wrt1900ac antennas

Hello

Just got my wrt1900ac and I wonder there is no technical difference between the antennas, broadcasting four antenna all the same data? or two do not broadcast the 2.5 GHZ and the other 5 GHZ, etc.. I have two high-gain external antennas and want to know which of the four, I should replace, if there is a difference or if she does'nt question that is not being replaced.

Thank you.

tech support says that it is not serious.

  • WRT1900ACS - low wifi signal strength

Finally, I returned my reboot constantly and lock WRT1900AC V1 and got a new WRT1900ACS in Exchange.  (Thanks for the service of 2 year contract with bestbuy).

The intensity of the signal of the WRT1900AC V1 was regularly 3 to 6 DB louder than my Apple Airport.  It's one of the things that I really liked on the V1 WRT1900AC... good coverage.

The WRT1900ACS is more stable, but the signal strength is very low compared to the Apple Airport.

Here are the results of a test... in both cases I measured the signal strenth with my MacBook Air with the routers placed in the same position and from the same location.  I have reproduced this test of different areas of the House and in all cases, the airport was a signal much stronger.

This is the airport.  RSSI is - 68 DBm, which is a very good signal.

Now, here's the WRT1900ACS. RSSI is - 80dBm which is an almost unusable signal.

So here are my questions to the experts of the group... would you say that this WRT1900ACS is defective and must be returned?  Or y at - it something on the ACS firmware that has changed (I'm currently running with the last 1.0.0.172978 rev).

No amount of 4 on the WRT1900ACS antenna setting does make a difference.

Looking for some ideas to try before returning this unit to another Exchange.

    Thank you

  • Model WRT1900AC consistent, persistent of the GALs of WiFi

Hello, I noticed that my new brand WRT1900AC a pattern consistent and persistent lag on WiFi. I tried different placements, antena positions, restores, put it next to the laptop - pattern remains the same no matter what happens. Software InSSIDer shows no conflict on my 5 GHz N network. Please take a look at this model: http://pastebin.com/LAaNFGuc

The model is: every minute, or so there is a serious discrepancy (100 to 200 ms) and then he comes back to 1ms, then after a minute latency period and the cycle repeats indefinitely. It's very frustrating because I tested my old cheap, compact WiFi router and it gives me 1 compatible MS all the time. I have installed latest firmware and have exhausted my options to diagnose me. Someone have any suggestions, would someone run same test, and see if the results are the same, support could be something on this subject? My blind guess is that every minute or so the router is something very CPU expensive, maybe recalibrate and it takes 300 to 400 ms so he could return to the treatment of packets. Thank you for any help or suggestion.

Hello everyone, thank you for your messages. I tried 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz with the same result. But I found the cause and solution.

    The cause:

Drivers Intel for Windows 8 and 8.1 for their Centrino WiFi network cards (thinkpads have) have experienced a bug that causes scanning to broadcast SSID significant lag on the network card. This only concerns cards Intel Centrino, other maps do not suffer from this.

    Solution:

Change the value of Windows for WiFi registry do not search for new networks while you are connected to one. The solution works and is posted on the forums of Lenovo here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows-8-and-8-1-Knowledge-Base/Debugging-latency-spikes-and-lag-on-ce...

It worked for me, now I get 1 compatible MS all the time.

If the option is not a Repeater/Extender so will have to wait for someone who has used an external USB antenna down to.

  • Number of antennas router question?  (Several gadgets WiFi using 1 router)

-My House is a 3 storey 5 bedrooms single family home.  There are 4 people living under his roof and each person has at least 3-4 items wireless who rely on our network domestic wi - fi.  Include wireless iPhone 2 of 6, 3 iPhone 5, 2 iMac (an older and a new one), 1 airbook, 1 MS Surface, 2 older laptops Apple (the old 1 "thick white), 2 iPads, Kindle 1-2, frame 1 photo wireless, 3 printers, wifi, 1 Sony PlayStation4 (via wifi) and much more.

Our current router is a double (2.5 and 5) and we use them both, and we had recently a technician change the channels, so we are not in competition with the neighbors.  The router signal strength is strong in the home to most of the places.

My question: with so many features, would be useful to have several routers with multiple antennas to accommodate this request, or made this same question?

My current router has 3 visible external antennas.  I read that the Airport Extreme has 6 internal antennas.  I'm ready to go buy Airport Extreme, if 3 additional antennas can help, or if I can use two routers for a total of 9 antennas (if this is important).

Our services to wide band is xfinity and we have one of their fastest options.  Not quite the 105, but about 80.

    Any suggestions?

Several wireless routers will tend to work better than the Gothic pulpit super multi-antenna a monster looking for router.

But they all need to be connected with the ethernet.

Read how to get excellent wireless in your House.

    http://www.SmallNetBuilder.com/basics/wireless-basics/31576-the-best-way-to-get-ensemble-Maison-sans wire-coverage

External antennas tend to be more effective than internal, but the actual number of antennas is easily overrated.

Most of the antennas used on routers now are dual band... which means inside the plastic, they have sections for the two bands... If an antenna is really two.

Our current router is a double (2.5 and 5) and we use both

Is what model exactly? Of basic etiquette please.

We had recently a technician change the channels, so we are not in competition with the neighbors.  The router signal strength is strong in the home to most of the places.

It would have been correct for the first 5 minutes after the technician left the House and then totally out of place. Channel of all the equipment that surrounds you change every day, every hour... maybe every 5 min. While I don't disagree with fixing channel... others would say that it should be left on auto. You gain nothing much at all.

If the signal strength is good over a 3-storey house, you are incredibly lucky.

You can't effectively add routers more unless you install ethernet to provide an infrastructure for data streams.

  • The Pavilion Elite HPE475 need an external antenna to a wireless connection?

I just bought this machine and have had problems with a poor quality since the wireless signal. HP technical team came up with all sorts of different explanations, and I even had to send for the "repair" because one of them think that the wireless card was defective. The last time it's because he needs an antenna.

Can someone confirm if this machine wireless card requires an antenna to be connected to the two screws Golden at the back of the computer? What is the answer, or just another diversion?

I was not sent an antenna with the computer, it may be a mistake the part of HP. I can connect to the internet, but usually get that two bars on the signal, while my old computer has always had five bars, as do other computers on the network. The connection keeps dropping out and is extremely slow to load at times.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

I suggest that you take a look at what came in the box.

The low-profile wireless network card should have with an antenna and two cables with connectors from red and blue to differentiate the connection to the wireless card.

The service center may be assuming that you already know that... All the wireless cards that come with desktop computers have a connected external antenna with cable to the wireless card.

This image is an example. Some cards equipped with antennas that screw directly on the gold screws. Most 802.11 b/g/n card look like this.

Please report anything that is on the label with bar code on the back of your PC, except the serial number. The HPE475 is not a complete description of a PC.

    Best regards

  • Satellite 1410-902: what is this device has a WiFi antenna?

    Hello.

I have Toshiba S1410-902 and I want to make this computer works in wireless local area network. I am concidering buying card wifi Mini-PCI Slot, not the PCMCIA card. This is why I have a few questions:

    1. this model (s1410-902) there "build-in" antenna autour LCD? Purchase Mini-PCI wifi card can be unwise if the answer is 'no '.

    2. is there a list comatibilty miniPCI cards wifi? If yes - where? Blocks use of wifi cards of cards not compatible (such as CD-ROMs) BIOS?
Buy the card wifi of any producer?

    Hello

According to the specs of this device is ready WiFi and the antenna should be there. I put t know exactly where is the location of WiFi antenna, but it should be placed somewhere under the keyboard. It is very easy to remove the keyboard (fixed with three screws) and you can check if you can find the crack. There are also the antenna (black and white cables).

Unfortunately I can't give you specific information about the compatible WiFi cards, but you can contact the Service partner in your country. I'm sure they can help you.

  • iMac connects to the router of Linkysys WRT1900ac

I am trying to help a friend get his iMac 12.1, that is running 10.11.4, to connect to a new Linksys WRT1900ac router.  The router is a novelty in this House, is in the same room of 10 x 12, as the computers listed below, and the installer was using the Linksys recommends the method, which is to let the Linksys to make adjustments.

    Here are its configuration;

    The router is connected to a cable modem, ISP and the following devices are connected to the router and works well;

    Via ethernet

    Windows 10 PC

AT & T cell phone extender

    Ooma VOIP

    Wireless

    iPhone

    iPad

    Notebook PC

While troubleshooting my MacBook 5.1 also allows to connect without problems to the Linksys router.

Note that her iMac connects without problem to the wifi network Netgear Guest unprotected from its neighbor.  I also installed in his room my 1st generation Airport Express, which has added a second wifi network but without access to the internet and his iMac connect without problems to this wifi.

    Here are the steps I took to try to solve this problem, and they were unsuccessful;

➔ Scanned for malware/adware with Malwarebytes and found nothing.

➔ Ransacked after the files in/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration and restarted

    com Apple.Airport.Preferences.plist
    NetworkInterfaces.plist
    Preferences.plist

➔ When the previous did not work I trashed all the files in the folder/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration except "com.apple.boot.plist', which would not remove and rebooted

➔ Created a second user account and still not able to connect to the Linksys router

    ➔ Repaired permissions

➔ Created a new location in System Preferences > network and added the OpenDNS addresses and in the material value MTU 1453

➔ restarted in safe mode and not still could not connect

Firmware on the router Checked ➔, which is updated

    ➔ Reset SMC

➔ reinstalled El Capitan via the App Store

That's all I could think about.  I'm puzzled.

I checked the router and everything seems ok, but I'm no expert.  There may be something I'm not contagious.  I have seen that he has no MAC filtering set up in the router, so this isn't everything.

Please tell me if there is something that I'm on.  Is there something in the router, that I need to change?  There are other files in the Mac, I need to delete?  Is there any other troubleshooting steps I can take to identify this problem.

Any help would be appreciated as it is a total mystery to me.

There are a lot of variables, but start with some basic info. So on her iMac, if you click the wifi at the top right, you can see his router listed?

Gandalf is right. There is no card on your laptop wireless network. The best solution for you is on http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com section Products > Options & Accessories > Communications.

I found one for you. It's Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card (802. 11 b / g) with part number PA3300U-1MPC.

If there is no on/off switch you can enable/disable it in many ways. If you buy one and need help let us know.

  • Pavilion elite m9255uk: damaged wiring antenna Office

Main problem is that the PC won't start, thinking that perhaps it would be mobo.  Yes I know it's old but it's my favorite. Thus, three questions

    1ST QUARTER

The PC Pavilion Elite has a built-in wireless antenna for the management of wireless LAN 802.11 b/g. I just ran my fingers on the thread that connects the card/adapter inside the 'roof' and the coating of the wire is cracked near the 'roof' of the pc.  He has obviously been pinched or rubs against something, could that have damaged the mobo if the stripped part had made contact with the case?  If this isn't the case, it would be prudent to cover the part damaged this wiring with insulation tape?

    Q2

Otherwise, could remove the card/adapter and wiring and do not use wireless, what would be the consequences of this?

    Q3

After that the cracked wire issue is sorted, I'll have to do some work of elimination on the problem of no initialization.  What are the sons of "skeleton" that should be left connected to the mobo to start upward? (please let me know if you want this bit of my questions posted elsewhere and I'll re)

With this damaged wiring, I doubt it will be problem except playing havoc with wireless reception.  Stick the broken insulation should be fine, as long as the wire is OK.
