15 - f010WM: III 15-f010WM SATA controller?

The Touchsmart laptop 15-f010WM there a SATA III (6 Gb/s) controller?  Thank you.

Thanks for that reference.  I had seen it, but it was misinterpreted as referring to the 500 GB and 750Go discs themselves not the laptop SATA controller.   So, it's a SATA II controller.  I understand that SATA III SSD are retro-compatible... when it is linked via a SATA II controller, however, you see much better performance on a traditional 7200 RPM drive?  I assume the benefits of no moving parts and little if any impact fragmentation - largely irrelevant with a SSD - could make valid upgrade anyway.  Thanks for the final clarification!

I'd rather than PCIe PCI for this purpose.

HP liked SIIG for a number of their SATA PCI slot cards.  SIIG has updaters for these maps on its web site, and the pilots understand place in Windows 8.  Here's what I recommend if you want to only two new SATA internal ports:

    http://h30094.www3.HP.com/product.aspx?SKU=3062195&mfg_part=SC-SAT212-S4&pagemode=CA

There is also a card HP SIIG eSATA that HP has used, and I have also used that... it worked great.  It has two eSATA ports and no port SATA internal:

    http://h30094.www3.HP.com/product.aspx?cache=2012565552&culture=en-us&SKU=2850719

In addition, you can connect a single SATA hard drive on an eSATA port (the reader would need external power supply) for formatting, etc.  For that you need a cable with eSATA on one end and a connector type SATA internal regular on others... it is so much easier than to open the box and play with the internal cables.  The best quality I've found for those who are Macgurus.com or Granitedigital.com.  Opt for a shorter (1 m) rather than a longer therefor version if you choose to do so, in order to reduce the risk of interference (which I have never seen this):

Macgurus told them are indicated for the generation SATA I, II and III, and they are a little cheaper for a length of 1 m of the granite.  Both are excellent companies.

Finally, there is a HP SIIG PCI with combined eSATA/SATA, with a player external eSATA and SATA port internal:

    http://h30094.www3.HP.com/product.aspx?SKU=2850718&mfg_part=SC-SA1012-S1&pagemode=CA

I'd stick with HP SIIG solutions and probably buy directly from HP for this unless you can find the same for much less expensive on eBay.  The cards have had several revisions, and I think that if you get your HP, you would later.

  • HP 7227sa SATA Controller

Hi, I have trouble finding which supports my laptop's SATA controller.

I checked the manual (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03591281.pdf), although it is not clear if it is SATA, SATA II and SATA III.

I really need to know I want to upgrade to an SSD.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi, Nick:

If your model is the HP ENVY dv6-7227sa notebook PC, the controller will run the drive at the speed of the sata III.

You need to look at the specifications of the Intel chipset to find this info.

    Hello

Satellite U400-183 seems to belong to the series of PCU44E. Right?
The European driver Toshiba page provides the drivers for this model.
You can find on the page of the driver for Win XP Intel Storage Manager and this package contains the SATA drivers.

But look, man here in the forum, you can find many comments about the installation of the SATA driver why you n t use the search option?

The best way to install the SATA drivers is the use of nLite.

  • Satellite L350-H20 HDD / SATA-Controller Driver

    Hello

yesterday, I tried to reinstall Windows 7 x 64 (and/or Windows 8) on my laptop. When I got to the screen where you can select the partition / drive to install the OS on, I wanted to delete all them were leaving (C: and D :) and recreate them for a bigger partition C:.)

There was also a (System?-) partion with about 100 MB, do not remember the name yet, but I deleted it, too.
I guess it was my big mistake, because then the installation has failed, and when I tried to restart, the screen where you set the partion was empty.

No disk, none of the partitions is displayed.
In the BIOS disk HARD is always displayed.

So I think that, on this partition of 100 MB mysterious were drivers for the HARD disk or the SATA controller.
    I already searched the internet, Toshiba and HP Intel support center (because the SATA controller is done by intel) but I have not found the right drivers. I found a few tools like [this one | http://www.toshiba.de/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=DE&selCategory = 2 & selFamily = 2 & selSeries = 178 & selProduct = 790 & selSho rtMod = 773 & language = 17 & selOS = 29 & selType = all & yearupl = DST & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = all Machines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = 12 & electedLanguage s = 17 & type = all & page = 3 & ID = 68573 & DISO = 2 9 & driverLanguage = 42] , but it is an application that cannot be incorporated as driver installation (can?)

So my question is: where can I find the right drivers for my HARD drive respectively the SATA controller?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

As far as I know that the Satellite L350 - 20 H belongs to the PSLD8E series.
All the drivers for this unit are on the page of the Toshiba UE driver
The same page that you posted your original message.

The Storage Manager seems to be the right package that contains the SATA driver.
But I put t think that your problem is related to the missing SATA driver.

The fact is that the HARD drive and partitions were visible before you delete the partition, and you have not added the SATA drivers.
So I guess that the HARD drive needs to be formatted before you start the installation of the OS

Guess what? Download and create a partition bootable stick usign the GParted Live free software
Then you could boot from the USB key, could start the GParted and could create new partitions. After this attempt to boot from the new drive Win 7

I have the Satellite A300D-126 (part number: PSAK4E-00X00JG3) and I want to know, what is the SATA controller installed. Is this compatible SATA2?

Thing is I want to replace it for the WD Scorpio Black (model: WD3200BJKT).
Is not this SATA2 HARD drive. Maybe anyone who has tried to install the HDD SATA2 compatible?

Currently isntalled SATA/SATA2 HARD disk compatible Hitachi HTS542525K9SA00.
Computer laptop chipset AMD M690G should support SATA2. Please help me with this problem. Thank you in advance.

    Sincerely,

    Hello

SATA2 is compatible, which means that you will be able to use HDD SATA2 (300 MB/s), even if the cell takes in charge the SATA1 (150 MB/s)

But as far as I know the laptop was equipped with the interface Serial ATA 2.5 Rev.

  • I have a 'C' IDE drive failure I have a SATA drive connected via a PCI-SATA controller card. I want to change from hard disk IDE 'C' on the SATA drive. What are the steps to achieve this?

Running Windows XP Home, I want to change hard drive as described above.

As a result, I have a USB hard drive, which I copied the hard drive of the original 'C', before it fails altogether.

Is it possible to copy this USB drive on my SATA hard drive and have as my primary hard drive?
Keeping in mind of the SATA hard drive, connected via a PCI-SATA controller card.

Unless your third sata card supports the option to boot from this map, its not going to work. Not all sata cards are bootable.

  • AMD SATA Controller driver for HP G62-a18SA (XC302EA #ABU)

    Hello

I think to buy a copy retail Windows 7 64 - bit to do a completely new install on my laptop HP G62-a18SA (XC302EA #ABU) and so am trying to gather and record the necessary drivers, I have to reinstall later.

Can someone tell me where I can download the AMD SATA controller for this laptop?  Device Manager appears in the:

    Driver provider: AMD

    Driver date: 10/07/2009

    Driver version: 1.2.0.164

It is not listed in the downloads section of driver for this laptop in particular HP support site.

AMD is different from that of Intel, a Sata driver is not required to install W7.

There are many backup programs free driver you can use to back up the existing drivers and then use this backup to reinstall it on the new facility.

It shouldn't matter what type of card you are using. Personally I use the type of legacy PCI slot, given that several of them.

As it is a workstation HP Business class, I would suggest using the HP Enterprise Business Forum. The Forum of business people are much more familiar with the company's products.

HP Envy 15-j001sr (E3Y72EA): in RAID or AHCI mode? I buy this laptop and planning to upgrade to SSD.
Upgrade advice will be highly appreciated.
What is better: to clone the HDD SSD before initial start-up
Or install Windows8 first, bring a USB recovery set, then make Windows8 recovery after the installation of the Virgin SSD in?
Thank you for your help in advance.

    Hello

It uses a single disc HARD must be the AHCI mode:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03846066

You can configure it as you want, including create whole recovery dics and THEN clone the disk SSD. After that trade them. This will save time and you can be sure that the rollback/uninstallation less pain if necessary.

  • Aurora R4: newly installed SSD running in G2 / SATA300 - how can I 'persuade' the SATA controller to run at G3 /SATA600?

Good evening.  I was a little indecisive on the place where this post, but I think it's the right place.

I just replaced the main drive in my Alienware Aurora R4 with a SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD... works perfectly (and quickly).  I realized a clean Windows 10 Pro (x 64), generation to level to the latest version.  I'm not using RAID.

The SDS is properly installed and connected in the location SATA01.

This Aurora R4 has the "Dell", well actually "Intel" Patsburg 6 Port SATA AHCI Controller (revised A7), capable of handling G3 / SATA600.  However, two DVD players work to G1 / SATA150 and all four disks are running at G2 / SATA300.

I have the latest driver for the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology, confirming a transfer rate SATA 3 Gb/s for my SSD (and the other three HARD drives).

How can I convince the computer I want to optimize my SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD performance, with the rate of transfer running at G3 / SATA600?

I searched on through the value of the library of web pages, but not found a solution.  I was hoping that it would be a BIOS problem (installed last), is a question of the SATA controller firmware, but that doesn't seem to be the case.  Technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver allows no fiddling, so I drew a blank there.

Knowledge advice would be warmly received, especially if you have a R4 Aurora that runs a G3 SSD / SATA600!

    Hi Domo_P1000,

You can search the forums to Alienware for help with this. I found this relevant thread.

  • HP 6120 t BIOS does not recognize the second IDE hard drive connected via IDE-SATA controller

    Hello

HP 6120 t (vista) BIOS does not recognize the second IDE hard drive connected via IDE-SATA controller. The other SATA disk and the DVD player came with the machine.

I hooked my old 200 GB Hitachi drive via the controller. I also put the jumbers in the present as a slave. I also took the original WD drive and just connect the IDE hard drive. BIOS do not show any drive at all.

I would try something possible at this time I have a lot of my data on the old disk.

    Thanks appreciate any suggestion.

Try to enter the BIOS and I believe under change of Advanced menu of SATA to IDE or Enhanced.

You need to do when you install Windows XP or you will get a blue screen and it does not start.

Don't forget chang back when you put it in your drive home hard sata.
