1919 error trying to install Publisher 2003

I have a new Dell computer that is running Windows 8.  Is Publisher 2003 compatible?  It keeps giving me an Error 1919.

Thank you!

Hi Vickie,

According to the Microsoft Windows Compatibility Center Publisher 2003 is not compatible with Windows 8.

I would say - if you did not already - to start the installer in compatibility mode, even if this does not work, I plan. Try just in case where...

Hope this helps & answering your question.

See you soon

    So I got a wireless mouse for my first time and it won't even install on my computer. It isn't the mouse because I tried other wireless mice and none of them work. In my device under other devices Manager there are only 2 USB receivers listed with question marks next to them. It is said that they can not find the drivers for the device. Then under my HIDDEN I tried to update the HID-compliant device and the USB input device, nor able to update. This is the message I get.  Windows encountered a problem installing the software driver for your device. Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error trying to install it. I already contacted EVGA about the issue, because there is where I got my motherboard, but they said to contact Microsoft and I didn't really want to pay 50 dollars to send them an email. Well, I found the solution, just in case anyone has the same problem.  Apparently some day caused Wireless does not work on several computers. Step 1: Download the driver for the Webcam from this link of Lenovo.

  • Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error trying to install it. The system cannot find the specified file.

    Original title: Windows encountered a problem installing the software driver for your device...

    Arrrrgh!  Had a terrible time trying to get the scanner function works on my Epson Stylus CX7000F.

    I get the too common but seemingly irreparable "Windows has encountered a problem installing the software driver for your device...". Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error trying to intall it. The system cannot find the file specified. "

    The job of printer/copier/fax end but not go on the scanner.

    I tried the 'fixes' to epson.com repeatedly with no luck.  This includes their reccomendation uninstall/install several times, trying even to this process in safe mode and clean boot the.

    I ran the program to 'fix' Microsoft ATS with no luck.  It has detected the error and said that the problem has been resolved, but guess what?  No, it isn't.

    I clicked on install update driver/driver from Device Manager.

    I tried the work around, eliminating the "LowerFilters" of the registry.  Guess what?  You have it, no luck.

    So, before I go and buy a new printer/scanner, with no guarantee that they will work.  Does anyone have another suggestion?

    I am running Vista, 32-bit.

    You can also try and replace or install the ntprint.inf file.

    I had a similar problem on a Windows 7 PC and noticed that this file was not present.  I just copied the file from a different PC Win7.  The printer, I tried to install was a Brother MFC-J410w.

    The file can be found here C:\Windows\inf

    Hope this helps someone.

  • Error trying to install drivers for scanner Motorola MC9190

    Okay, maybe my age plays tricks with my mind, but:

    A device when it is PLUGGED in, causes the NEW DEVICE DETECTED process start.  While trying to install the new device drivers - he gets an error message indicating that the unit is "UNPLUGGED"?  This means that a device can be PLUGGED IN and UNPLUGGED, at the same time?

    Hello

    Welcome to the Microsoft community. I will certainly help you with the problem you are experiencing.

    This problem can occur is when there is a connectivity problem or a driver problem. Try the following methods and check.

    Method 1: Run the peripheral hardware troubleshooter

    It checks the common issues of interest and ensures that a new device or hardware connected to your computer has been installed correctly.

    Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter

    Method 2: Compatibility Mode

    Most programs written for Windows Vista also work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all. If a program written for an earlier version of Windows does not work, you can try changing the compatibility of the program settings, either manually or by using the program compatibility problems.

    Make older programs in this version of Windows

    Hope this information was useful. Let us know the results once you have tried these methods. We will be happy to help you further.

  • 1327 error trying to install VMWare Tools - RESOLVED

    Yes, I searched "Error 1327" and found a ton of entries, of which none has helped me.

    Running Windows XP, SP3 under Fusion 2.06 in my iMac.  Received a message that my VMWare tools are outdated. Tried to install; Get the following message: "Error 1327 Invalid Drive E:\. »

    What I REALLY have to go digging in the registry to resolve this problem?

    Is there a simple step by step procedure for those of us who are intimidated by the registry changes?

    The right thing to do would be to fix incorrect information in the Windows registry in one of the following locations that contains wrong information...

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

    Or you could try the following, but it may not work, but you don't have to enter in the Windows registry, if it isn't.

    In a command prompt (start > run > CMD) and use the SUBST command as in the following in your report example is "E:\. "as invalid.

    SUBST E: C:\

    Try to install VMware Tools and the SUBST command should not survive restarts, but if it does so in a command prompt using the following command.

    SUBST E: /D

    Anyway, the correct/proper is to correct the erroneous information in the Windows registry.

  • 0x8007371c error trying to install sp2

    I tried for months install sp2 with no luck. I tried the suggestions in the forum without success. My laptop came without a CD of Vista, because the recovery files are on a disk partition, so I can't use the remedy listed on the forum. Can someone help me to install this update please?

    I myself remember he could McAfee software free trial with the laptop (HP) when I bought it, but I wouldn't have turned it on.

    (And Norton) McAfee applications are known to not uninstall (or upgraded) themselves.

    1. download the McAfee Consumer Product Removal, save it to your desktop tool:http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. click right on the file saved in #1 above, and then select run as administrator to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    4. open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & run it in DEFAULT and modes difficulty then AGGRESSIVE. [1]

    5. restart & test. If still no joy, open a free support by my previous response incident.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    [1] full Disclosure: the difficulty operating in AGGRESSIVE mode will remove your update history but not the list of installed updates.
  • 800705AA error trying to install patches for Microsoft Vista
    Hi I have a Vista computer that won't let me install the Microsoft updates
    XP1 SP1
    WUpdate
    etc.
    Whenever I get just the 800705aa error message
    Some internet research suggest it is perhaps a matter of resources, but the machine is moderate with lots of disk space. 750 MB of Ram and a set at 2 GB swap file.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Hi drivenbysteam,
    Thank you for using answers Forum.
    In your post, I see that you have identified your Vista operating system.
    Your do not need XP service pack.
    Is this a new computer?
    Have you recently updated any material?
    How much hard disk space you have available?
    What version of Vista you have?
    How much video memory do you have?
    A little more information should help us narrow down where to look.
