Satellite C650D - 12 c no bootable device - insert the diskette boot & a press

Hello

I have a C650D that worked very well in a week ago.
Stop ok, it refused to start at the next startup.

It comes up saying "no boot device - insert the diskette boot & press any key".
So I blocked a recovery bootable dvd and the same thing came, but although the dvd player "trembled" when I inserted the disc, it does not seem to watch it at all when I rebooted.
I rebooted again & you press F12 to check the boot order. 1st is usb, then cd/dvd, lan, floppy, then hdd/ssd drive.
I chose cd/dvd and then a wait of a few seconds, he says ' disc error has occurred. Press ctrl + alt + delete to restart.

As well the HDD & dvd player display correctly in the bios.

I plugged a usb dvd drive, put in a recovery cd, rebooted & it started to boot from the USB, but then stopped doing anything after that the first bit of the info came on the screen.
I tried several bootable CD and they all do the same thing. They begin the startup, then freeze. For example, if I put in an XP installation disc I get - "Press any key to boot from the CD" usb (one), then "Setup inspects your hardware", then a black screen.

For example, I tried to change anything that could help in the bios, the SATA controller mode, but nothing has no effect on the situation.

Any ideas, anyone please?

Thank you very much.

EDIT:
I just tried to boot from the USB stick with the hard drive removed from the system and the boot process continues normally. If I try and boot from the internal dvd player if he still doesn't see any disk...

> I just tried to boot from the USB stick with the hard drive removed from the system and the boot process continues normally. If I try and boot from the internal dvd player if he still doesn't see any disk...

This means that if you remove the HARD drive, you can boot from the USB flash drive, but you cannot boot from CD/DVD drive even if the HARD drive is removed?

It seems really strange, but I think this means that either the controller SATA on the motherboard is defective and therefore it is not possible to boot from CD/DVD or HARD disk drive. Or it could also be that the ODD and HARD drive is malfunctioning. But it would be really strange that the two aircraft would begin to malfunction at the same time

So maybe the second idea is not true however, it means that something has happened to the motherboard.

But try this: access the BIOS by pressing F2 at the beginning. Now set to the default settings by pressing on F9 and then save the changes by pressing F10.
Now try to start it again using a recovery disk

    Help!

    Hello

This error message appears because the BIOS didn't not find a bootable device containing an operating system.

What of the HARD drive? Is it recognized by the BIOS?
Check in the BIOS settings; Press ESC and F1 to access the BIOS.
There, you should check if the HARD drive (all details of the HARD drive should appear) is recognized.
If this isn't the case, then it means that your HARD drive is dead and so you cannot boot from the HARD drive.

You cannot use a USB on Mac 2011 Installer. Please burn the ISO on a physical DVD Windows (a DVD - R Carbon SL on the rate of burning slower is better) and use it to install Windows. The file Info.plist changes only allowing the creation of USB, but does not fully support a USB Installation.

Have you tried to reinstall the hard drive if yes. Then the drive is bad & who has need of a replacement.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disc replaced.

Home premium Windows Vista, 64-bit operating system

    Hello

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

    ____________________________________________________________

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

    __________________________________________________________

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

All my pictures from my baby for 9 months of birth are on the laptop so I really need to make it work.

If the disk HARD isn t appearing on the first page of the BIOS, it means that the HARD drive was not recognized by the BIOS, and in most cases, this means that the HARD drive is faulty.

From my point of view of a few you need to replace the HARD drive.
Then you must install the new system using the Toshiba recovery media.

In case you have not created this recovery (recovery or USB flash memory stick drive) media in the past, you can try installing the OS using another disc (from Microsoft?)

But where you would choose Win 7 system, you must disable secure in the BIOS startup and you should pass the CSM UEFI.

  • My Toshiba laptop error: No. Bootable device-insert boot disk and press any key.

When I put the bootable disc in I lost all my data. Now the problem is that I have a disk of Home Premium Windows 7 64 bit with product key number. This drive doesn't have SP1 on it, and when I tried to load the disc the message was that he could not install this drive.  This hardware of computers may not support booting to this disk.  Make sure that the drive controller is enabled in the Bios of the computer.  (I don't have the original software provided with the purchased used laptop computer).

I called Toshiba and they said I needed a new drive and it would install for $149.00. I did not pursue it.

Is my question there a way to get a Microsoft update disc that includes the original as well as the Service Pak data? I see several option on the web site but do not know what I can do.  It seems to me that everything I need is the service pak but cannot load the original software. Is there something in the BIOS I can change?

Or is there another solution without buying all new software.

    Thank you

Your PC Toshiba laptop includes a manufacturer recovery partition, and unless you have screwed up the hard drive, it should still be there and accessible...

That's how access you... For Toshiba, press and hold the "0" BEFORE and during power-up Need you options recovery and overall the machine back exactly as it was when you bought it first.

Several updates and hours later, you would still have a working machine. After re-installing your programs preferred and your applications, you must use the data backups made to recover what you have done on the machine since...

It takes a lot of time, but it all works.

    An alternative...

You can download a Windows 7 ISO, Windows 7 downloads , create a boot from it and pure media install Windows. The only catch here is that you must be able to read the sticker COST on the machine, the version of Windows and the key code. Then you re - install your favorite programs and do data backup procedure as above.

If you have no backups of data or copies elsewhere and your Windows does not start, you need to make the drive of the machine, connect to another and copy the important of her data files, then place the player to the original host, using one of the methods above to re - install Windows...
