I'm guessing that you have reinstalled Windows from a DVD, right?

Your PC came with a version of HP OEM of Windows preinstalled, and it is the only version guaranteed to work on this unit.

You should consider reinstalling using HP recovery media to operate again.  It's a set of DVD and a CD that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

Note that if HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

Don't forget to read through the material in the linked thread before attempting the recovery: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00707939

    Good luck

  • Black screen with cursor when connecting Windows 7. Reinstall the drivers doesn't help not.

I have a Windows 7 Pro machine that boots to a black screen with a cursor instead of the login prompt, but if I press some keys like enter and tab that I will get a few blue squares where probably windows are appearing.

I can boot into safe mode and log in. I can then disable or uninstall the video card and the boot into normal windows. But if I install the Intel to the HD3000 integrated video drivers, the black screen will be there waiting for me when I reboot.

I tried with and without external monitors connected.

I tried to uninstall the drivers in the menu programs and features (also selection to completely remove the drivers), and I uninstalled them through Device Manager. I then reboot before installing the Intel drivers again. I tried the version on the site Web of Panasonic, as well as the latest version of the Intel Web site. Results have been the same every time.

Are there left behind somewhere that I could try to remove registry keys? Perhaps a more thorough removal method? Something more creative? All ideas welcome!

This system has been restored to a standard corporate image, unfortunately is no longer near factory that she'll get. System Restore will not be an option because he has never been in a working state. Startup Repair was not an option due to disk full corporate encryption that seems to make the unreadable disk at this time here. I tried but it fails and I can't find the drivers to be used in the environment of recovery for this BeCrypt Disk Encryption.

    Hi Brian,.

According to the information that you, as you can start your computer in safe mode without problem, then the problem is probably with the supplied driver. Since the installation of the driver is causing the problem to occur, one possible cause is a driver you want to install is not compatible with the system. We suggest that you contact the manufacturer of your computer for help on installing the correct driver for your PC.

    Kind regards.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

    • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

You will need to close and restart Firefox after enabling/disabling this setting.

  • Firefox has upgraded to version 33 and does not work at all. I open the browser and get a black screen and a dialog box titled "authorization required".

  • New GPU producing Black Screen

Hello. I recently installed a GTX960 in my system to upgrade my very old ATI Radeon HD 5770. I've used Windows via bootcamp for a few months without any problems. However, recently, one of my hard drives become 'dirty' and the internet I was informed to use the OS x disk management tool I have tried many other things before you decide to start up in mac, but nothing worked. So I decided to start in mac (for the first time since I had installed the gpu) However, this produces a black screen that brings me to where I'm stuck now.

I tried to go to recovery mode, but it gives the same result.

With a little research I have found that my CPU does not have graphics integrated so it relies on a graphics card to work.

(If that helps...) My computer is a mac to mid-2010 pro with:

    • Two 2.4 GHz Quad-Core 'Gulftown' Intel Xeon(E5620) processors with 12 MB of L3 cache
    • 32 GB of 1333 MHz DDR3 SDRAM ECC

It's a bit urgent as I need this computer for school work.

To use a GTX960, you must install drivers and since it's not Mac-Flash card you will not get a splash screen, and so you cannot use the special startups as the recovery mode, Option and other whey to see the screen.

The following links of the lists for Nvidia Mac drivers

    http://forums.MacRumors.com/threads/frequently-asked-questions-about-NVIDIA-PC-n on-efi-graphics - cards.1440150.

You need to reinstall your 5770 card and then install the drivers for Mac. You may have to reinstall OS x. Then reinstall windows via Boot Camp.

I don't really know what you mean by "However, recently, one of my hard drives become 'dirty' and the internet told me to use the OS x disk management tool."

If you Windows disk tools disk to boot camp, you can destroy the OSX install.

  • Black screen when you try to start PowerPC G3 beige

I have a vintage tour 1997 beige PowerPC with OS 9 (don't know which version, I think that the last of them he would go - 9.2.2?).  It has been sitting in the corner, turned off but plugged in for years (on a UPS protected against overvoltages with newer computer).  It was probably 2-3 years since the last power successful upward to retrieve something from him.  I am wanting to get data out of an old program on it, but can't get any view of it, just a black screen.

Here's what I know about the material:

    Label says PowerPC G3 233 MHz, 512 K Cache, 32 MB / 4 G HD/24 x CD / 56K Modem, 17/02/98

The memory may have been renovated years ago, there are 3 SIMMS inside.

I use the video port built, with an adapter for the Apple Display Connector to VGA adapter which worked very well all the years I've used the computer.

When I turn on, it is what is happening:

    I get the normal "chime".

The monitor it is connected to the wake mode 'sleep'

The display goes completely black - (no happy Mac, sad Mac or any Mac or gray screen)

The monitor will never return "standby mode" until I have shut down the Mac (at least for 10-15 minutes I leave at the same time).  This makes me think that the port video is send something to the screen.

    • Here's what I've tried so far:
    • Tried 2 different monitors and cables, which has occurred on other computers (relatively modern flat screen LCD)
    • Replace the onboard battery
    • Zap the P - RAM
    • Reset the NVRAM by starting command-option-O-f and strike blindly
      • Reset-nvram (press enter/return)
      • Reset-all (News-enter/return) - at what point he restarted then assume that it took orders
    • Started with the space bar to see if the extensions manager would come to the top
    • Sitting SIMM memory (I remember when a memory SIMM went wrong after years, I'm a his 'breaking glass' at the start so I think the memory is OK?)

The only things I can think to try are changing the ADC to VGA and put in a PCI video card.  Wikipedia lists a couple that were popular with this vintage Mac: ATI Radeon 7000 and 9200.  These will work without having to install drivers? It seems that http://www.amazon.com/ATI-Technologies-Radeon-7000-Graphics/dp/B0000630TB can be had pretty cheap, I don't know about the drivers.

I have not tried booting from a cΘdΘrom, especially because I was not able to locate them.  I could watch more difficult if it is reasonable to expect a different result, but that seems to be a more fundamental question.  If there are any people with ideas vintage Mac, it would be greatly appreciated!

The Amazon link you posted is for the PC of ATI Radeon 7000 version.  You need the Mac or PC version which took his chip EEPROM reprogramming with the Mac code.  Fifteen years ago, I bought eight of the sale to the retail-boxing, PC version Radeon 7000 s and flashed the ROM, for use in my beige G3s.  It took OS 9.2.2 support the latest drivers that allowed a 2D acceleration.  The Radeon 9200 Mac Edition is the final PCI graphics card that they marketed for Macs and would cost more and be more graphics card that you need, just to retrieve files from the G3.  You may be able to find a cheap, compatible Mac Radeon 7000 on ebay.  In fact, the older (Mac compatible) ATI Rage 128 PCI graphics of a B & W G3 (shown here) would be well suited to your needs.  When you zapped the PRAM, how many times have you let it go through the reboot cycle, while now pressed the keys "command + Option + P + R?  I usually gave it three.  You could try to remove the sound card 'personality' clean oxidation on the pins plated gold with a soft, white gum and reinstall.  This would be the case for modules of memory DIMMS and ROM card, which can also become oxidized over time.  If the Mac to VGA DB-15 you have a set of microswitches adjustable, the parameters of the (resolution) may be different for newer LCDs you've tried, especially if they have an image format widescreen.  "You can also consult the"failures of start-up list' on this page speed up your Mac G3 box. " "There was a problem with the first batch of voltage regulators used in the beige G3s, but I think they were passed to the VRM Raytheon in February 1998.  If "Raytheon" is printed on your VRM, you can probably exclude the problem.

    What happens then?
Problems after installing the operating system recovery disc?

    > When it installs drivers crashing into the graphics driver
You n t need to install all the drivers after installing the recovery disc. The recovery disk installs OS Win and also drivers needed!

    > I downloaded 197.16, 197.71, 258.80 drivers Nvidia and laptopvideo2go, but when I try to install these versions, it does not compotible with my control panel.

If you want to install non-Toshiba drivers, you will have to do it in the Device Manager.
You must use the Advanced installation procedure and have point to the driver files (ini files) that you have downloaded and stored on the HARD drive.
You have simply force windows to select this driver.

  • A60: dvd shows black screen through digital projector

    Hello.

Our school has purchased a large number of laptops A60, that teachers plan to use in conjunction with our digital projectors Sanyo. However it was discovered that, while the office and DVD controls, display etc. on the whiteboard with success, the real DVD appears simply as a black screen. We have updated graphics drivers, you press fn & f5, etc, but can't find any way to get the images to show through the projector. We have no problem with other laptops to school.

Help much appreciated on an urgent basis.

    Thank you.

    Hello

If I understand right you want to start the movie on DVD and watch it using the projector. Am I wrong?

I guess you use preinstalled DVD player, called WinDVD. If Yes please try starting your laptop, change the external device (projector) using the FN + F5 key combination. If this happens successfully, then you should try to start the WinDVD player. If you want to change the display using FN keys, while the DVD player works it is possible that there is not any screen success only in black.

    Hello

    I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A210 - 14 d models that display a black screen.
I tried to boot the device with a memory inserted in the slot and repeat this with two modules in each location but nothing happens!

I clear cmos, and after you press the button "power" for 30 sec but nothing and nothing and nothing...
I could not find ROM BIOS of the laptop, is it possible for you that put here because the site Web of Toshiba BIOS do not support previous models of the A300.
And the other question is: is it possible that the graphics chip could be the problem?

The BIOS and drivers for older models of laptops are in the area to carry out the download page for the driver (in the product Type click Archive).
But to be honest, that I think that something is wrong with the BIOS EPROM module.
Firstly the laptop must turns on and works properly even if the BIOS isn't up-to-date. In addition, the EPROM module cannot be corrupted in case you do not flash this module using BIOS incorrect or is not compatible.

In my opinion, the issue may be related to any part connected to the motherboard: possible troublemakers could be RAM, CPU, GPU, as well as the motherboard.

I guess you will need extra help laptop computer technician in order to locate the hardware failure.
