33 language packs are marked as important updates

A few days ago (after 2 years more or less no use of problem of vista x 32 final) update of windows shows all packs for languages (33 of them) mark as important... as a result, when the computer laptop shutdown, he tries install these modules... I don't want any!
When he appears for the first time I did unckeck all packs and seem to stop has been done without trying to install packs... but the next time I just forget about and had seen friendly WARNING like "do not power off your computer" as 33 updates are downloaded and installed... "... it takes a long time and will detect visible progress... so I had to power off the laptop as the need to leave the office... and it happened 3 times

How to fix?
My Vista Ultimate is Russion and already the English language pack installed a year ago...

Thank you
Valery

Hi Valery,

  • Confirm that the language packs are useless for English

My Linux distro came with Firefox ESR and pre-installed language packs (also Thunderbird and language packs). There are two entrances of package in the software for each of these applications Manager: the main program and the language packs, which indicates that all the languages in the language packs are installed/removed as a single unit. The online description indicates the language packs are used for 'other languages '. It does not say that the 'standard' language exists or if all languages require some language pack. I use English. Before you uninstall the language packs for both products, I want to confirm that they are not necessary for English. Thank you.

    Thank you.

Regarding the update, makes the subject of another post. I have it receive the notice of the update, but the update process does not (the audit online says that my version of 24.4 is the most recent and does not perform an automatic update.) If I click on the update notice, "connecting" message comes on to always without completing the connection to the update server. I understand that there is a way to install it manually, but it involves too many steps I'm not familiar with.

  • I don't have language packs (LIP) in my optional updates from the Windows Update - how to install a language pack?

I started a thread in another forum (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-windows_update/i-don), but was told to start a new thread in this forum if I still need help.  I still need some help, so I'm here.  My original post was as follows:

My hard drive crashed. It was replaced and the outside company installed the OS for me. However, I'm in a French country and they had no English operating system share so installed the french operating system without telling me. I left it as it is that I had to install my other apps in a hurry. Now, I want to change the language of the OS in English without having to reinstall the operating system. The MS help Web site gives this page with instructions: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/install-languages-with-windows-update, but I don't get the language packs when I click on "View available updates". How can I install the English language interface pack, if it is not displayed?

    Hello

    read this:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/how-do-I-get-additional-language-files

you who never read another answer you completely or correctly

you have vista Home premium and the other answer correctly indicated that you can not change the display language of vista Home premium, which is what you're tryin gto

you will need to either buy a ultimate upgrade, in french, then download the English language pack, as already stated

or buy a full vista Home premium in English

  • I read that AFTER installing a language pack in Windows 7, some updates must be re-installed. How do you know which?

That is my question.  I just did a clean reinstall of windows 7 ultimate.

Before I did the installation, I read that I should install language packs before much updates

Because if a person installs language packs after the updates, the updates must be reinstalled.

I tried to install the language packs first, but windows update wouldn't let me.

So now I think that a lot of updates must be put back.

I looked for a list or something, but found nothing.

Can I simply rerun microsoft update?

I have everyone here knows about it, I would be grateful for advice.

It's a little tricky. One day that will put you in the position of being able to receive updates is KB3161608, but this one requires reinstallation after installation of the packs of languange. :/

Since you will need it anyway, in this case again twice, here is the link:

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/3161608

You will need it as a sine qua non:

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/3020369

requiring him also a reinstall after installing a language pack. :/

Windows Update won't let you even manually install until you set automatic updates 'Never find updates' and restart, if her search runs in the background.

    Best regards, VZ

  • The language packs are cumulative?

I had to install a new language pack.

Are cumulative language packs to make the only file I need to install v6.1.1.5?  Or could it be that I have to install each file in consecutive order?

Here is a list of examples:

    • V6.1.1_ChineseTW_LangPack.XML
    • V6.1.1.3_ChineseTW_LangPack.XML
    • V6.1.1.4_ChineseTW_LangPack.XML
    • V6.1.1.5_ChineseTW_LangPack.XML

Yes, it's cumulative. So you only need to install 6.1.1.5 language pack.
