2 questions about Sony STR DN1030

First of all, how can I activate AirPlay without turning on the TV at the same time? I have a Sony's Bravia TV. I tried to change the HDMI settings but did not understand right now.

Secondly, one of the reasons why I bought this unit was because it supports the reading of Zone 2. I called Sony to ask about it before you buy it and was assured that she had the ability. However, I find now that Zone 2 does not work with AirPlay, which was the main reason I wanted. Someone has understood how to play Airplay through Zone 2?

  • question about Sony media player RMT-D302 formats

First of all, I hope this is the correct area of the forum to post this question.

A: the media player Sony RMT-D302

I'm reading a blu - ray movie, I have it on a file to MKV format, and this is the total of 8 GB.

the problem is that the traditional BACK file format accommodates apparently NOT a file of this size.

I think that one of the new file BACK formats can handle a file of this size, BUT the problem is I don't think that the Sony drive can work with this particular file format.

Eventually, there was a sort of firmware update that allows the player to manage the different formats, I should check it.

To summarize: what do you recommend to play a great blu - ray movie on the media player from Sony?

    Thank you!

    w

    Hello W,
If you took your movies at home and them encoded to MKV format code please your movie again in a M2TS format to watch on your Blu - Ray player. the model of your drive is important, because some won't recognize FAT32 disks that have an upper limit of 4 GB. Some newer readers recognize NTFS, so the correct answer is dependent on the player.

  • How to connect the Nintendo Wii to my STR-DN1030?

    Hello

I recently bought a STR-DN1030 and I have a question now to get the Wii audio. I use a RCA cable with video connector 3 (red/green/blue) and 2 audio connectors (red/white). What I want is for the audio and video get the amp with RCA and out to the TV via the HDMI TV OUT cable.

So I plugged the video connector 3 RCA to "Component video - SAT/CATV (2)" and tried to connect the 2 RCA audio connector to "Audio in" (sat/catv) but I have no sound, even if I get the picture.

On the allocation of entry for the video source (I choose video 1) I put the video on computer.  and audio analogue.

Can you tell me how can I connect the Wii RCA component cable so I can get the video on TV via HDMI and the sound of the amp?

    Thanks for your help.

Try to use the sockets labelled AUDIO IN TV to the AV STR-DN1030 receiver. If the same problem persists. Please provide the following information:

    1. What is the brand name of your television? If it's a Sony, which is the full model number? If it is other than Sony, is able in your TV Audio Return Channel (ARC)? (pages 26 and 27 of the Manual)
    2. If your TV isn't capable ARC , so you can connect an optical cable from the receiver to the TV.
    3. If your're TV's able ARC , does not sound problem occurs on all video games Wii that you tried? Do you get sound when the Wii is connected directly to the TV using the same red and white strings?
    4. Do you get sound when playing another source like bluray player, decoder, etc. ?
    5. Are all stakeholders affected or just some of them?

Please follow the steps in troubleshooting here.

  • 7.1 surround back speakers - str-dn1030 are considered "up front."

I bought the STR-DN1030 as a replacement for another amp 7.1 flaw. After you have connected, my Surround 7.1 Back speakers are treated as "high forehead.

I can set up as 5/2.1, but then the surround back speakers are calibrated correctly and have the height of output instead.

The test for this output tone labels 'high front.'

Shouldn't be able to choose 7.1 as my configuration option.

How can I fix this so that they properly Surround Back?

The assign SB setting is 'off '.

The front of the speakers before a selected device (no others are possible)

Honestly, the menu interface is clunky and non-intuitive. I spent a few hours without being able to understand. The non-geek consumer would be certainly more frustrated than i. spend two days on this make me rethink my choice of replacement.

    Hello Dan,.

Change to 3 speaker model / 4.1 then perform auto calibration.

  • question about cleaning the sensor of the A57

    Dear community of Sony,

I have several questions about the cleaning of the sensor of the A57.

Recently, I noticed several dark specs appearing on images when shooting at low opening (F20, F22), especially when there are high for them (like the sky in a landscape photo) contrast. To my knowledge, I've categorized as possible of dust on the sensor. I have read the section of the manual about cleaning the sensor and followed the procedure. However, the problem remained. I have previous experience with cleaning of the more resistant the probe of a Sony NEX dust particles, so I applied it to the A57. I used the specialized sensor cleaning tools combining two parts kit - wet and dry. Noted little dust on translucent mirror as well, so I cleaned up afterwards. Later, I considered this mirror could have some specialized coatings.

So my first question is: should I have done some permanent damage the mirror or the sensors? Currently, the camera works OK, although some features of dust still remain. It seems that I had pushed some of them to the edges of the sensor.

I'm not so happy with the tool that I used. I'm thinking about this one for a more thorough cleaning:

    http://www.digitaltoyshop.co.UK/Eyelead_sensor_cleaning_kit_SCK-1_Sony_Alpha_A57_t2836_6789

It is marketed as a tool for A57. Should I use it?

    Thank you in advance?

    Best regards Angel Marinov

PS: I'm really happy with my Sony A57 and the NEX. They made me a fan of Sony. So, I want to use this topic to also say thank you to the developers of Sony.

    Hello Angel!

  • Sony STR-DN1040 receiver help

I have a Sony STR-DN1040 receiver. I have my PC connected to the receiver and I can not get sound when I have an optical cable connected to my receiver. I have the cable plugged into OPT1 and cable HDMI plugged into Video 1 (note: my PC sends no audio through the HDMI, so I have to use the optical audio input). I got this Setup on my previous Onkyo receiver and everything worked perfectly. I have not changed the PC settings so everything on this end should always be configured correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Andy

You can reassign the DIGITAL to other entries input jacks, if the default settings of the sockets do not match your own equipment.  The default assignment of OPT1 (where you plugged in your PC) is SAT/CATV and which could be the reason why there is no audio coming out of your receiver, even if the PC is out the digital signal.

Try to set OPT1 to VIDEO1 under [A. ASSIGN] assignment of digital audio menu. Follow the steps below

    1 press AMP MENU

The menu is displayed on the notice board of the receiver.

2 go all the way to Input settings]]

3 select digital audio input assignment [A. ASSIGN]

    4 the value OPT1 VIDEO 1

See page 86 to 87 of the manual provided for more information on the assignable audio input jacks.

  • STR-DN1030 can't make Airplay connect to my iphone or ipad?

    Hello

I've only had this receiver a month or two, and there has been a few occasions where I had success with it, but most of the time if I try to use my iphone (4 s) or (3) to disseminate with airplay, it connects to the receiver.

It seems 'try' every time, as my phone change controls temporarily (volume slider moves, music playback may stop sometimes but not others and icon airplay on changes in white with orange sometimes phone) but no music of the alembic of amp, and it then just stop trying.  Even after 20 attempts on a given ios device, it does not work with airplay.

I have a very good wifi signal in my house and also the receiver is connected to a gigabit LAN so avoid any problem with connectivity like that if it is used in this process (guessing airplay may directly amp phone?).

Any suggestions I can try?  Network streaming works ok, but it's much more tedious so I not really bother.

Another question - a UK client, my amp doesn't have Bluetooth and I'm really gutted that I only discovered this after buying.  I REALLY want this feature, so please could someone explain to me why you miss on bluetooth, simply because we are in England?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Cretster,

What is the router that you use, and is the firmware updated?

Some routers may have a time difficult, send and receive information for network broadcast even though you mentioned that the DLNA works very well.

The same thing happens with any Android or Windows based OS?

IOS devices are updated to the latest firmware on the Apple site?

Two iOS devices trying to connect the receiver at the same time when you use Airplay?

When you have these problems, iOS devices still show the STR-DN1030 as an adjustable device for Airplay streaming, or the device disappears it?

You mentioned that the STR-DN1030 is connected to a LAN Gigabit Ethernet. You have connected the device directly to the router? If this isn't the case, then is it possible?

You can reply back with them questions so that we can consider the situation further, or if my post answered your question, please mark it as an "acceptable Solution".

    Thank you.

  • Issue of Sony STR - DN1040 output HDMI Samsung UN60F8000BFXZA TV

    Hello community of Sony,

I have a question of a Samsung UN60F8000BFXZA TV HDMI Sony STR-DN1040 output.  I have a cable Xfinity RNG110 box and a Samsung Blue Ray BD-F5900 connected via HDMI 1.4 cables I have HDMI 1.4 cables connecting all devices.  I had the GeekSquad install TV and set up the Sony A / V receiver.  Everththing was working fine.  I turned off the system for a few hours and came back and turned on everything.  Initial configuration is A / V HDMI's out to TV input HDMI3.  HDMI input and output supports CRA.  The TV would constantly check your connection to the device.  No video just a black screen.  Power cycle sometimes or reinstall the cables could clarify the issue.  Same problem you select, the cable box or the player blue ray, as input device...  I swapped the HDMI cable from the upper area of the rec AV cable and the cable to the AV rec on television.  No change in symptoms.  I even hooked up the TV to the AV HDMI B outupt with no change in symptoms.  I directly connect the cable box to TV without problems.  I get video every time.  I'm afraid I see many messages from simular 'video problem' on the receiver AV STR-DN1040.  The two TV and AV receiver have been purchased this week.  What should be the next steps?  I have the Geek Squad back to verify that I may have a problem of AV receiver.

    Cheers, Oakleyrider

  • Where and how do I ask questions about Email?

The Commission opening thingy is complicated, I have trouble finding my way around it.  I don't know where or how questions about email.  Is there an easier way than trawling through all these icons?  Like a list or something - as you get on all other forums on the internet?

It would be a good starting point: Mac mini

  • Many questions about the HP 50 g

I just ordered a HP 50 g graphic calculator! I have a few questions about this so hang on tight! What is the USB connector on the calculator? Mini-USB, micro USB, or is it a connector owner, "custom". Then, it would be possible to connect a keyboard to the HP 50 g by using the USB Port? Is there a program that would make this possible? (I doubt it would work if you plug it..) I have a Mini-USB to female USB 2.0 connector. So I could just plug the keyboard right, provided that the port on the calculator is a Mini-USB Port. If this is not so that I could use my female to female USB adaptor to connect the keyboard.

  • Question about warranty after exchanges of RAM on Satellite module series

    Hello together,

I have a question about the warranty. My laptop is 5 months old and now I want to improve it with more RAM. I want to do it myself, and now I'm wondering if the warranty will be getting hurt.
Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Concerning

    TiG3r

For new models of laptops the RAM upgrade described in s operating manuals. It is public act and it shows the owner of the notebook how do RAM upgrade only.

If Toshiba offers something like this he won't have the negative influence of valid warranty.
Buy a compatible module and RAM upgrade.

    Bye and good luck!
