3110CT: can I upgrade the memory?

I tried running Win2000 but found that start up two BONES and some applications like Outlook are often terrible long. It seems that the RAM is too small (I have max 128MB installed) and it is constantly during the start up disk access.

Some applications are also very slow with constant disk access. I think that more directly accessible memory could solve the problem.
No there is no way to install more RAM?
Is it possible to enlarge the direct memory card via PCMCIA or USB or any other interface.

Is there perhaps another solution to my problem of slow 2000 victory?

Thank you very much in advance for any advice.
/ bjolen

the memory is upgradeble to 192 MB max with a 128 MB module

the 3110 is a cute little sub-notebook, but of course with this kind of memory and a p2 300 mhz processor it will never win a contest of speed.
However my own 3110 with W2k is not very fast, but not annoyingly slow

Check your settings in memory of W2k (right click on 'my computer' etc.) to make sure that your swap file is correctly configured

I'm afraid you need to be a little patient or buy a modern and much faster portege as Te R100

Upgrading RAM is possible but the graphics card is unable to be updated!

The A60 supports 512MB internal memory and it is so that one memory slot where the extra RAM module can be inserted.

  • Equium A60 runs unstable - how can I upgrade the memory?

I have a friend visit me who has an Equium A60 which is very unstable when she runs multiple applications. I checked and it has only 192 MB of RAM. Can be increased and if so how much. How many slots are there on this machine?

She is currently in the USA and I checked on Toshiba USA website and cannot find this PC is listed, so it should only be sold in Europe. It would be useful if someone could tell me what kind of memory it takes so I could look for it here. She is a student and in great need of a stable computer for his studies.

Thanks a lot for all the help in advance.

    Hello

Of course you can upgrade the memory.
I guess you have only 192 MB memory main because the laptop came with 256 MB internal memory and the 64 MB are shared by the graphics card! This is why only 192 MB are free.

Anyway, as I said the laptop came with 256 MB internal and memory is not removable.
So only one slot is expandable!
If you can upgrade the memory for max 1280MB (256 MB + 1024 MB)

    You can use the modules:
    PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 1 M 25)
    PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
    1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)

Do you know where is the crack?

The slot is placed at the bottom of the device! The cover is fixed with a screw.
Remove this screw and you will be able to open the slot and improve memory.

PS; I think that upgrading memory is described in the manual of Toshiba that was preinstalled on your laptop.
Alternatively, you can download this manual from the page of Tosh

  • Can I upgrade the memory of my Labtop (g6-2286se Pavilion)

    I recently bought a HP pavilion g6-2286se.

It has 6 GB of ram (1 x 4 + 1 x 2), I can improve by taking the 2 GB ram & him substituting an another 4 GB of ram?

    Hello

You laptop will support 8 GB - IE 2 x 4 GB modules.

It is usually best to upgrade using corresponding modules, but if you want, you should be able to just install another 4 GB module - you can use an application such as CPU-Z to find the specifications of your existing module (the relevant details can be found under the memory and Spd tabs) or an automated System Scanner.

Ram installation procedure can be found on Page 55 of your & Maintenance Guide.

  • Can I upgrade the memory up to 3 GB on Satellite A300-145

    Hi all.

I want to upgrade memory in my Toshiba A300-145.
Now I have 1 GB database model and I want to buy the 2 GB memory module and so memory to 3 GB.
Official specs says the upgrade is possible only at 2 GB.

Question: laptop will see 3 GB of ram or not?

    Hello

It depends on the chipset is installed in your laptop.

The laptop with the Intel GM965 chipset supports max 4 GB of RAM but the A300 with the Intel GL960 supports 2 GB RAM max.

So check your chipset and you will call if theRAM can be improved up to 3 GB or 4 GB.

The HP Pavilion dv6500z is a unit CTO (Custom To Order) so it depends on how much RAM (memory) that was installed when the unit was purchased.  The maximum RAM you can install for this machine is 4096 MB (4 GB) through two SODIMM 2 GB DDR2 667 memory modules (5300) 200 pins.  How much RAM do you have?  How many modules is currently in use?

  • Is it useful to upgrade the memory on the Satellite M70 - 394?

Is it useful to upgrade the memory on the Satellite M70 - 394? Where the best place to buy it and what I should go for? How will this affect my laptop? It will void the warranty at all?

    Sorry for so many questions

    Hello

First of all it s worth it to upgrade the memory for portable computers. The increases in performance and the operating system should work better and faster.
Well, I checked a few websites, and it seems that it is possible to upgrade the memory on this laptop to max 2048 MB (2x1024Mo)

As far as I know the laptop came with a 512 MB module. In this case, the second Bank is empty. The memory location is placed at the bottom of the unit. If you want to upgrade the memory to remove the slot cover down and carefully insert the module. I think you'll find instruction how to handle the upgrade memory in the user manual.

In addition, you can order the compatible modules form the Toshiba service partner. In this case, you will be sure that you have taken in charge to 100% and compatible modules.

Can I replace the memory and not to lose what's on the memory of the former?  I have a Mid 2007, 20 "desktop Mac, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GHz processor, 1 CPU, 4 MB L2 cache, 4 GB of memory, 800 MHz bus speed.  I have a backup device.  A RAM slot is damaged.

You are confused of RAM and disk space available.

RAM stores information temporarily while the Mac is enabled and the application is reached. RAM replacement has no effect on the long term of your information storage.

The hard drive is where your information is stored in the long term. If you replace your hard drive, you need restore the information from a backup.

FYI, for your iMac, the maximum RAM is only 6 GB.

  • How can I enable the memory remapping in BIOS on the Satellite A100-192

    Hello!
How can I enable the memory remapping in BIOS (5.90) on my laptop?

    Thank you.

    Hello

It seems a problem with the Microsoft 32-bit Windows operating system.

    Please check this:
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB7601WE0007R01.htm

    You can find this info:

    _Issue: _
I put in the memory 2x2gb in my book * and the BIOS * and the operating system is worth about 3 GB

    _Solution: _
This is a limitation of the 32-bit system.
System resources need of addressing which overlaps physical memory below 4 GB.
These requirements can reduce available addressable memory space to and reported by the operating system
