1706

"no source valid for" Ai0Software "Windows install cannot continue. It's probably a file that I downloaded from the internet that I cancelled before it finished downloading? I don't have a disc to be inserted. Now, when I turn on my computer window installer is trying to install and I have to cancel push n several times to clear. Re-turn on computer and I have to go through this process again. How can I cancel the task of the installer?

HI thank you very much. Once I discovered what the file was for, it's a snap to fix my problem.

    Hello Steveb72

Files in 7z folder mentioned, is what was extracted from the installer that you downloaded. You are able to indicate the installation prompt to the temporary folder?

I suggest to do the following:

Follow the steps below to clean the software, and then reinstall the printer. These instructions may be similar to what you have already done but are more complete and includes the following steps to remove all temporary files to make sure that nothing interferes with the installation.
    1. open %Temp% and delete all the files in this folder. There may be some files that may still be in use, and you can ignore these files.
2 download the full feature software and drivers

OfficeJet 6500 E709n Full Feature software (XP)

    3. double-click on the downloaded file to extract the files
    4. once the software install window press Cancel or Exit to close the Setup program
    5. type % temp % in the field run or search programs and files.
6 find the starting with 7z folder (example: 7zS2356)
    7. right click on 7z file and choose copy
    8. close the window by %temp% and then right click in the middle of your desktop and choose Paste
    9 open the 7z folder
    10 open the Util folder
    11 open the CCC folder
12 run the Uninstall_L4 and then follow the instructions on the screen to remove the software.
    13. when the software has been removed, restart your computer
    14. run the Accessories\ System Tools Disk Cleanup
15 open the 7z desktop folder and run the setup.exe file to reinstall the printer.
I would like to know if you still have the same issues?

  • Error 1706, impossible to find LENGTH 8.2.1

I recently started getting an error that my TERM 8.2.1 must be configured, whenever I try to load labview (1nd 2010 now 2011) 1706 error is because I don't not/can not install 8.2.1.  Not sure it's the code for myruntime question.

Here is the chronology of events.

LabVIEW tries to start and an annnounces the window: "Please wait while labview configures the 8.2.1 run-time engine.

Then a window "component you're tyring to use is on a CD ROM or other removable disk that is not available" appears and asks for the RUn - Time Engine 8.2.1 disc.  I do not have the 8.2.1 disc, but have 8.2 and 8.5 and upwards.

After canceling the pop up is "error 1706, valid source was not found."

I did the following in no fix.

    Uninstall and re-install

    Installed LabVIEW 2011

Run the 8.2.1 runtime "exe", but it does not seek to install 8.2.1 if she already sees the runtime (I guess)

Any help suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hello Mark,

I think you should try to install runtime LabVIEW 8.2.1. This should be installed when you reinstalled LabVIEW, but try to install manually:

  • Error 1706 and restore Windows to previous state

I have a 1706 error regarding a photo program pre-installed on my computer Dell in 2006.

Search on the site Web of the seller said to find a particular .msi file and run the installation program that him, but a search of my computer files shows that I do not have this file.

I searched the Internet and somewhere it was proposed to restore Windows to a previous state.  But when I do that, I get a message that the restore has not been made, and no changes have been made to my computer.

I ran a registry repair, but that did not help.

I have 2 separate problems here?  A Setup error AND a computer restore the question?  Or are they related in some way?

You won't get any early responses constantly asking the same question (4 times in 4 minutes).

I suggested that as a first step, you use the function "UNDO" - if available - in the program that you used to do the repair 'Register' and then uninstall and throw this program.  See http://chris.pirillo.com/are-registry-cleaners-safe-to-use/ , http://www.edbott.com/weblog/2005/04/why-i-don ' t-use - Registry cleaners / and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2563254

It seems that if you attempt to uninstall (or perhaps fix) an application program.  The MSI file is the Microsoft Installer file used to install the application in the first place.  The same file is also used to uninstall or repair the installation.  If this file was deleted a long time ago (or maybe even never present in the disk image of Dell that was used for the manufacture of your computer), System Restore won't help (don't).  System Restore is not a panacea.

The usual method to solve problems in uninstalling applications is to install the application (which is to replace the missing msi file) again and then uninstall it.  Unfortunately, this does not work in all situations because some applications refuse to install if the old version is still present.  There are alternative methods - if uninstalling the app, that's what you try to do.

It is possible that if you explain what you are trying to accomplish, someone may be able to provide a suggestion.

To increase the probability of getting help, please provide the full text of the error message, and the name and version of the photo program.  Also, please provide the version of Windows you have, including the service pack (click right my computer and select properties for this info).  Because you have a Dell, provide your Number of Service Dell could also help.

  • Is my scanner error 1706.

I'm trying to get my scanner to work again. I followed the instructions above to fix the error 1706.  However, need me only a few steps and then I am forced to cancel when it asks me to insert my Windows XP CD because the CD that came with my computer is Service Pack 2, and I'm now running Service Pack 3, I have an update installation. I don't have a CD of Service Pack 3.  What can I do in order to carry out the correction of scanner problem?

    Thank you!

What type of scanner are you try to make it work, she already worked before and if it used to work, what do you think happened to her no longer work?  Is this a HP scanner by chance?

It's that all the error message says:

    Error 1706

... or is it a bit more what this?

There are a lot of success when you do a search on Google for something like:

Error 1706 no valid source could be found for product analysis

.. .and it relates to a corrupt scanner installation file.

This link that you referenced has been marked as 'response' by a moderator of the Forum after the idle thread for 6 days.  That's the way things work here - especially if the answer to a technical support engineer and has a link to a Microsoft KB article (it actually didn't work for a Forum Moderator Mark the useless reply as 'response').  I seriously doubt that sfc/scannow will help you and it's not how other people having this problem solve their problems (looking at Google results).

I would not like to uninstall SP3 just for this problem so that you can maybe get sfc/scannow to work (which is not the problem).  You don't describe symptoms suggestive of a need to run sfc/scannow and support engineers technical I do not even know how it works even in the first place.

We won't uninstall SP3 for sfc/scannow to work with an SP2 installation CD - this is a ridiculous idea.

  • Trying to install: WindowsXPMediaCenter2005-KB900325-usa__but I discovered that I also need this, but it gives me the error code 1706: KB867460 - NDP1.1sp1 - X 86

Hello, I have Windows Media Center, and I tie to get the 2 Roll-up so I can connect my computer to my xbox, but I need to do this: WindowsXPMediaCenter2005 KB900325-United States, but it will not install. I think the problem is that I do not have this: NDP1.1sp1 - KB867460 - X 86

But when I try to install that, I get the error code 1706

And Yes, I checked the solution to this on the support Web site, and it says to install the Net 1.1 sp1 which as I have said, does not install

I have checked the updates in my Add & Remove Programs, and I have no patch 1.1 (but take note I have two 1.0 patches) which is something that my computer can not have on it in order to install Net 1.1 sp1

So yes, I tried to call microsoft for some time, but can not get a person, and the machine cannot help. I also tried the Fix - it program. So yes, I could really use some help, I tried to understand this for quite awhile.

    Thank you.

Edit: I did a search in all files and folders, and my computer found no netfx.msi (I also tried to run) which is the place where I think that my computer wanted Net 1.1 sp1 must be installed...
