open a Raw Image Inside the Camera Raw and if I click on fact, the image is always a Raw Image, which is good, and if I click on Reset low, will reset back. If I change only the White Balance and click on go back the Camera Raw and I chose as shot, the Image goes back to the Original Raw file.

But if I do other changes such as exposure, any color change and click on I did can never return to the original...

Last month I was in collaboration with the Lightroom and I noticed if I open a raw image inside the Lightroom and modifications to make the Image, any time I can click on reset and the Raw image dates back to its origin.

I don't think that we can do this with Camera Raw can us?

Claire removes the settings in camera raw completely. You will not see the setting on the thumbnail icon in Bridge

By default Camera Raw will display the icon and double click on the thumbnail will always open in Camera Raw with the default settings.  The default value is "As Shot", that's why you see no difference. It is when you select a default Custom you want. He will stay with the Camera Raw file.

See this article by Julienne Kost.

    http://blogs.Adobe.com/jkost/2009/10/setting_new_camera_raw_default.html

Another difference is with JPEGs. Open a JPEG in ACR, making an adjustment, click 'done '.  Select 'Default Camera Raw' and it will always open in ACR instead of Photoshop.  Select 'Clear' and it's a normal jpeg which is still open in Photoshop.

Basically it's all I know, I normally don't use ACR much.

  • Illustrator CS4 smart objects?

    Hello
I'm creating a vector illustration of an ipad or similar. I want to be able to retain the scale vector and have the ability to change the image of the screen of the ipad to a different image. The layer of the screen image is currently using a mask to define the area of the screen and there are a couple of top containg light layers that overlay the screen image.

I tried to select the current image and 'place' a new image, but I just get a new layer with an image caught on top of the previous image.

Can someone suggest a simple method to add the new image to the screen. The final file will be provided to people with even more limited knowledge of illustrator than me.

I also tried to export the image in photoshop and then transform the image screen in a smart object layer. Then clicking on the smart object to open the layer, drag and drop the new image on the smart object open and then saving it. This method replaces the image, but when I tested the scalability of the last image in photoshop by changing the size of the image to 10% and then back to the original size image has fuzzy edges. Maybe because some live effects in illustrator (e.g. blur, inner glow) are not not vector in Photoshop?

Thanks for any help you can provide

Thanks, so obvious. I was trying to over complicate things as usual.

  • How to open and copy the smart object

    Hello

I read some topics on smart objects, but I have not found a solution to my problem.

    1. I need open the smart object layer

2 copy all the layers of the smart object to another file

    Thank you

Let's say you have two open documents. The first open doc is the one you want to fool the layer to the second doc is active and the layer you want to dupe is the activeLayer.

    app.activeDocument.activeLayer.duplicate(app.documents[0]);

Of course, you can change the document references and layer as needed. However the layer not fool must be in the activeDocument.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro... Distiller / ICC profile problem

I have loaded Acrobat 9 Pro 3 times and continue to get following error message every time I reboot computer: "Distiller cannot find your ICC profiles.  Please reinstall the software. "Acrobat opens ok but not print or perfom will perform redirection of email as an attachment. Distiller is won't boot.

Someone at - it a solution?

Adobe technical support has been more helpful on that.  Start by downloading the update

    Distiller ICC profile files to:

    3790 http://www.Adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=4075&FILEID=

Unzip the file and copy only the files *.icc (without taking into account the subfolders they are-in other words, take the files out of each of the subfolders) in the folder in Windows 7:

    c:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color

These new files will cover probably some old ones.

This solves the problem for me.

    ---------------------------------------------------------

It is actually the best solution I found that instead of copy all files for the windows\sys... .icc folder, all you have to do is copy the 3 files of the folder (VideoHD.icc, VideoNTSC.icc and VideoPAL.icc) RGB video.  Once you add these three files to c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color, you will be ready to go.

It seems that it was a mistake on the part of Adobe, there is no reason to include video files for printing.  Nevertheless, the Distiller will search these and return the error of ICC profile, if these files are not present.

  • Camera Raw / smart object?

    Using CS3
    Scenario:
I turned 500 marriage images, sorted and retouched in bridge. Now, I'll look at each one in camera raw (at bridge) and make the necessary adjustments. I use CR and adjust / synchronize files similar whenever possible; zipping through the 500 images quickly and save without opening, then use the image processor to process all 500 images while I'm SLEEPING.
    Question:
Is there a way to Turkey / process 500 images and have saved later when I open them, they open as smart objects. Now if necessary I can take the dynamic object, go back in camera raw and make changes / improvements.
In Czech Republic, I know, I can check the box "open as a smart object", but that only seems to apply if I immediately open the file (or files), and then save them. It is not practical or feasible for select 500 files, open and save at the same time. If I save the Raw files to open later, (as in my workflow above) then it will not open as a smart object.
I checked on the Adobe Exchange website, but did not find any scripts or actions that would facilitate.
Anyone know if what I'm trying to do is possible and how?
    Thank you
    JeffN

A quick fix would be to change the Image Processor script. If you add the line

    desc.putBoolean (stringIDToTypeID ('smartObject'), true);

just before the line on 1546

    var returnDesc = executeAction (charIDToTypeID ('Opn'), desc, inDialogMode);

TIFF and PSD files will be saved with the raw as a smart object layer file. Of course JPEG files will be always saved as usual.

  • CS5 is the opening of the raw files as smart object files im working

I just new branch CS 5 and find this big mistake. When I open the raw file in Camera Raw and I opened a jpg in CS5, it always open as a dynamic object to this small jpg I opened before. The same is my CS 5 when I drag a file on the desktop, it has always finished as long as a smart object to the file im is currently working with. Normally it should open a new file, not as a smart object in this file im working already with.

If you do not want to open images as smart objects when you drag them in Photoshop then go in Edition-> Preferences-> general and uncheck the box 'Place or drag Raster Images as smart objects'. As for Camera Raw, the button open so-called in the Camera Raw dialog box? Open a picture or an open object? You can switch between the two on the fly by pressing the SHIFT key, or you can change the preference among the workflow Options (click on the link button - like from the bottom of the Camera Raw dialog box)

  • download ICC profiles... problems zip files

Try to download Iflord photo paper profile... when I go to the reel-er takes me to the internet with a commentary on basis that these files are corrupt?

    Hello

    1. What is the exact error you get when you download ICC profiles?

    2. the problem persists only when downloading ICC profiles?

In color management, an ICC profile is a set of data that characterizes a color input or device output or a color space, according to standards promulgated by the International Color Consortium (ICC). Profiles describe the attributes of the color of a particular device or looking at a requirement by defining a mapping between the source of the device or target color space and a profile connection space (PCS).

Each device that captures or displays the color can be profiled. Some manufacturers provide profiles for their products, and there are several products that allow an end-user to generate its own color profiles, usually by the use of a colorimeteror of tristimulus preference a spectrophotometer.

    Good day!

  • U2413, Confused about ICC profiles and sRGB/ARGB modes

    Hello

I have a question for the calibrated modes (sRGB/ARGB) of U2413.
-I guess that there's no ICC profiles are delivered with the driver for these because they are focused on the LUT calibrations?
-However, when the driver is installed, it installs the native ICC profile. This profile still apply in the calibrated LUT modes? I guess it shouldn't because it is for native mode only, but is it? Or I'll remove it?

    Thank you.

The sRGB and AdobeRGB modes use hardware for calibration LUT in the monitor. If you use these modes you must set at least the standard sRGB or AdobeRGB ICC profiles in your operating system to correctly define color space, in which you are working.

You could actually make calibrations of LUT of additional software stored in a custom ICC profile, and they would act on top of equipment calibration LUT in the monitor.

The 'DELL U2413, D6500 color profile' native ICC profile defines the color space of the monitor, which is actually a bit larger than AdobeRGB in certain colors. Do not use it if you set the monitor the sRGB or AdobeRGB modes. According to me, the native ICC profile corresponds to the color space used in preset 'Standard' of the monitor, but there is not LUT stored in the ICC profile to calibrate the colors accurately.
