  Usually with the Adobe software, you can have several versions on the same machine without problem - if the prior release is maintaining your choice.

  And if you install an upgraded version on a different machine from the previous version, you must enter the serial number of the old product when you install the new software, is everything.

• Firefox started running slow about 3 Mbit/s on the same machine that is running to about 6 Mbps, reinstalled firefox twice, but no improvement.

  I have a mini-tower with windows OS computer using the Firefox browser, it started to run slowly, 3Mbps, while on the same machine using for example the download speed is about 6 Mbps, which is what I used to get with Firefox.   You can use the same SID, but this is not recommended (as long as you can use a different port pool). The best practice is to have a different name to SID and the pool of different port, so it will not come into conflict with the existing instance. Also, make sure you have enough resources on those servers (cloning off-production to the same machine, where the production is running is not a good practice).

  Other proceedings continued would be impossible (as you said, because of human error, and in case the server restart is required). Even if they provide more resources it would be a conflict over shared resources (for example, what happens if a process on the test instance consuming all CPU/memory resources?).

  Each instance will have its own entries in the registry and this shouldn't be a problem.

  Usually, if you buy a version upgrade, you will need to have only the upgrade on the machine. But as you have two full licenses I think you may have at the time.
