17 - g133cl: capacity of RAM Max of 17-g133cl

17-g133cl comes with 12 GB of RAM.  If I expand this in the future, I would like to know what is the maximum amount of RAM can be supported by the laptop.  Anyone know?

Why is it not this information on the technical specifications of the HP for this product?

Even though it says it's for the 17 g000 to-model g099 this is the correct service manual:

Manual

Two SODIMM slots - NOT accessible / extensible DDR3 1333 MHz Dual Channel customer (DDR3L 1600 retrograde to the DDR3-1333) DDR3L-1600-MHz Single Channel Support service supports up to 16 GB of RAM in memory of 16384 MB total system ● following conƭgurations (8192 × 2)

So when they write the datasheet they assume nobody would level memory. In fact, if you can remove the back cover to get the memory locations, pouvez replace the module 4 GB with a second module of 8 GB to have total 16 concerts. However, it puts at risk the security, but the upgrade is not as hard as on some models that require removal of the motherboard. It can be done by someone with fair to mediocre skills tech.

  • Capacity of RAM Max unofficial for x120e

Can someone confirm that using more the official 4 GB RAM max in x120e works?

    I am running WIndows 7.

    I saw a post elsewhere online 8 GB ("2 x Kingston KVR1066D3S7/4 = 8 GB DDR3 1066 MHz CL7 SODIMM") works, but there is no documentation.

    Welcome to the Forum!

This has been confirmed several times: x120e certainly supports 8 GB of RAM. As a matter of fact, a person reported same installation of 16 GB of RAM! http://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/X-series-ThinkPad-Laptops/X120e-4GB-or-8gb-Max/TD-p/413327

I'm not sure about 16 GB, but if you read the whole carefully thread you will find several confirmations of the members and moderators on this Forum than 8 GB really works without problem in x120e. When people have problems, it's because of some brands of RAM of low-end manufacturers or a problem with their system map. In this same thread, you will find many specific manufacturers of 4 GB of DDR3 RAM of the recommendations that have been confirmed to work gently to bring the x120e up to 8 GB. Use one of the recommended brands and specific model numbers mentioned and you will be OK.

Make sure you have Windows 7 64-bit installed to access all of the 8 GB, Windows 7 32 bit can recognize more than 3 GB of RAM.

What is the capacity of ram max for this laptop? can I add another identical 4 GB ram card to another location?

I tried to read the manual, it says 8 GB max, but not strategies such configuration.

Yes the manual does sometimes not completely meaningless. What they in fact at p. 3, is it may take up to 8 GB (4 + 4), but it was sold only with up to 6 GB (4 + 2). It can actually take up to 8 GB 2 x 4 gig modules. You need the DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM

  • Speed max and the capacity of RAM of Pavilion dv6

What is the maximum speed and the RAM capacity can put in my Pavilion dv6 (Beats edition)? Completely factory standard

Slolt 2: 4 GB SODIMM Samsung 1333 MHz

    Radeon (TM) HD 6490 M

    Motherboard: 17F9 10.5 A

    BIOS: F.1B

    Sincere greetings

    Justin

You are the very welcome, Justin.

    Yes, that's correct. 2 x 8 GB PC3-10600 memory.

Memory will not run any more quickly than the FSB of the processor. Your CPU FSB is 1333 MHz.

For example: If you have installed 2 x 8 GB PC3-12600 (1666 MHz) memory, he would go only to 1333 MHz.

I don't think that there is no outside but except DDR5 memory in video cards.

But you can not mix DDR memory types, because they work with different voltages and the notches are cut at different places on DDR, DDR2, and DDR3 memory modules to prevent someone to install the bad memory in the PC and damage memory, motherboard or both because of the different voltages they run on.

    Best regards

It says ' Satellite A100 SYSTEM UNIT MODEL No. * PSAANH-04Y03F * ' on the bottom of the laptop.
Google search that gives me 0 search results :/

    Help would be greatly appreciated!

The max RAM depends on the chipset.
You can use a tool like * Everest Home Edition * to check the chipset.
Then you could search properties chipset.

Start the p. 29 and note the warnings on opening the laptop computer is allowed only for service technicians and, unfortunately, I must tell you will proceed at the risk of the guarantee. Yet, many people choose to do and it's a services of this Forum, run by people not HP, can you bring, including HP itself can not, but don't say you were not warned. It is actually fairly difficult. Removal of the motherboard is not necessary, but demand close attention to tighten management and you will be OK. There is also the issue of finding the compatible memory. DDR4 is fairly new on the market.

See p. 35 and this is the memory module you need to reference HP:

  • Satellite A500-1GL - PSAR9E - RAM max

    Hello, I have 2 * 2 GB of RAM on my laptop, I bought a 1 * 8Gb Corsair 1600 Mhz revenge.

But when I insert my new memory module only, I have a blue screen. I saw with CPU ID & SIW that my maximum capacity is 8Gb, so here's my question: is the maximum capacity of 8 GB only for 2 modules of memory of 4 GB each? Or I can theoretically have only a single slot with 1 * 8 GB?

North Bridge: Intel Havendale/Clarkdale Host Bridge revision 02
South Bridge: Intel HM55 revision 05

    Thanks for reading.

You are right. You can increase the Ram up to 8 GB.
In your case, there must be a compatibility problem. According to the specifications of the laptop compatible RAM for your machine is 4 GB DDR3-1066-PA3677U-1M4G.
In my opinion you should order both of them and update your computer.

Modules of RAM and very good quality, you can also order by Kingston - http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/search/options/

    Satellite A210-1AO (Psaele)

According to the specifications of the laptop , your machine can be upgraded up to 4 GB of RAM.
Initially, it has 2 x 1 GB inside.

I recommend you buy 100% compatible memory modules and Kingston is one of the best options for you. Compatible 2 GB of RAM for your Satellite KTT667D2 part number a / 2G.

This old machine was designed for Vista, but it works perfectly with Windows 7. He is not taken in charge for Win8/Win8.1 so, in my opinion, there is no sense to install it.
