32-bit to 64-bit OEM

Hello

Recently I got fed up with 32-bit Vista Home Premium and it is the restriction of 3 GB of RAM (I have a video card that has memory 1024Mo-is not dedicated). Anyway, I wrote an email to my manufacturer because my reasearch it says OEM versions are not eligible for the support, I asked them if they could provide me with a Vista Home Premium 64 bit DVD (ISO-if possible) and they have not responded to this date. I was wondering if this forum could help me?

Thanks in advance

Thanks, I guess that the ill just stick with 32 bit, I can't afford an upgrade or anything like that.

Hey Olivier bouamrane

happy to help you

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to upgrade

It requires a clean install with a full version of 64-bit

I'm sorry for the bad news regarding having to buy it because of your oem license

and if you were to go to 64-bit in the future, it would be wiser to go for windows 7 64 bit, because there are more favorable reports on windows 7 over vista

    Hello

You will need to check with eMachines to see if Vista 64-bit drivers are available for this model:

And to use the 64 bit OS properly you should at least have 4GBs of RAM

Several years ago, I bought a laptop with Vista 32 bit OEM.  Sometimes the in ' 08 the laptop broke and I would like to use ot that copy of Vista for a new desktop computer I own now.  I need to be 64-bit, however.  Is the license vista 32-bit to 64-bit transferable and I am allowed to install on my new machine since I use only use one license per machine?  I never changed any material in this laptop and have not used the license for any other machine since the.  What would be involved in the use of this license for installing vista 64 bit on my new desktop PC and would it be legal to do?

No, an OEM license is not transferable to the other machine.

    Seansnr

    Hi Seansnr,

First of all, if you buy a copy of Windows Vista OEM, make sure that the DVD is the company that allows a computer.  An OEM Dell DVD won't work on a HP or gateway and vice versa.

Personally, if I had to buy it I insist on a DVD and not from someone who says they can install for a fee, and then provide would not buy any media where you will need to re - install in the future.

You could also buy a copy of the sale at retail of Windows Vista, or order an OEM DVD from the manufacturer of your computer.  They can also provide one for a low cost, if it wasn't origionally came with the computer.

If you are interested in a copy retail, they may be ordered and even downloaded directly from Microsoft.

  • Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit (OEM version) 0xc004f050 error code.

I have a machine running Vista ultimate 32 bit and decided to add it to windows 7 ultimate 64-bit (OEM) using a new hard drive with the operating system so that I can dual boot drive (or OS).

I did this so that I could benefit from 8 GB of installed RAM, of which only 64-bit acknowledges.

The first instalation of Win.7 was bugged with accidents frequent 'blue screen' and programs no longer responds. All updates have been installed, but I was not happy with the performance and decided to do a clean reinstall.

I formatted the disk and progressed to reinstal win.7.
The problem started when I had to activate the registration key; -a code 0xC004f050 appears with the comment that the product key is not valid.

I then tried the phone option, a somewhat laborious procedure of type a string of numbers to validate. This has not worked, although I checked the numbers were correct. The call was redirected to someone somewhere in India, judging from the accent, which gave me a new registration key.
Needless to say that this new key did not work either, with the same result as the original.

I phoned a 2nd time to inform them that the key did not work and have now been achieved here for assistance.

    Help, please...

  • Upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit in earlier upgrade Vista 32 bit OEM

I have searched this forum for an answer to my qusetion below but can't find descriobe my script, I hope someone here can help me understand if my upgrade is viable before you start along backup and the resettlement process.

I bought my PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit OEM.

When Windows 7 was launched I purchsaed the upgrade to Home Premium disc which included 32-bit and 64-bit.

At the time many applications that I used was not compatible 64 bit so I simply upgrded to Windows 7 32 bit, I activated and have used since.

I am now find my system a bit slow and the most cost-effective upgrade would be to increase my ram from 2 GB to 8 GB, but only if I can also move to 64-bit.

What I read in other posts, the upgrade disks I have purchsed enabled me to move from 32-bit Vista either 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7.

    My qusetion is:-

Having already made the choice to upgrade my Vista 32 bit OEM for Windows 7 32 bit and activated this version, I can now reinstall using the same product keys but this time using the 64-bit installation disk?

I hope I'm not alone here, and others will be tried this and can therefore confirm the result.

    Kind regards

    Robert

You can use the key to existing product that you originally used to install and activate the Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit.

Installation of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit will not necessarily make your computer faster however.

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

Boot from the DVD 64 bit Windows 7

For information about how to modify your BIOS options to boot from the DVD drive, see the following tutorial:

    http://notebooks.com/2011/05/05/How-to-load-BIOS-and-change-boot-configuration/

Once your computer is configured to boot from the DVD, you should see this option.

    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

  • 32-bit Windows 8 Pro OEM activation using a 64-bit OEM key activation - is it possible?

I have one still to be put in service oem 64-bit of windows Pro 8 copy and I was eager to install the 32-bit version on an old pc running Windows XP and with only 4 GB of memory. The 64-bit activation key can be used for this installation of 32-bit version?

I downloaded an iso of the equivalent of 32 bits, it installed OK but when I tried to activate it using the 64-bit activation key I got the message "this product key does not work. Is it because the key provided with the 64-bit oem disk is usable only on a 64-bit install (unlike the commercial versions non - oem where the same key works for 64-bit and 32 - bit)- or is the invalid key for some other reason?

    64-bit disc is titled HRM_CCSA_X64FRE_EN-US_DV5 and the 32-bit version, I downloaded HRM_CCSA_X86FRE_EN-US_DV5

Product keys are not specific architecture (32-bit or 64-bit), the problem is, some keys do not work in some channels.

A touch of detail will not work with OEM media and vice versa OEM key will not work with the media to detail.

I need the OEM version of windows Vista 32 bit for Toshiba Portege M750 - 10G.

    Hello

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

With a Toshiba, you press 0 (zero) to start to start the ro process of factory of the recovery Partition recovery.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
