2710 - line Port Audio?

I have a Dell XPS 2710 all-in-one.  I plan on the conversion of a large number of lps vinyl to CD/mp3s.  So-called for the sound in the computer, I need to connect to the audio LINE IN port on the computer. However, I can't seem to find a. The audio ports, only that I see are the port of speaker output and microphone input port. And instructions on the equipment I use specifically state not to use the microphone port, because it is a mono port, has the wrong impedance and thus will produce its ugly.

Then I missing something here, or is the port of microphone on this computer designed in such way that it will work fine for my needs?

Thanks for your help, Ken

Hi Ken,

Don't know what deck you have, but most of them have a stereo output called level phone, not the line signal necessary to intervene directly in a PC higher level. How to accomplish the audio connection to the PC is with a little preamp, which many now come with a USB port for connection to the PC. this article has some information about the available options.

  • Green vertical lines / tracks audio FX of detachment and the music of the video clip

    iMovie 10.1 on El Capitan

This isn't a simple modification / detach Audio edition.  Is delete an image only without deleting the other independent music and audio tracks FX built under it (not worth original audio with the image).

I built FX and music tracks on a video that has many Visual changes (with some images just by music).  Now, I want to change a few images, but when I cut the video image, some FX and music under it also disappears (tracks built under the image, not shot with it).

It seems that green vertical lines under the picture (in the time line) are tying in various capacities, although these FX and music tracks run far beyond the video image and were not turned with the video image.

How can I remove those green vertical lines and detach these multiple audio tracks of the image I want to cut?  Thank you.

Yes, if you delete a video file or even attached with audio clip, the audio will be deleted also.  You must move the anchor (green line) to an adjacent element.  To do this hold command and alt (option) key down and click on in the half superior audio clip (or in the clip of Cup or title) where you want the connection be moved on.

(If there is no synchronization issues you can simply change the audio if it is related to another clip, and then quarterback after the change of the image.)

  • How to enable microphone AND line-in audio to record at the same time?

    How to mix the two?

It depends on your hardware chipset and driver of the company that built your audio system.  Really, we need to know precisely what audio card/driver type and the name of the template that you use to tell you what capabilities it has (assuming that this information is available from the manufacturer).

  • Material RANE/Serato SL2 SL3 SL4 Core Audio Port problem with El Capitan

    Hi Apple,

I and many others have had problems when using devices with Rane Serato DJ software where the breaks down of software, nor will we get audio drop-outs and crashes.
(Audio Interface) device that I use is RANE SL3.

MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inches, end of 2013)

    Version: 10.11.2 (15 c 50)

    Intel Core i7 2.8 GHz

    16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

    Iris 1536 MB Intel

    1 TB SSD

Serato have updated their software (1.8.1) to take in charge the last OX El Capitan (10.11.2) and announced that the problem is with the drivers of RANE and Serato not.

See Site for more information: https://support.serato.com/hc/en-us/articles/213821528

RANE said its now a problem with Apple and is a Port Audio problem. Please see their announcement about the update of BEEF: http://dj.rane.com/support/knowledge-base/el-capitan-update

This is the Forum for discussion with RANE, saying they are awaiting your response on fixing this problem.

    here: http://dj.rane.com/support/knowledge-base/el-capitan-update

Rane suggested only that downgrade us our BONES to the Mavericks or Yosemite. This should not be the case!

We need answers, and for not having spent somebody else as everyone pushes the blame.

Please you can find what the solution is rather then downgraded to a previous operating system. It's a very frustrating with all the people who spent loads of money on a Macbook and RANE hardware especially this time of the year where we DJs play every weekend like our jobs.

    Hope this gets sorted soon

  • Audio input/output ports Thinkpad Mini Dock Plus Series 3 with inactive W520

I have 3 laptops W520 and 3 Thinkpad Mini Dock Plus Series 3 docks. The audio 1/8 "output audio and MIC ports are not detected by Windows. In the sound settings, the high definition Audio Device is always disconnected. I read that there was a problem with background sound via ports audio on an earlier execution of these docks, but the production on these date are all 11/07 (after Lenovo solved the problem). Someone had a similar problem? The ports are inactive for the W520 by design?

Solution:... drivers. Should have checked that first. I thought that our support office would have done that. I thought wrong.

  • DVI-HDMI with AUDIO

I am trying to connect my new Pavilion p7-1240 to my HDTV but do not have a HDMI port on my new computer. After doing some research I'm to mix signals about whether or not a DVI to HDMI cable will carry audio. I just called Radio Shack and they are salesman told me that the AVIO HDMI to DVI cable carries the audio. However further research says that it is not.

I would appreciate another opinion if you please. Bewilderment of a seller a week is enough. Thank you!

    Hello

    1. the standard DVI carries only video, standard HDMI carries both video and audio.
    2. DVI to HDMI converter adapter / (no need to convert) carries video only.
    3. you need a cable to carry the audio from your laptop to your TV. They can sell a combined adapter, but it must get out of the 2 ports on your laptop: DVI port for video and headphones or line out audio port.

    Kind regards.

  • Where to connect an external audio source Qosmio F20?

    Hi people,

This is the first time I try to connect an audio source (minidisc player) and listen to the recording on this subject by the Qosmio. The same thing has been done many times on the desktop-PC - cable LINE IN of the sound card and everything is OK - sound is audible and I can record or mix it on the PC.

Unfortunately, the Qosmio seems to have only Mic-Line-In and audio entry it is not through the PA system. This means that I have to by a separate PCMCIA-soundcard to use its line?

I would gladly appreciate any idea!

Unfortunately, Yes. The Qosmio does not support line-in audio ports, and so you will not be able to capture audio signals.

Seems you have to buy an external PCMCIA sound card that supports the line-in port

  • My audio is on the Audio Digital (S/PDIF), and I have NO SOUND.

The problem is started when installing windows 7 on my desktop, or when installing a new audio or video card I'm not positive exactly when it started to happen. But all of a sudden the audio device only I got was Audio Digital (S/PDIF), which in fact did nothing.

I figured out how to get the speakers on my monitor to work, I plugged the speaker cable into the port 'in line', blue and stakeholders have worked.  The cord is green light... the port is blue... it doesn't look right, it seems that it should be in the green port right? But it does not work like that.

Anyway if I plug the monitor or headphones on in blue 'line' port it affects my speakers 'Speakers' "high definition Audio Device".  And I have audio.

But I need to have a microphone that works as well for a class I have. But when I plug the headphones that it doesn't work, it doesn't recognize the microphone or even acknowledge that I plugged anything.  The helmet part works by plugging in 'line' port, but the microphone does not work.  He said that the recording device is set to Audio Digital (S/PDIF) and nothing else is listed in Device Manager.

I have seen this problem posted elsewhere and I followed a lot of steps, I tried to download drivers realtek, windows update, update drivers for my Nvidia graphics card, and I even download Everest to be sure of my Audio device. It's what came SigmaTel STAC9220 A1 @ Intel 82801 GB ICH7 - High Definition Audio Controller [a-1].  The link to update the drivers was useless, but I looked online and found one on the site of Dell, he said it was for Sigma Tel STAC92XX... which should include mine.  I downloaded it, rebooted, and all of a sudden I got no. AUDIO DEVICE AT ALL.  Windows said I had no sound, and he tried to install the drivers, although I'm sure that I had done that we found my Sigma Tel Audio Controller.  Windows cannot install the, then suddenly he tried again and said it was successful.  But I'm right back where I started, still consider the Audio Digital (S/PDIF) is my recorder, speakers do not work unless it is plugged into the blue port in 'line '.   Nothing has changed...

If anyone can help please let me know. I appreciate it.

It happened to me, I just unplug and reconnect the plug and she is back to normal

  • Should what audio interface I buy for hearing CC?

    Hello

I read a lot of these discussions, and you all seem very knowledgeable and willing to help noobs like me. I'm sure that you are tired of this issue because of the multitude of variables, but I'm looking to purchase an audio interface and I was wondering if you could offer some suggestions based on my needs, I'll try to describe in detail below.

I just bought a Windows laptop, 10, with three USB 3.0 ports. I have Adobe Audition CC 2015 running on this issue, with errors [does not] does not happen when I click accidentally behind the multitrack to change the display too fast, or when I'm not wise in my use of the FX. What I can say, I'm learning!

I intend to use Reaper to program the MIDI via USB cable directly tracks from a Roland TD11 and a Korg Triton Extreme to the laptop. I will then restore these files to WAVs in uncompressed and export it to the hearing.

My typical workflow is solo titles layers, so I prefer to use the minimum amount of the strings and just spent the instruments, due to lack of space. I would like the ability to record at least 2 instruments at the same time however, in the case where the musicians invited stop. I don't plan to record live bands.

These are the instruments that I use:

-e-battery (it's possible I'll lines of audio recording in addition to MIDI tracks described above)

-keyboard (same as e-battery, almost certainly will use as input line audio and MIDI)
-Acoustic/electric guitar (I'll save variously in line or miked depending on what sounds better)
-Acoustic/electric bass (line in most of the time, I guess)
    -lap steel guitar (line)
    -banjo, ukulele (mic)
    -singing (mic)
    -various percussion (mic) hand

The only possible output I think I would need to interface is for helmets; I've lined up out of the laptop to a pair of speakers to test mixtures.

In research on the interfaces, I stumbled on the MOTU UltraLite-mk3, which seems to take the load on the processor. Do you think it would be a good option?
In fact I don't understand why you would need the 6 outputs however. They are all for monitors? I'm not clear on the difference between the level of the line, instrument, Hi-Z and these combined inch jacks XLR/quarter.

Thank you for taking the time to read my it is true that the application of quicksand! I appreciate your expertise and advice that you care to offer.

    Best regards
    Sarah

MOTU make excellent interfaces, as do other companies mentioned by SuiteSpot.

The extra thought only I can offer is having only 2 microphone inputs would be a bare minimum and could become a limiting factor, if one of your guests musicians drop - you can, for example, records things like an acoustic stereo while something is happening.  I would consider putting additional money going MOTU would cost in an interface with 4 + mic.  Yet once, there is a certain choice.

Or, for a direction totally different, since your goal is to have as many things as possible plugged in and ready to go, I heard yesterday on the new console Soundcraft Signature 12 MTK (Soundcraft Signature 12 MTK ) which would keep things hip as well set up headphone mixes and monitor mixes easy.

  • Satellite Pro L850 audio plays through 1 headset only

I'm running the Pro L850 PSKG9A-009001 phone, which is a little over 3 months out of the box and the first audio went well when the headphones are connected. A few weeks ago, this changed, and now when I plug in my headset I get only audio through the headphone output A: I tried different pairs of headphones with the same result. When I use the headset in other devices, they work perfectly. What is important audio plays in stereo through the speakers of the laptop when there is no headset connected.

I tried to reinstall the audio drivers realtek of the cd included, but can't find, and driver updates on the toshiba site. I also checked to make sure that this isn't a question of settings and I am unable to find a cause. I really wish I could hear the sound of the two channels and after trying everything I can think and isolate the question rightly the audio input jack; the feeling that there could be a problem of dry solder on the audio output jack.

But I thought I was opening the issue to see if anyone has any ideas, I didn't think, who can quickly resolve the question, before I look at the supposed long process a warranty claim.

I agree with you. This problem may be related to the port, audio output, especially if there is no problem with the internal speakers and if they do not work properly.
Let's see which will show the other people about it, but what you can do now is to contact the nearest service provider of Toshiba, to explain the situation and ask for help.

  • Tecra A4 Audio Jack sizes

    Hi all

I recently bought a Tecra A4. My plug stereo audio 3.5 mm (that I used with my laptop computer players and previous music) can not get into the audio jack of the Tecra. There seems to be a sort of "obstruction" in decision-making.

I've had the laptop returned during the initial period of 14 days. However, the laptop next sent me has had the same problem.

Could someone please advise me on what's going on?

    See you soon
    Khim.

    Hello Khim

I'm really confused with the description of your problem. AFAIK all laptops have the same dimension of audio input jack (the same standard audio port). I put t know what laptop, you had before, but there is no difference. Important is that audio is well inserted in the port audio (jack whole). Right now, it will work correctly.

I tried my helmet in many other portable (various manufacturers) in my office and it works perfectly.

    Good bye
