2 Palm trees and installing the software

I use an old m100 to work for basic tasks a couple and a Palm TX for personal use. Computer situations have changed and I would like to install the desktop software for my m100 on the same computer I synchronize my TX on. Which will cause problems, having 2 different Hotsynchs and versions of office on the same computer? It will replace the other?

To install the m100 not version!

Just use the desktop for the TX!  Go ahead and plug your M100. (I forgot, the m100 uses USB wiring right?)

As long as your m100 has a different name from HotSync, it will work fine!

(I have about 12 different Palm devices synced to my computer...)

    Hello

I recently acquired the HP Envy 4524 printer, I have set up on my WiFi network and printed from my iPhone and iPad with AirPrint and even printed my Mac using the printer set up as a printer AirPrint.  I would like to install the driver of HP printer with the HP Easy Scan software so I am able to scan and have more control over the printer that I can with AirPrint.

I tried to use the HP Easy Start software, but it was not easy at all.  I went through the process and everything was good until I got to the part "Download and install the software" installation and I get a message saying "unable to install the software.  Try again later. »

    Hi @JZjr,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you have trouble to install your HP Envy 4524 on Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan. I'm happy to help you!

For this printer, there is no full feature software and drivers directly from HP for Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan. This printer can use the built-in driver directly from Apple, which is installed by using the Apple update. According to this document, OS X v10.11 v10.10 compatible printers.

I recommend you to go through this guide, installation of a printer Mac driver by using Apple Software Update. Or, if you need to download the driver manually, you can do it on this website, HP v3.1 for OS X printer drivers.

Then you scan using one of the methods in this post, Re: iMac OS X 10.9.3 Scan for iMac driver for HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 a A910a does not appear to be, by my colleague @Sunshyn2005. (These options works with this printer on Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan).

  • Impossible to install the software

    Please can you advise

The scanner has recently stopped working on my printer HP B109NZ all-in-one. The error message indicates that another program has control of the scanner. After reading the Articles from HP, I uninstalled the HP software from my system with the help of uninstall Windows 7 L4.bat - prof. I cleaned the system, such as recommended. I noticed that when I used the original installation CD, it wouldn't run and install the software. I tried to download the software, but which does not install too all the required parameters. After installation, the drivers are not on the system.

What should I do to solve this problem. I tried several times. I can do a restore of the system of my backups, but I still wouldn't be able to use the scanner.

    Hi Mike,.

Unfortunately, I believe that we have exhausted the troubleshooting steps that we could try on the side of the printer of the things, and I would recommend to get in touch with Acer or Microsoft to see if they can fix the computer/OS. If copies are work and scan is the problem, it is software related and our steps have resolved all conflicts printer driver at this stage of the game.

I hope you find a resolution, good luck!

When you try to install with the CD, try installing the latest Windows 7 driver from the HP website. Restart the computer, turn off the printer, then reboot your router and then launch the installation. Here is a direct link to the driver file:

What exactly is the software that you have installed?

    Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP

The software is called RegWork.  I had to pay for it.  It is not yet enabled.  It seems to be just a type of utility to clean my system scan.  Since it was recommended by Microsoft Security Essentials, I thought it was the right thing to do.
Should I continue to carry out this activation or should I unstall it.

What makes you think that Microsoft Security Essentials recommended
    It? That cannot be good.

You must uninstall it. Registry cleaning programs are all snake
oil. The registry cleaning is not necessary and dangerous. Leave the
Only registry and do not use any registry cleaner. Despite what a lot
people think, and try to which suppliers of software record cleaning
convince you to have used really doesn't hurt registry entries
    you.

The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner by mistake
delete an entry you need is much greater than any potential benefit
    It can have.

    Read http://www.edbott.com/weblog/archives/000643.html

    and also
    http://blogs.technet.com/markrussinovich/Archive/2005/10/02/registry-junk-a-Windows-fact-of-life.aspx

Let me stress that neither me nor anyone else who warns the
use of registry cleaners never said that they always cause
problems. If they have always caused problems, they would disappear from
the market almost immediately. Many people have used a registry
cleaner and never had a problem with it.

The problem with a registry cleaner is that it carries with it
the risk of a significant problem. And since there is no
benefits of using a registry cleaner, running that risk is a very bad
    good deal.

You can do a fresh install if you feel that this is necessary.

You can try to go through this list as well...

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find.  Reboot when necessary.  (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

Do a house cleaning and the dust of this hard drive:

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 9 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.
