  I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

  Method 1:

  Run the scan tool (SFC) System File Checker and check if it helps.

  This problem may occur if a system file is missing or damaged.

  You try to install it on a Windows machine? If so be sure to download the windows installer, which is an executable.

  Each manufacturer is different things about the recovery partition.  You need to contact the computer manufacturer (online - they can publish procedures - or by telephone) for instructions on how to use the recovery disk (there are probably a combination of special keys at boot that activates the process).  Keep in mind that this type of resettlement will completely eliminate your primary system partition, so don't forget to backup your important data until you try it.

• Updated Manual of the Add - ons in FF29 does not work

  To manually check updates in all: addons hangs (does nothing) - expected five minutes. I confirmed this behavior by doing the same thing in Mode safe. In the past, at least I would at least get any found updates (if there is not). Modules for automatic update checked or unchecked has no effect on this behavior.

  Auto update on my Windows XP (SP3) checks every day, then trying to download and install the updates above that are for Vista and Win 7 systems. If I try to download and install manually, the XP machine has no idea about mail file ".msu" on these updates. My PC tried to install these on a daily basis since July 11, 2012.

  KB2655992 and KB2698365 are also updated in security for Windows XP. I suggest to perform the clean boot, download and install the updates from the Download Center.
