2.35Mbps on 2.4 GHz WRT1900AC

  • I bought this router the day that it came out so if there is any revision of material I'm on V1. Most of the time, I was very happy until recently.

Two days ago, I bought a new modem (SB6183) in order to facilitate my new maximum speed of 200 Mbps. At the same time, we had a power outage very brief, short enough so that some devices does not even turn off. I mention these two things, because they are the only two things that have changed since my troubles began.

After a few hours of availability my 2.4 GHz band will be reduced to a uniform 2.32 - 2.37Mbps regardless of the distance from the router. 5 GHz has well over 100 Mbps across on back to back test using the app on my GS7 speedtest.net. Restart the router solved this for a few hours. There are also strange problems with wired devices as part chat refresh and offset weird peaks on my PS4 which I've never seen before.

Since the problems started, I replaced the cable from ethernet from the modem to the router, from mixed band n only and back. My router is configured by little action I've not had problems in the past. Prioritization of media is disabled. Firmware is completely updated.

She damaged something failure, is there a problem with my new modem or your ISP, or should I try other things before I replace it? I had friends who have increased their internet speeds or swap modems and had similar problems.

What FW version you have loaded on the router?

What wireless modes do you use on 2.4 Ghz?

What are devcie (s) helps you test speed 2.4 Ghz? Any device these last updated here?

Try single N, manual channels 1, 6 or 11, WPA2 Personal only, not mixed.

The IPv6 only local connection value.

Disable the WPS.

    Hello

I have a strange problem. I use my Linksys WRT1900ac for almost a year and it works great. There is a USB hard drive plugged into it and I have no problem to access the data. I brought a new desktop computer that is compatible 5 GHz. All my other devices are connected trought 2.4 GHz.

When I connect my computer to the 5 GHz WiFi network, I have access to the internet and any other player shared the router. It I connect it to the network 2, 4 GHz, it works. The 2.4 and 5 GHZ networks have the same configuration. The only difference is the SSID. I added 5g at the ent of the 5 GHz one.

I really don't understand why I can't access the shared drive of the 5 GHz network and it works on the 2, 4 GHz. I forgot something?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

It could be that when you connect to the 5 GHz network, your PC is set to public and therefore discovery network is disabled, then you are not able to see the drive.  Just throw it out there.

  • Lack of network of 2.4 Ghz on Linksys WRT1900ACS

I set up my new Linksys WRT1900ACS yesterday.

Originally, I created two networks Joy_5 and Joy_2.4. Everything worked.

My Fitbit balance don't like underscores in SSID so I changed the two networks to joy.

Since then, I am unable to do * nothing * frequency of 2.4 Ghz.

I did a factory reset, and I tried all channels. The interface seems to think that there is a network on the band but can see no external device (I've tried laptops and phones).

I've attached a screenshot of the current settings.

Joy2 network (the current name of the 2.4 Ghz network) cannot be seen by any device (even when right next to the router).

I don't know what else to try. It is currently the choice between return the router as defective DD or WRT giving a go...

I does look like it is defective.

Some wireless devices will be confuse previous wireless networks to which they connect. In general, you can get them to forget or remove networks remembers previous. Rename the SSID something completely different should circumvent the requirement of Forget.

  • Linksys WRT1900AC bad speed on 5 GHz network

I have been using the Linksys WRT1900AC for several months now and the speeds used 20-30Mbps network 2.4 GHz and 80 - 100 Mbps on the 5 GHz network. But recently, the speed on the 5 GHz network are only able to go up to 20Mbps and turns usually around 10 Mbps. However, the 2.4 GHz network keeps always between 20-30Mbps.

I tried everything but the 5 GHz network and I still cannot improve for it. Any suggestions?

Just info by addition, the modem I use also, forwards compatible speeds of 100 Mbps. I tested it and it is always gives 100 Mbps speeeds.

    Thank you.

    Hi @haoquan5,.

He must have a faster speed when connected wireless to the router. I suggest to configure prioritization of media and set the speed at which you acquired your provider of Internet Service in Kbps. Then it is better to Support WMM commissioning and click OK.

  • WRT1900AC: 2.4 GHz. Wireless does not

I do not use the 2.4 GHz. broadband wireless on my WRT1900AC for the moment. I turned it off and press 'Apply '. Who has not extinguished the 2.4 GHz. wireless, so I turned to cycling the router. That didn't do it. I turned the 2.4 GHz. band back on and it shut off again. 'Apply' and which finally extinguished last night. However, when I looked this morning the 2.4 GHz. band is back on, although the admin GUI shows like 'OFF', and it is gray in the section of the main panel wireless. InSSIDer both WiFi analyzer shows a nice 2.4 GHz. wireless of the WRT1900AC signal this morning.

Everyone knows this? How really disable you 2.4 GHz. wireless, anyway?

    Thank you.

Well, too bad. It turns out that I need a 2.4 GHz. for my printer WiFi after all. So I can't disable 2.4 GHz. wireless.

    Good thing.

  • 2.4 GHz Wireless and the problem of USB 3.0 with WRT1900ACS

    Hi people

I guess I discovered a new "buggy" feature on my new ultra buggy router.

When I plug my WD mybook external hard drive usb 3.0 on the slot usb 3.0 on the Router 2.4 GHz and 2.4 GHz-comments off immediately. When I unplung the hard drive the 2.4 GHz re - started working properly, but after 3 times this operation, I have to restart my router with the cause of usb 3.0 unplugged the 2.4 GHz band stops to work control. (also tried with different readers)

On the 2.0/sATA port everything works fine, but I bought this router for sharing an external hard drive connected to the router quick installation network data (and on this side, this router is amazing > 100 MB/sec in reading from the hard drive to the usb 3.0 port).

This happens with the firmwares both 1.0.0.169041 and 1.0.0.168229.

I also tried to put all possible combinations in the settings Wireless 2.4 GHz.

All wired connections work properly since I bought it.

If I can't solve this problem in 1 week I will change this router, bought on amazon, with an ASUS or a Netgear, may be less effective on the side of drive hard usb 3.0, but probably more stable than this one.

It seems to me that Belkin doesn't care for anything about its customers, they do not work hard to solve the problems on these router, otherwise there is no other router but WRT1900AC v1 with a stable firmware. Instead, the company retains to launch the new hw updates each year. Belkin will never reach the success of the WRT54G in following this path.

The speed of USB3.0 data transfer causes intereferences with the frequency of 2.4 GHz WLAN.

Make sure that you use a USB 3.0 cable tank of high quality when connecting any device to the USB 3.0 port.

  • WRT1900AC 5 GHz speed internet a drop to zero during a short period

    Hello

Could you please help me with this question. I ' v had the router for a few weeks and only reviews the issue when I download large files, the drops of speed to zero and I momentarely loses internet connection, only so that it can be restored shortly after. It continues to go like that in the waves. (There is no disconnect/reconnect the router).

It only happens when I use 5 GHz. There is not such a problem with 2.4 ghz

I tried all the different parameters (from mixed 802. 11A & n and a/d) and the widths of different channels. Firmware is updated through automatic update.

There are no other networks of 5 GHz around me.

My other PC is connected via a cable and have no issues.

My wireless card is killer Wireless - n 1202

With the help of windows 8.

    Thank you

I suggest to disable the automatic update, it's a bad idea. Then since there are already old, you can do a factory reset and the config from scratch. Which has been shown to solve a lot of weird problems.

  • wrt1900ac 2.4 ghz its downgrade my connection speed and 5 GHz not

I experiment some downgrade ike ago one day, I tried to configure my router server disk external for use outside my network and now my connection on 2.4 ghz its downgrade 10 less and 5 GHz its good pop and stable

You can set the channel Wireless 2.4 GHz to improve the connection 2.4 GHz. try channel 6, 11, 9, or 1.

Is there a fix I can create in the configuration or buy a timer to recycle power on router once a day?

    Thanks for the help

    Makes sense.

I will break the hard reset and reconfigure when I find the time.

In addition, he had new neighbour moved in what could be the cause of the issue of the wifi as well. Will seek to change channels 2,4 GHz to 1 or 6, currently on 11.

Thanks for the ultra fast reply.

    Appreciate your advice.

  • WRT1900ACS - terrible 5 GHz speed

This route has the excellent signal strength, but the 5 GHz speeds are terrible. 2-4 mb/s. The speed of 2.4 ghz are more in line with the ISP 30 MB/s

    Any suggestions?

In addition, the router shows uptime anywhere? I want to know if I have the problem of restarting reported by others.

Thanks for the suggestions. Current firmware 1.0.0.169041

I just enable prioritization of media as mentioned in another thread and here

    http://www.Linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=138353

Restart, and now 5 GHz is made 37 MB/s down.

I must say it's stupid. I add devices or applications to the list. So why 5 GHz is strangled without this parameter is turned on?

This must be a bug in the firmware. Without hierarchy, all should have full access. And why only the 5 GHz network are affected?

  • WRT1900AC with internet speed problems

So I've recently updated my 30mbps to 180mbps Comcast internet. We decided to get new hardware to support this faster speed that our 'old' was quite old. The old router is a Linksys E2000, not terribly old, but does support up to 300 Mbps. Our upgrade includes the WRT1900AC and a modem Arris Surfboard SB6183, both purchased about 3 months ago.

Now here's my number: At the time when we thought that the new internet, router and modem seemed quick and we really didn't actually check our speeds are after you configure the settings. After about a month I started noticing the buffering in the videos and on the websites of loading time slower. I decided to perform a speed test on speedtest.net and found that the speed was down to what she was before us all, upgraded 30mbps... This is certainly not what I pay for...

A crossed wireless settings to try various channels rather than just auto and got one that seems to work. Channel 11-2, 462 GHz on the 2.4 GHz network and channel 157 - 5.785 GHz on 5 Ghz. prioritization of media network also tried lit after reading that would solve the problem. He did it! I was getting around 150mbps down, so it was a big improvement. Awesome its fixed!

I ignore the case for a few weeks, but later concluded that the internet was down to 35mbps. This confused me because I did not change settings either. I do more research and find how to configure bandwidth downstream under MP settings. He seemed to be attached to all about 30mbps so I upped it to 200 Mbit / s. save the settings, restart the router just to be sure and do a speed test. Nothing has changed. Always get a slower speed to about 35mbps down and 12 upwards.

I tried everything I found on the internet with no results. To reset the router to factory settings to change the channel under network settings for each network. Still nothing. It fluctuated between 20-35mbps down with the settings I've adjusted and does not exceed 35. I don't know if there is a hidden buffer, I should be searching or if it's something else.

If I'm missing any info in this I'm going to try my best to fill it.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thank you

    Matthew

Your bandwidth downstream MP must be set to 184320. Active WMM.

To ensure that the issue is not the modem or ISP connect a computer directly to the ISP modem and run the speed test. Keep in mind that on your network the user could also heavily use the Internet causing the performance problem.

  • Network WRT1900AC comments is seen, connectable, but no password invite or internet access

I have WRT1900AC firmware version 1.1.8.164461. The wireless channel interference is not a problem.

Under access as a guest, I can see allow guest access turned on, I have a SSID of 2.4 Ghz and a password for the guest network. Using my 2.4 Ghz devices, I can see the SSID I just referred to. My devices can connect to it.

But, once connected, I never receive a prompt for the password and I have no internet access. The screen Smart Wi - Fi are always "0 clients" are currently connected, regardless of the number of devices made the level of SSID link.

I installed the router months ago, but did not know that access as a guest did not work because it always seemed well on the router and I didn't have a camera to test with. But I just discovered that many guests were upset that they can't connect with the password that I gave them. I am very disappointed by the Linksys support answer to my question.

For now, I am getting the correct behavior after a reset of the WRT1900AC plant. The guest network is now a password in a browser for the two test devices. My comments network IP addresses have the prefix 192.168.3.x and I can't find an address 192.168.2.x on my network.

  • One month old WRT1900AC deteriorates, strange problems

So I've upgraded to a WRT1900AC ago a month based on reviews and research online.

The installer was not serious and performance seems to be what I expected, but in the course of the last week or two, there was a notable decline in performance and some strange WiFi problems.

1 network devices list of devices meant to be connected via ethernet wireless.

    2. devices which were fortunately connected to the 5 GHz band will connect is more to it.

    3. a Macbook Pro, who played very well with 3 different routers suddenly does not connect to the WRT1900AC at all, but fortunately connects to my router Fortigate.

    4. make a simple change of last night caused to security wireless settings are totally disabled on the 2.4 GHz band, while the router status page has continued (Yes, authorized, cache, even looked at him from another pc) to insist that she had WPA2 PSK active.

5 turn off both radios wireless via the browser has failed. 2.4 GHz non-secure radio continued to broadcast.

    6 restart did nothing.

    7. in general, throughput has significantly slowed - Dropbox, for example, provides the connection to a crawl during the synchronization.

    8. restoration of the default settings in the browser and then change SSID and password for my normal seem to have fixed things, but for how long?

Not a fan of the interface.

Background: mixed environment, Mac, Windows, Android, PS4, XBox, XBox 360. Living in such things as does another Member of the family.

Should not be affected by these issues with a ~ $220 router - this isn't a model of consumption barebones but it seems not quite ready for primetime-I was wondering if I should be Exchange or return while I still can for a Netgear or maybe an Asus.

No, I'm sorry not to be able to put the time in troubleshooting this but it seems rather unnecessary since there is no indication of a solution in the form of a firmware updated on the horizon and my time is valuable so (it is already packed) and I will replace it with a Netgear AC2600.

PS: just before I packed it it became all 2.5Mbps down on the 5 GHz band. For that, I spent $220 and several hours of my time?

PPS: I now call a customer of the company and tell them that the router, I recommended to them is not up to my expectations and they will probably return as their router, because they only had it for 2 weeks.

  • WRT1900ACS 8 x slower than EA old

Put my new WRT1900ACS in the exact same task that my router Linksys EA one came, 5 feet away Samsung Galaxy S6 is showing 866Mbps,-34 dBm, the signal strength, channel 153.

However, it is only really get 41 Mbps to the top and 25 Mbps down and measured by OOKlA Speedtest (Internet) Android and Android WIFI Speedtest (wired LAN PC).

With my old router EA, I was getting 150 Mbps on Speedtest OOKIA - max my modem can do.  I will now have the floor as an AP and sat down next to the WRT1900ACS give me 25Mbps down, EA upstairs always gives me 65 Mbps to a good 100 feet away and through a floor.

They have very similar web interfaces, so I copied all the router settings of EA, including forcing them channels he used, and finally even the settings under advanced - wireless.html.

It's not interference or a channel number, given that EA got 8 x speed sitting in the same place on the same channel.  Prioritization of media is set to OFF.  List of devices shows phone connected on the 5 GHz band.

Any ideas before I RMA it?

So, I 'solved', kind of?  Switching personal WPA2 only to WPA2/WPA mixed personal my up shoots and low rate of 400 MB/s.  Return to personal WPA2 only blocking their return to up to 40 Mbps to the top and 25 Mbit/s down.

Exactly backwards of the majority of the recommendations.  To be clear:

    WPA2 only: 40Mbps up/25 Mbps down

    WPA2/WPA mixed: 400 bit/s upwards and down.

It is with a phone Samsung Galaxy 6, so I don't think it's a matter of the phone is not not about to manage WPA2.
