32 or 16-bit HDR in CS6?

Hello

When I create an HDR image it is possbile to choose come on in 32 or 16 bits.

Why did I create a 32-bit? My screen can not change it, and when it opens in Camera Raw, it is transfomed to a 16 bit in any case.

  • Processing 32-bit HDR in LR5 or ACR

I hope that helps, the Group of right rather than Photoshop.

When I shoot images with high dynamic range, I use the AEB function to create an HDR image in merge to HDR Pro PS and save as a 32-bit tiff.

Is it better to treat these in LR5 or use the Camera Raw dialog or y at - there no difference in exposure, highlights, shadows, whites, blacks and contrast functions while 32-bit image processing?

If anyone has a better workflow for the HDR I'd appreciate the help.

I prefer LR GUI and tools all in one place on the PS ACR interface. Inside LR I apply adjustments of WB, sharpening and noise only at my raw image files before merging with the function brackets "Edit HDR Pro in Photoshop" LR. LR and ACR offer the same functions and features, providing that they both use the same version of ACR. I use 5.2 LR and PS CS6, both with ACR8.2. IMHO there is no need to make other adjustments to the raw image files, which can be applied later to the one with also good results 1 32-bit HDR file.

"The file opens inside the HDR Pro to the PS plugin, select ' 32-bit Mode" "Remove ghosts," click OK, CTRL + S (save), or use "save under" to rename the file and/or modify Image Compression (ZIP for example), etc.. If you use "save under" inside the PS you will need to click with the right button on the working folder in LR and select 'Synchronize the folder' in a TIFF of HDR import 32-bit file. Not a big deal!

You can now process the HDR TIFF file using LR tools, which, in my opinion, are much easier to use the PS/ACR workflow. I noticed that PS CC has added a new feature called HDR Pro Workflow "toning complete in Adobe Camera Raw."

    http://blogs.Adobe.com/jkost/2013/06/merge-to-HDR-Pro-in-Photoshop-cc.html

This is exactly the same as "Edit in HDR Pro in Photoshop" using LR with the 32-bit HDR inside LR TIFF file processing. PS users that do not have LR may find an advantage, but I doubt LR users will be. What you all think, am I missing something?

  • 8-bit vs. 16-bit export to CS6

I used the bridge in the past, and I used to be able to change the profile from 8-bit to 16-bit, before going to Photoshop for further editing.  However, I can't find this option in the LR4.  Where can I change from 8 bits to 16 bits before entering CS6?  Possible?

    Photoshop crashes every time that I convert a 32-bit image to 8-bit. I use Photoshop CS6 v13.0.4 x 64 on MAC OS X 10.6.8.  I goto Image > Mode > 8bits/channel.

    image_01.png

When HDR images Merge dialog box appears, click on "merge".

In the next window on HDR toning, it blocks immediately. (immediately, as in a second after I took this screenshot)

When I click on "do not merge" it works very well, so he has something to do with the HDR toning editing capabilities.

I had problems before with CS6 work with images of 32-bit on my Mac. I posted on the Adobe forum not for a long time there is a problem with the use of the content aware fill. It would make black in my selection. However it worked fine on Windows.  In addition, some who had who have also used MAC OS X 10.6.8 made it a TI worked well, however, that he was using Photoshop CS6 v13.0.1 x 64, while I use x 64 v13.0.4.  So I think that something's broken in the subsequent updates for PS CS6 for Mac.  If I had to reinstall Photoshop it will come back on v13.0.1?

A reinstall will give you 13.0 you will need to manually update to 13.0.1.

Ok. Finally managed to install after nuking all adobe of things on my computer and restart with a diagnostic startup.

    1. go to programs and features and uninstall everything that has to do with adobe.
    2. go to your folder of Installation CS6 files and open the folder fonts and line up on the left of your screen (we will use it as a reference)

    3. go to the control panel and search for fonts. Open and align the window on the right.
    4. go through the installed system fonts and remove all the fonts that you see are installed with CS6 and were left after uninstalling. (It is the most tedious det, but take your time.)
    5. go in C:/users /(your account) /AppData
5a. If you don't see the AppData folder in the folders for your account, you must make hidden folders visible.
    Control Panel open 5a.1.
5a.2. find "folder options" then open it.
    5a.3. click the view tab.
5a.4. scroll down until you see "hidden files and folders" setting.
5a.5. Select "Show hidden files, folders and drives" and click 'apply '.

    6. make sure that you close all programs to avoid the locked file issues.

    7. go in each folder (C:/users /(your account) /AppData/ (Roaming, local, and LocalLow)) and delete the files Adobe and Macromedia.
7 a. also go into temporary folders in AppData different directories and delete the Adobe and Macromedia files in their breast.
    8. go in C:/ProgramData and delete the files Adobe and Macromedia their as well. (permission problems? go to 8A.)
    8. you might encounter with this permission issues. Here's how to fix if you get an error "need permission system.
8A.1. right click on the folder you want to remove one click Properties.
8A.2. go to the Security tab.

8A.3. click on the Advanced button.

    Click Start 8C.1.
    8C.2. search for CMD
8C.3. hold Ctrl and shift and double-click command prompt
8C.4. make sure that CMD is mounted in the folder system32 rather then your user folder.
    8C.5 Type without parentheses (rmdir /s "C:\ProgramData\Adobe").
    8C.6. valve register.
    9. download and run the adobe for a final MOP cleaning tool upward. (select the "ALL 1" option in the program to clear all Adobe).
10 use CCleaner to run a cleaning of temporary files.
11 use CCleaner to wipe the windows registry. (You can run the scanning time 3 or 4 to get all this. Adobe leaves a big mess in there, * tuts at Adobe...-_-*.

    12. go to control panel and administrative tools and click on it.
    13. open System Configuration, click the general tab and select "Start Diagnostics".
    14. go to the Startup tab and check the basic video settings.
15 go to the Startup tab and disable all startup programs (windows 8 users must perform this operation in the Task Manager).
(As an option). Go to services and select the "Print spooler" service (for Acrobat X pro installation.)

    16. click on apply, and then restart.

    17. define your resalution back to normal.
    18 install CS6 as a trial.
    19. return to step 12 and return back to normal settings.
20 reboot and register your facility.

Its a bit lengthy but if you have this problem, so these steps fixed it for me.

  • 32-bit HDR TIF

It's been a while since I've done any HDR.  I used to load my pictures are taken in Lightroom and send them to Photoshop, where, I would just save the result in Lighroom as a 32-bit TIFF and do my editing in Lightroom.

I don't remember how to do this.  The closest I came is YOUR IN ACR in Photoshop, but it was before sending it to ACR I've been able to save just in Lightroom.

Am I just having a major brain blow up in my old age or has this feature been moved, changed or contracted?

I use creative cloud for photographers and have the latest versions of Lightroom and Photoshop from today (August 31, 2014).

    Thank you.

    Chris

You should be able to select the photos in lightroom and then Edit in > Merge to HDR pro in photoshop.

Once the pictures open in the hdr dialog box, select 32-bit Mode and uncheck full toning in camera raw adobe

Once the photo open in photoshop, go to file > save and that should save in the original and lightroom should pick it up.

I just want to know if this normal. The Opencl option can be checked in the 64 bit version of Photoshop but not 32 bits. Update graphics drivers Intel HD 4000 in the Intel Web site and Opencl isn't always an option. 4000 HD supports OpenGL 4.0 and Opencl 1.1

So is this something I can fix it or does contact Intel about this?

For what it's worth, I have no OpenCL capacity in 32-bit Photoshop either, and I have an ATI card.

Including the 32 bit application sniffer Adobe GPU says nothing about support for OpenCL.  It's maybe just something they do not (although I have never been able to tell).  It would make sense for them to focus on 64-bit for the most part, since there is no version of Macintosh 32 bit at all.

As far as I understand, if you're not OpenCL, Photoshop will try to implementation of programming GPUS through OpenGL shader, then you may not miss anything at all.

  • Why, when installed photoshop cc I received a 32 bit version when my package cs6 is 64-bit

Why, when I installed photo shop cc was the version I installed 32 bit, when the cs6 program that I was upgrading is 64-bit. also can I change my cc to 64-bit

  • HDR 32-bit really is?

I'm really impressed with the new HDR functionality in Camera Raw 9.0. It is easy to use and seems to do a great job. It is advertised as producing a 32-bit HDR image. This size seems to indicate that it is likely because my NAVE MP 12 files are only 8 or 9 MB and DNG HDR file is 56 MB. But the Bridge and Lightroom that the HDR image is 16-bit. Any thoughts? I have yet to try using Lightroom, but intend to do so shortly.

Jim, the HDR merge result is a DNG file in floating point.  The image data are stored as point floating 16-bit data.  When you return this data by using the Camera Raw controls, we use internally a processing 32-bit floating point image pipeline for rendering.

  • How can I CS6 run in 64-bit?

    Hi all

    I would appreciate your help.

On my MAC, I have a 64-bit CS6 facility and also a number of plugins. I noticed that, despite the use of RAM max layout (16 GB is available) Photoshop ever uses more than 3 GB and begins to share and use all virtual memory instead. If I have the feeling that they are running in 32-bit mode...

Who knows how I can force it works in 64-bit and what troubleshooting steps should I perform?

    Thank you very much!

My mistake. This option was for CS5 which took 32 or 64 bit.

CS6 is completely 64-bit and will not have this option.

My other thought should launch Photoshop CS6 with disabled plugins.

Hold down the shift keys to start Photoshop, and then with Photoshop open, check the preferences > Performance to see if memory is still limited to 3 GB.

  • HDR Pro color cast

After the PS CS6 upgrade to 13.0.1, HDR Pro now makes terrible colors. The reds seem to be missing and there is a cast of pea-green in all. The screen shot of LR shows two images 32 - bit HDR Pro from the left was created 19/09/2012 right was created 10/27/2012 after having upgraded CS6 and LR4. The color in Photoshop space is Prophoto

I didn't have a strong theory why the color space for raw format conversions should cause this, but I thought to experiment with the setting to see if it has been questioned was not expensive.  Photoshop 'opens' files in backstage during a merge operation of the HDR script, and I don't know what he's doing here.

I wonder if Photoshop preferences to the setting of compensation would be a first step better than uninstalling / reinstalling.
