The power button flashes. No other lights are on.  I can not turn off the printer.

    Hello Laureldawn,

I see this is your first visit with us here on the Forums of HP. Please, let me take a moment to say 'Welcome. '

I have some suggestions that we can try when troubleshooting flashing lights on the printer.

First of all, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and NOT a bar/power strip.

Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer for example, but it is intended to be used by HP products in general.  This document explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

Another step we can try is the document the Treaty of lights flash.

Please let me know whether or not these measures have helped.

If I don't hear from you today, I hope you have a great Wednesday.

    See you soon,.

  • P1005: Incompatible printer power button

I love my HP P1005 printer, but lately, the power button does not turn it until I have tap several times, sometimes in angling of my pressure upwards, downwards or sideways.  Still, it lights up eventually and stays on until closing down.  Is there a way to fix this?

    Hi @Breezer,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are having problems on power button on your HP LaserJet P1005 Printer. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. I can understand how frustrating, it would be for you. Looks like there is a short circuit in the power button connection or a lack of power in general.

I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.

    • Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector. This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.
    • Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

If you have completed the previous steps and your product still has a problem, service the product.

Contact HP for service in all countries except Asia-Pacific.
First, check your product warranty to check your warranty printer status and then go to contact HP support to find an authorized dealer or to schedule a repair.

  • Power button broken bike e

Unfortunately my just power button stopped working today. good news is I found a temporary solution.

    According the room store download:

    1 screen off and lock

    2 auto screen on...

Screen off and lock will create a power button on your home screen that will help you to turn off the screen.

Screen-auto will help you activate your screen by tapping twice on the proximity sensor. (the g-sensor proximity sensor switch)

If your screen is off right now, simply plug in charger and get these applications as soon as POSSIBLE.

I hope that this will be a temporary relief

Tap the screen On / off by the khanh ly seems to support both ignitions and extinctions and seems good. I just downloaded and I'll let you know how it is

  • P1102 - why I have to press the power button before printing

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone else knows how to avoid this problem. We have a P1102 connected via USB on Win 7 64 bit.

Is there a setting somewhere that allows us to not have to press the power button on the printer before printing. It is now connected to the pc. The pc is turned off at night.

It is very annoying to have to push the button before printing. This may sound trivial, but our old Hp laserjet 1100, only has been replaced with this P1102 as the new pc have no place for a parallel port card, and you never had to press the power button before printing with that, this feels like a step and is very disappointing.

    Thanks in advance.

It seems that the printer software is not save the auto power off feature is set to never.  I would definitely try update the internal firmware of the printer to see if updating automatic stop is set to never work.

Click here to access the download page for the Laserjet Firmwares.  Select the P1100 series in the drop-down list.

This should be done so that a USB cable to connect the printer and the PC.  I would like to know if the firmware is able to get the printer to stay alive.

  • Monitor power button stuck or broken

1908FP 2407WFP and probably many other models

I have 7 or more Dell monitors and just got my first broken power button today. After disassemble and see the very fragile plastic piece, I am happy that I regularly let sleep instead of using the button. The 10-cent plastic piece is made very thin and flexible, and the actual switch is not directly behind the button (they are all other buttons), but moved to the side to make room for a LED. For this, the plastic, the button bow severely whenever it's pressed. In my case, the button has lasted a few years before the tabs broke the key at both ends showing how fragile, it had become. Firm pressure could probably break it even when new. Because the tabs are so small, the only realistic "repair" is to remove the broken button, use something to push the switch and allow him to sleep. The button band could easily be replaced if only someone could sell them.

    tclarke,

We have a monitor of components such as the power button. Simply, we replace all under warranty. You might find someone on ebay selling components to monitor.

Battery removed etc, but also without success...

Someone knows how to fix this or is something broken?

    Best regards

    Hello

Try disabling the startup of Windows 10 hybrid - you can do the following.

Open settings and select System.  Select food and sleep, and then click additional power settings - in the next window, click on "Choose what the power button" in the left pane.

In the next window, click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable" (close), then Remove the check mark from the box against 'Turn on a quick start (recommended) '.  Click on the button Save the settings, and then close open windows and stop the laptop by right clicking on the icon from the Start Menu, select prompt (Admin) and click 'Yes' to the uac prompt.

Type (or copy and paste) the following command (including spaces) and click Enter.

    Shutdown /s /t 0

Start the laptop and let Windows take over completely for a few minutes before checking if she will now disable correctly.

If this has fixed the problem, it may be useful by turning the quick start back on - sometimes simply remove and re-create the file will solve the problem.

    Kind regards

  • my ipod 5 does not light, I am of the view the home and power button down for 10 to 30 seconds, but my home button is stuck or at least does not, what should I do?

so I have my button home broken for some time, not only does not respond as broken in the iPod so I couldn't press it or anything. It is only today that my iPod will not turn back. I normally would just hold the home button and the power button for some and things would turn out right away but now I can't use my home button so I'm stuck without options. I left that he plugged for a while but still nothing. I tried to clean the home button. So what should I? get a new home button or just get an upgrade anyway.

You could bring to the Apple store and let them to evaluate it. If an upgrade is financially feasible, I would recommend that you're not just fixing the home button will help. Also note that if you do any repairs on the iPod it will void your warranty (if you have one.)
