2013 office under Windows 8 / 8.1 and HP Laserjet 1020

Yes. A post more on this subject. But I want to mention that I did a lot of research already and it does not solve my problem because my driver / printer properties a different aspect.

The problem I have is exactly the same as described here:

http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/printing-issues-troubleshooting/printer-driver-hangs-when-printing-with...

Whenever I try to print something office 2013 simply, it crashes.

But the thing is that my printer properties do not have the same options that you can see the screenshot here:

http://www.infinitconsulting.com/2013/12/Office-crashing-printing-HP-printers/

It has all the tabs except the tab device settings. That's why I can not turn off the printer status Notification

Someone suggested to download the HP scrubber tool. Unfortunately, the page no longer exists, so I'm being transferred to a search page.

http://www.techieshelp.com/office-2013-crashes-when-printing-to-HP-printers/

I don't have the original CD more. I bought this printer, probably in 2009 or even earlier.

Can someone please help with this problem please?

Hi, I finally get it to work. I had to install first as a local printer and I tried to print from MS Word and it worked.
And after that, I was able to install it as a network printer too.

Thank you.

  • IE is slow, hangs in Google, will run Firefox under Windows 7 with speed and security?

I'm not very tech savy English so good please. I have a desktop Dell Studio with Intel 2 Quad Processer. I have used IE for 15 years and more. Started using Google Chrome for speed and better security about 6 months without any problem. Shortly after the beginning of the year Chrome started crashing every day and from 1/14 he broke the 10-12 times a day. I don't like losing stuff and having to stop, re - load, raise or re-store that Chrome was more than that was working properly.

Will Firefox work in my system operating system. I loan on your security, password protection and other things that are touted on your website on Firefox, but I'm mostly concerned about accidents and what are the causes. Is the problem in my own system and not questions of brower?

  • Former installation problem program under Windows 7 64-bit

I installed the 64-bit Windows 7, but I need to run some old software, for which I have a CD. (Actually I think it is 16-bit. Well, I know it's a dinosaur, but this is my situation.) Naturally, setup.exe is also 16-bit (perhaps 32 bits, but I doubt it). There is a shortcut to setup.exe on my desk, by double-clicking on it, I get this message:

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. Check your computer's system information to see if you need a x 86 (32 bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher.

He ran very well under Windows XP 32-bit, and I don't remember doing something special for 16 bit then; I know that much. (I'm sure I'd remember something special like that, if I had). Microsoft program compatibility issues resolution isn't going anywhere.

How do I enter a 32-bit emulator environment and double-click the shortcut (or setup.exe itself) from there?

If you have an eligible version of W7, you may be able to get the program running in XPMode or install Virtual Box and if you run an old copy of XP or W7 32-bit (assuming it's free with a free license, etc.) in that.

Yes. There is no problem with their two different versions of
Windows. The files contain not what anyone who still marks that
Windows version they were created under.

But there is a potential problem. If the files have been created with a
another version of Office that you have, you may have
Difficulty reading the. For example, Word 2007 and 2010 creates .docx
files by default (unless you tell her save as .doc) and if you
an earlier version of Word, you will not be able to open a .docx file
unless you install the compatibility pack to

  • Security for the family (Windows 8) started blocking * some * 2013 Office apps (Word, PowerPoint)... but he used to work.

I'm having this same problem, and would be grateful for the help.

I have a laptop Windows 8 with 2013 Office installed. I put no administrator accounts for all members of the family except me and turned on Family Safety, blocking all applications except those approved by me. It was all working well for about a year, until very recently (maybe 2 months ago).

One day, the wife and children reported Family Safety started MS Word it blocks all their user (non-administrator) accounts. And this will happen * after * the application was already started for a minute or two! (I don't know what has changed, or if there was a Windows update that has just occurred, etc.). Word would be arrested, and invite him to the dialog box asking permission ("my mother is here... ") appeared. Enter the correct credentials admin does not help, and Word does not start with the subsequent launches. I repeat the question now.

    Other comments/symptoms:

-Word and PowerPoint are blocked, but Excel has worked well.
-All 2013 office applications work fine on the admin account.
-Parental control settings are correct (I quintuple checked now).
-Disable the parental control completely to any non-administrator user account allows applications Office work very well on this account.
-Create a new user account not administrator for... This test also the same problem.
-In the course of running Windows Update (to date) and reboot... no change.
-Don't search other discussions of the forum... no joy or solutions:

Help! Word is the program children use more and disabling all parental control so they can use it is really back & broken.

    Thanks in advance

I still have the same problem as John.  I tried all the remedies, including this Court, but nothing seems to work.   Family Safety blocks even MS Word.

    Hey Wolfe Pack.

I have not tried the suggestion of Winston to remove all files for the parental control settings again. Did you?

In short, this is what I tried in the place, which seems to have helped:

In the admin account, I opened the dialog box to manage parental controls for a child's account settings. Then clicking on the link to the installer apps are allowed. I chose "X can only use apps that I leave" and then at the bottom right you click the box 'disable all' to deselect all applications.

I have logged on to the child's account, then launched the word and allowed him ("my mother is here... ") before any other apps or background allowing deals who wanted permission to run. Launched Word then OK. Then, in various other applications were to be used and popped up, I allowed, too. It's annoying because it meant a lot of Bing and type the admin password for everything that I wanted to use or that runs in the background, but seems not have allowed Word to run again.

This could end up being identical to what Winston has proposed (by deleting all files, effectively erasing all parameters). I'll see how it goes. Let us know if you try it.
